Bug#914309: bugs.debian.org: Display won't turn back on after going to sleep

2020-05-14 Thread Jesse Farrell
This is also happening to me. I have an HP EliteBook 6930p (running
bullseye) that, once it goes to sleep, looks and sounds like it's waking
up, but the screen remains black and I'm unable to SSH to it any more.

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

After upgrading from stable to testing the display can't be turned on
again after it goes to sleep. This is using xfce. I tried upgrading from
nouveau to the nvidia drivers but that didn't change anything in that
regard.

Something that might be related: while unpacking during the upgrade
process, the display turned itself on and off every 1s until it
eventually returned to the desktop with a message saying that the power icon
from xfce crashed more than x times in the last n seconds. So I removed
it.

xfce is at version 4.12
