I can confirm this bug on my end too on my Lenovo E580 laptop.

What I find odd is that Ubuntu has no problems recognizing this chipset and 
having the wifi work, but Debian doesn't even recognize that the WiFi device is 
there.

Dear Maintainer,

The recent update of the firmware-realtek package added support for the 
rtl8822be chipset.  Bluetooth now works but Wi-Fi doesn't.
Dmesg doesn't even indicate the they system attempts to load the Wi-Fi firmware.
