Bug#906053: dolphin: Dolphin crashes when overwriting files on samba share (exfat file system).

2018-08-18 Thread Arjen Balfoort

Thanks, I missed that one.

Adding "uid=1000,gid=1000" partially solved this bug: no segfault but
still with each move (not copy) I get this dialog for each file:

"Access denied to [destination path]"

but still, the move is successfully done.

This is the fstab mount:
//[ip address]/SHARED /media/SHARED cifs
rw,uid=1000,gid=1000,noauto,nofail,x-systemd.automount,x-systemd.after=network-online.target,x-systemd.device-timeout=10,_netdev
0 0

I've been experimenting with the options in fstab but no luck yet.

Hello Arjen Balfoort,
this might be related to this upstream bug,
at least the top 30 frames are very similar:

Kind regards,

Bug#906053: dolphin: Dolphin crashes when overwriting files on samba share (exfat file system).

2018-08-13 Thread SolydXK
Package: dolphin
Version: 4:16.08.3-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
 Open Dolphin and split screen.
Copy or move multiple files from local drive to samba share in local
network (exfat file system) to overwrite existing files.
I always need to skip/or autoskip the file (unable to ).
Although I hit skip/autoskip, the first file copies correct . When I hit
skip/autoskip for the second file while that file is being copied, Dolphin
crashes.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)?
Remove all user configuration for Dolphin: no change.
 Reinstall Dolphin: no change.
Remove destination files before copying: works.
I installed dolphin4 which had no problem copying multiple files to the
samba share.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
Dolphin still crashed when overwriting multiple files to the samba share.
Only when I manually remove the existing destination files before copying
the copy succeeds.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Being able to overwrite files on exfat samba share without crashing.
