reassign 865065 live-build
thanks

(For reasons I do not understand, your previous mails have not made it
to the bug record. I expect they will turn up in time).

Thank you for doing this. It saved my having to download a few GB. I can
now get a couple of TV programmes. :)

Not a cups bug; reassigning so the live folks can sort it out.

Cheers,

Brian.

No reply on the -live list, so some help from you, brian, would be
appreciated. Open the ISO (I would use midnight commander) and look
at /live/filesystem.packages. I assume this is a list of packages a
debian-live-9.0.0-amd64-gnome would have.

What cups* and printer-driver-* packages are listed?

Regards,

Brian.

This does not look like a bug in cups. However, I do not know where to
reassign the report or even whether there is an issue with the live
image. Hence the CC to debian-live.

debian-live-9.0.0-i386-gnome.packages at

  https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/i386/iso-hybrid/

does not list cups or any printer-driver packages. (Only the cinnamon
image has them).

Cheers,

Brian.

2017-06-18 Thread br...@codemonkeyrawks.net
Package: cups
Version: 1.7.5-11+deb8u1
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

Step 1:
Launch the live cd using debian-live-9.0.0-amd64-gnome. Gnome-Shell should be
launched.

Step 2:
Click the down arrow on the right > settings > printers.

Step 3:
You will see that CUPS has failed to launch and gives a "Print Service Not
Available".

This is not critical but if someone was trying to play with a printer using
debian live they can't.
