Package: firefox
Version: 61.0-1

Dear Maintainer,

If it helps the build of firefox on mozilla.org doesn't have this
problem if you mv /usr/lib/firefox out of the way and untar
firefox-61.0.tar.bz2 in it's place all is good.

2018-06-27 Thread Patrick Ohearn
Same error occurs with 61.0-1

The error message can be trigged by forcing spell checks / changing
spell checking language.

This occurs with the default installed en_US dict, as well as the
en_AU dict installed from addons.mozilla.org. Only started on upgrade
from 60.x to 61.0-1

The problem is still present in 61.0-1. I get those errors too, but in
my case the path if that of the hunspell dictionaries, e.g.:

error: file:///usr/lib/firefox/dictionaries/it_IT.aff: cannot open
error: file:///usr/lib/firefox/dictionaries/it_IT.dic: cannot open
error: file:///usr/lib/firefox/dictionaries/it_IT.aff: cannot open
error: file:///usr/lib/firefox/dictionaries/en_US.aff: cannot open
error: file:///usr/lib/firefox/dictionaries/en_US.dic: cannot open
error: file:///usr/lib/firefox/dictionaries/en_US.aff: cannot open

All these files exist. It is possible to trigger these errors by
selecting a different spell checking language from a textbox context menu.

Paride

Me too. When starting firefox it outputs:

Bug#900469: firefox: Spell checker stopped working after upgrading from version 60 to 61.0~b8

2018-05-31 Thread Paride Legovini
Package: firefox
Version: 61.0~b8-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

After upgrading from firefox 60 to 61.0~b8-1 (experimental), the spell
checker no longer works (all the words are marked as wrong, no
suggestions are given in the context menu). I reproduced this issue on
two different computers. Starting firefox in safe mode doesn't help.

I normally use hunspell dictionaries, but I also tried to install a
dictionary add-on: it still doesn't work.
