Uploaded, and started to build.

I've also raised all the remaining bug to RC, and poked them (also to
get the needed sourceful uploads sorted).

Stalled, but I think we are ready to go right now.

Last week I tried rebuilding all reverse dependencies listed in the
transition tracker, excluding sid-only packages (that we don't care much
right now).

Everything built fine, except:
 * php-facedetect -> fixed in experimental, needs a sourceful upload
   once the transition starts
 * digikam -> needs a flag -DENABLE_OPENCV3=ON (#841412)
 * libkf5kface -> there is a partial patch on the BTS, and the version
   in experimental works (#841411)
 * sikulix -> annoyingly a previous vesion used to build, the newest one
   doesn't (#877073)

So, we are down to 2 packages failing (libkf5kface and sikulix), both of
them are leaf packages, and IMHO we could just leave the RC bugs to
their work and remove the packages if no patches comes out.

If we build this correctly, we need to build ros-vision-opencv first.

876153 is not a bug related to opencv, it is a symbol bug.

I did not understand the meaning of "NEW", but I agree to target the
first transition as 3.2.

previous version (-8) built fine for me

BTW, I can see some free time popping up in the near future, so I should
be able to get back on working on this from where I left it on July.

No, about whether going with OCV 3.2 or 3.3… I'd kind of prefer to go
with 3.2, as we have been test building and worked on it for a while,
rather than risk to find ourselves in yet more failures to handle, not
to say it would need to pass NEW again, which is kind of crowded right
now...

The situation has not changed much. After the previous report, OpenCV
3.2 was released.
And libkf5kface can not be built. Also, the latest OpenCV is 3.3, and
we want to shift this to base.
Also, some packages can not be built for other reasons.

The following packages can be migrated with OpenCV 3.2:

cimg
actiona
auto-multiple-choice
eviacam
freecad
frei0r
gmic
limereg
mrpt
openalpr
opencfu
openimageio
os-autoinst
otb
ros-opencv-apps
ros-vision-opencv
saga
sikulix
siril
sitplus
visp
gst-plugins-bad1.0

The following packages have problems and block migration.

caffe

caffe-contrib
Not yet check
NOTE: #875723

digikam
FTBFS / #841412
NOTE: FTBFS on unstable #876154

libkf5kface
FTBFS / #841411
NOTE: With OCV 3.1 is OK, But this does not support OCV 3.2 or later.

Indeed my test rebuilds highlighted new failures…

In particular of libkf5kface (already patched with what worked for 3.1),
openimageio, ros-opencv-apps. I haven't investigated them yet, but if
anybody wants to try and fail/fix things where needed it would be nice.

That's right.

But in the meantime OpenCV 3.2 went out, so we'd like to go for that.
It has been accepted into experimental a few days ago, and afaik nobody
test rebuilt things with it.

Please defer this transition until we do.

I see three remaining blocker bugs:

libkf5kface: has patches
digikam: just needs to toggle a flag

Is that correct? Are there any other blockers?
