hmm sounds like some other issue however, if a package from a specific
WM that isn't even used, is needed to get themes from other, installed
packages, usable.

Wouldn't it be better to have, whatever metacity-common contains
special that is needed to make the themes visible, be put in another *-
common package?

Hmm I see... but why does adwaita then show up for the controls themes,
if it would have no gtk2 version?

Well I don't know too little of the inner workings of GTK2/3 themes,
that I could judge a lot here.
I just think it seems a bit odd, that cinnamon, which has nothing to do
with metacity, would need to depend on one of its package.

Yeah, we only found about this package being missing from
the minimal installation yesterday.

There's no actual problem. It's just that without this package, you
get no windowing themes if you have a minimal install.  With this package
you will be able to choose from a set of windowing themes.

Apparently the metacity folder is what's used for the windowing
themes.

Ok, so Maxy tells me that there was some conversation on IRC
that I missed about this.  Apparently by the end of this conversation

it was figured that only themes with both GTK2 and GTK3
engines are taken into account, which makes sense given
that we currently still have GTK2 programs.

So, I guess this part is working as intended, and then the fact
that no theme is shown is due to the lack of metacity-common,
which will be fixed in cinnamon's next upload.

gtk-2.0 and gtk-3.0 folders to appear theme in list of 
cinnamon-control-center, but there was no talking about metacity-common.


So if problem is in it - than it's better to add it to dependencies. But 
I don't know, how metacity is binded with gtk-2.0 folder, because there 
is a separate metacity folder in themes.

I have that as well,... in the Windows borders: it does show me the
hicontrast theme,...but e.g. not Adwaita.

Adwaita *is* there in the selection for the Controls theme.
