The only workaround is to use Ctrl+N on the keyboard, which can be tedious if you have a lot of feeds. The usual/expected behaviour is that unread items are listed with boldface, making it easy to differentiate them. I have moved ~/.config/liferea to see if I have bad settings, but the issue persists. I am using LXDE, but I also tested with Enlightenment, where the same behaviour happened. If there is any information I have neglected to provide or test, please let me know and I will ensure to include it.
