 maybe Alex has feelings about that, from my side, no objections to
 upload your changes for this package. I never felt into really

There is a potential problem, but no one has complained about it in
years. So apparently no one thinks it's a big enough of a deal.

Does your 'Please go ahead' mean I can merge these changes and upload to
unstable?

and update the reverse dependencies to not recommend it any more.
