This bug hasn't been fixed yet but the problem seems to be with Fuse
after all (there's an upstream bug report about it) so I'm reassigning
it back to the fuse-emulator-gtk package.

One workaround is to force GTK to use the X11 GDK backend instead of
the Wayland one by setting the GDK_BACKEND=x11 environment variable.

I'm considering to patch Fuse with this as a temporary solution until
the actual bug is fixed.

Control: reassign 872994 libgtk-3.0 3.22.21-1
Control: affects 872994 fuse-emulator-gtk

Hi again,

I'm reassigning this bug, so here's the summary of the problem:

"when I start fuse-emulator-gtk, it opens with a streched window
size and does not show the bottom screen of ZX Spectrum.

If I maximize the window, it shows all the zx spectrum screen, but
in normal window size, it doesn't."

This is a problem that only happens with Wayland, and only in the GTK+
version of the Fuse emulator (the SDL build works fine), so I suspect
the problem is in the Wayland backend of GTK+.

I'm reassigning it to libgtk-3-0, although I have to say that I
also notice some other odd behaviour when I run the desktop with
WaylandEnable=true, especially the keyboard input is more unreliable.

I can reproduce it with:

   libgtk-3-03.22.21-1
   libglib2.0-0 2.54.0-1
   xwayland 2:1.19.3-2
   gdm3 3.26.0-1
   fuse-emulator-gtk 1.4.0+dfsg1-1

Can you try enabling wayland again and see if fuse-emulator-sdl also
has problems, or is it only fuse-emulator-gtk?

Thanks!

Ok... that might be a problem in Gtk perhaps? Did you notice anything
strange with other apps, or is it only with Fuse and Vice?

Oh, I see. If you start fuse from the command-line (a terminal), do
you see any error messages?

I see this one:

Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_distribute_natural_allocation: assertion 'extra_space >=
0' failed

This is odd, I also tried the same version of fuse you're using with
the exact same list of libraries and everything works fine...

Try removing ~/.fuserc and see if it makes a difference.

What is your screen resolution?

Can you go to Options -> Filter and tell me what filter you have
selected? Do things improve if you select a different filter?

Bug#872994: fuse-emulator-gtk: screen with wrong size at startup.

2017-08-23 Thread Reds
Package: fuse-emulator-gtk
Version: 1.3.8+dfsg1-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

This problem started after my last apt-get dist-upgrade.

when I start fuse-emulator-gtk, it opens with a streched window size and does
not show the bottom screen of ZX Spectrum.

If I maximize the window, it shows all the zx spectrum screen, but in normal
window size, it doesn't.

I can't fix this. Can you please help?

The SDL version of fuse-emulator is working fine, because it's not using
GTK.

Thanks
