I wasn't aware that there were intentions to remove the packages.
On the PTS page of wvdial I see it now, but on the wvstreams that was not
visible.

wvdial still has a quite high popcon number, so I guess there are still
some users.

A review of the patch would indeed be appreciated.

This is not a reason for removal.

It is not even clear that you followed proper process before orphaning 
the package.

Removal would be mean after Reiner did a patch to fix wvstreams.
If you want to do something useful, you could review that patch.

here I am one month later. Nobody tried to adopt wvdial or wvstreams
within the last month.
