Package: geeqie Version: 1:1.4+git20190106-1 Severity: important Tags: upstream patch
Since version 1:1.4+git20190106-1, Geeqie crashes randomly. Most often it does so in a directory with many images, about thousand of them. It turned out, there was an uninitialized variable read, which caused random addresses to be passed to free(). That code was called once per seen file. That's why the more one uses Geeqie, the more probable the crash is. Fix was applied upstream: http://geeqie.org/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=geeqie.git;a=commitdiff;h=431adf320f4ce0ba31fb7a07ea53aca03c21fcbd Please, consider updating the package to include changes. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing-debug APT policy: (500, 'testing-debug'), (500, 'testing'), (50, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.19.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=ru_RU.utf8, LC_CTYPE=ru_RU.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=ru_RU.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages geeqie depends on: ii geeqie-common 1:1.4+git20190106-1 ii libatk1.0-0 2.30.0-2 ii libc6 2.28-5 ii libcairo2 1.16.0-2 ii libexiv2-14 0.25-4 ii libfontconfig1 2.13.1-2 ii libfreetype6 2.9.1-3 ii libgcc1 1:8.2.0-14 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.38.0+dfsg-7 ii libglib2.0-0 2.58.2-3 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.32-3 ii libjpeg62-turbo 1:1.5.2-2+b1 ii liblcms2-2 2.9-3 ii liblirc-client0 0.10.1-5 ii liblua5.1-0 5.1.5-8.1+b2 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.42.4-6 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.42.4-6 ii libpangoft2-1.0-0 1.42.4-6 ii libstdc++6 8.2.0-14 ii libtiff5 4.0.10-3 ii sensible-utils 0.0.12 Versions of packages geeqie recommends: ii cups-bsd [lpr] 2.2.10-3 ii exiftran 2.10-2+b3 ii exiv2 0.25-4 ii imagemagick 8:6.9.10.23+dfsg-2 ii imagemagick-6.q16 [imagemagick] 8:6.9.10.23+dfsg-2 ii librsvg2-common 2.44.10-1 ii ufraw-batch 0.22-4 ii zenity 3.30.0-2 Versions of packages geeqie suggests: pn geeqie-dbg <none> ii gimp 2.10.8-2 pn libjpeg-progs <none> pn ufraw <none> pn xpaint <none> -- no debconf information
