Since maintainers changed: Ian, Steve any objections for an NMU. I still have vmdeboostrap in active use here so would be willing to help maintain it as well. I'm not sure we want to do a python3 conversion though. Cheers, -- Guido

Now we have at least two more: vmdb2 and debos. I don't have a complete list, but it'd be nice if someone collected one on wiki.debian.org. I am clearly biased towards vmdb2, having written it. I won't say it's the best one, not having used most of the others, so any such claim by me would be pure hubris, supported only by my enormous ego. Jonas also pointed out that vmdb2 is in Debian now. Nevertheless having it fixed would be nice for other use cases as well like imx8 based boards that use uboot. -- Guido > > On Thu, Mar 1, 2018 at 12:39 PM, Guido Güntherwrote: > > > On Sun, Aug 20, 2017 at 11:02:13PM +0200, Petter Reinholdtsen wrote: > > > Note, this is one of two vmdebootstrap issues blocking the creating > > > of Debian Stretch based images for Raspberry Pi 3 using only packages > > > in Debian, see https://wiki.debian.org/RaspberryPi3 >. > > > > > > It would be great if it could be possible to create RPi images > > > using only vmdebootstrap and a list of options. :) > > > > Dear maintainers, any objections to an NMU? > > Cheers, > > -- Guido > > > > > > -- > Best regards, > Michael

Bug#845439: [PATCH] Don???t enforce (U)EFI on arm64
Note that we have switched to vmdb2 for the Raspberry Pi 3 images, so this bug is no longer a blocker for us (it might still be good to fix, though). Note, this is one of two vmdebootstrap issues blocking the creating of Debian Stretch based images for Raspberry Pi 3 using only packages in Debian, see https://wiki.debian.org/RaspberryPi3 >. It would be great if it could be possible to create RPi images using only vmdebootstrap and a list of options. :) -- Happy hacking Petter Reinholdtsen
