Bug#904030: clipit: Copy/Paste is not working
Package: clipit Version: 1.4.4-2 Followup-For: Bug #904030 Dear Maintainer, I had to move to Gnome classic due to xfce4 not working, to find that copy was not working. Both from the mouse and use of ctrl-c ctrl-x seems to work but nothing is stored to past again either from the mouse or ctrl-v. Unistalling clipit and the fuctions return to normal. Trying to run clipit from the terminal gives the attached error (sorry it is a screen shot as copy and paste do not work) Andrew -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.16.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages clipit depends on: ii libappindicator3-1 0.4.92-6 ii libc6 2.27-5 ii libglib2.0-02.56.1-2 ii libgtk-3-0 3.22.30-2 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.42.1-2 ii libx11-62:1.6.5-1 ii xdotool 1:3.20160805.1-4 clipit recommends no packages. clipit suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
Bug#904030: clipit: Copy/Paste is not working
Same problem as Markus. Clipit effectively becomes unresponsive when I use a configured hotkey. Testing process: * Start clipit in terminal * Open clipit preferences via appindicator compatible systray * Trigger my preferred Hotkey to bring up history window: C * Preferences window becomes completely unresponsive * Terminal shows the following errors: (clipit:5160): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 13:22:07.135: g_object_set_data: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (clipit:5160): Gdk-CRITICAL **: 13:22:07.135: gdk_window_get_window_type: assertion 'GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed * Any move of the mouse in the clipit preferences window shows this error: (clipit:5160): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 13:22:14.511: _gtk_widget_captured_event: assertion 'WIDGET_REALIZED_FOR_EVENT (widget, event)' failed Seems like a bug with the hotkeys function? Environment is Debian Testing. Fully updated as of 7th Aug. The update caused clipit v1.4.4-2 to be installed over the older version. Running custom compiled Enlightenment v0.22.2 as window manager. Downgrading to clipit v1.4.2-1.2 solves the issue. Cheers, dave.k
Bug#904030: clipit: Copy/Paste is not working
Package: clipit Version: 1.4.4-2 Followup-For: Bug #904030 For me it stopped working with the upgrade to 1.4.4-2 * Keyboard Shortcuts no longer work * Settings window is not showing up Random errors appear on stdout, see below. For now I had to downgrade to 1.4.2-1.2 - I'm not too sure how to debug GTK issues. My desktop is Gnome in Xorg mode, so no wayland here. Package: clipit Version: 1.4.4-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, What led up to the situation? Tried to copy/paste in leafpad... What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Wrote some words in leafpad, selected what was written and tried to paste it... What was the outcome of this action? Nothing happened... What outcome did you expect instead? -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.16.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_IL, LC_CTYPE=en_IL (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_IL:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages clipit depends on: ii libappindicator3-1 0.4.92-6 ii libc6 2.27-3 ii libglib2.0-02.56.1-2 ii libgtk-3-0 3.22.30-2 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.42.1-2 ii libx11-62:1.6.5-1 ii xdotool 1:3.20160805.1-4 clipit recommends no packages. clipit suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
