Bug#832362: crashed: jaw_impl_get_instance: assertion failed

The following warning appears now (multiple times): ** (java:1006): WARNING **: jaw_impl_get_instance called from jaw_thread. If you are running a screen reader, this is expected If you are not running a screen reader, please report this warning to the java-atk-wrapper package, explaining how to reproduce this warning Thanks again for fixing this. Michael

Hi Samuel, thank you for your quick fix. On 08/11/16 23:19, Samuel Thibault wrote > > Alex, are you perhaps using a screen reader? Not being Alex, I had the same issue - originally with "jitsi" from their repository, but I can reproduce it with "mediathekview" as well. It originally happened to me when running "accerciser" (a tool that queries the accessibility APIs as well), but I can also reproduce it when I run orca (screen reader) instead. For me, the crash did not occur when not running accerciser or orca. Dropping the patch "check-thread" helped for me as a workaround as I mentioned in #838778. In case that helps, I can retest once version version 0.33.3-10 is available in unstable. Regards, Michael

Control: reassign -1 java-atk-wrapper Hello, Michael Weghorn, on Tue 08 Nov 2016 21:43:42 +0100, wrote: > The respective bug report against libatk-wrapper-java seems to be > #838778 [1]. > > [1] https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=838778 The case in #838778 is very particular, I have worked around it in version 0.33.3-10 of java-atk-wrapper. Alex, are you perhaps using a screen reader? I would be very surprised if you are getting this while no screen reader is currently running, and I'm interested in a reproducer. It's definitely an issue in java-atk-wrapper at least, thus reassigning. At least in version 0.33.3-10 you should be getting a warning, not a crash. Samuel

The error message indicates that the assertion was probably triggered by libatk-wrapper-java-jni because of jawimpl.c. I don't see the connection to MediathekView though.
