Package: procps Version: 2:3.3.12-3 Severity: wishlist $ ls --help shows what each letter means, as does $ cat --help. $ top --help (-h) doesn't. It shows the letters, but does not explain them. The user must ponder the unfathomable man page. Instead of the standard Unix DESCRIPTION section at the beginning, the options are further down, in a "1. COMMAND-LINE Options" section. Alas the user, in a hurry, has long before given up. But that all is beside the point. Can you please have -h just print the contents of that "1. COMMAND-LINE Options" section? That would solve the problem. At the bottom you could add "For more information, see man top."
