Bug#887371: nemo: crash/segfault whilst manipulating files in a folder

2019-12-01 Thread N G
Howdy,

Sorry for the late reply. Had to wait until the right kernel was backported to
Buster (new laptop).

Although it can become a bit laggy and/or slow, I am glad to see that crash is
no longer reproducible in the stable branch (nemo-3.8.5-1). Tried aggressive
stuff, like folders with hundreds of files, thumnails enabled in heavy files,
and tried to move many files from folder to folder by dragging and dropping, or
cutting and pasting. Which was/is the crash formula for old stable,
consolidating hundreds of files from many folders, into a single folder with
thousands of files, was impossible. No more crashes for me.

Happy holidays.

Bug#887371: nemo: crash/segfault whilst manipulating files in a folder

2018-12-16 Thread N G
Package: nemo
Version: 3.2.2-3
Followup-For: Bug #887371

Hello there,

I've been experiencing something similar since I installed debian stretch early
this year. If I drag and drop, copy, cut and/or paste a few times several files
(in this case from 50/500 or more jpg/png/gif/webm files).

I am able to reproduce this bug anytime, by moving several images (or any other
file with a thumbnail) from folder to folder, each folder with several files as
well, after moving several times a random number of files, it'll crash when
visiting different folders.
But I don't know how to trace further information like a log or something with
more info about the crash.
If somebody can point me how to get more info, I can reproduce it again,
thanks.

I only have this journald message

Bug#887371: nemo: crash/segfault whilst manipulating files in a folder

2018-01-15 Thread Jonathan Dowland
Package: nemo
Version: 3.4.7-1
Severity: normal

Started nemo in a particular folder, browsed up and down that folder, changing
the thumbnail size occasionally, and deleting several files; hit a segfault
within a few minutes. Different to my last report and the others I can see in
the BTS:
