Hi Dietz,

Thanks for your information. In my case I need the irqpoll option because of 
this bug:

However, setting the "hpet=disable" option additionally seems to work well for 
me.

Does anyone know if this can have any negative implications?

Hi,

I had the same problem with lost interrupts spam after an update from 
linux-4.0.5 to 4.5.2 (both locally built).

In my case, there was "irqpoll" specified at the kernel command line (perhaps 
a leftover from some tests). After removing it, the hpet spam vanished, too.
