I tried to get the source for vlc and this is what happened:


$ apt-get source vlc

I tried the version in jessie-backports and it failed too.

[ I have no idea what this *.asc file is, but if it's some new feature
  in the ftp archive, I suppose apt-cacher-ng will have to support it as
  well, by default ].

I found this workaround:

PfilePatternEx: \.asc$

(to be put in /etc/apt-cacher-ng/acng.conf)

Yes, that will do the job. A similar solution will be added to the next
release's defaults.
