Wow, i'm just getting back to reading up on this thread, and i can confirm that unsetting GTK_IM_MODULE also fixes the problem for me. Yuri, thanks for uncovering that! I've forwarded the bug report to upstream as noted above. Regards, --dkg signature.asc Description: PGP signature

Not exactly! If I start audacity with export GTK_IM_MODULE=xim & /usr/bin/audacity nothing changed. But I've not installed scim, so maybe setting this variable with scim installed at least triggers the problem. Klaumi --- Klaus-Michael Klingsporn mail: klaumi...@gmx.de web: www.klaumikli.de

Ok -- wow, I think I've found the issue. I ran under a different system, and it seems that setting: export GTK_IM_MODULE=xim is causing the issue (!). If I unset this, then audacity works. Could you confirm this?

The only irritation I have got is in the devices-toolbar, where the names sometimes don't fit in the boxes and the mouseklicks don't apply to the right box (after window-resizing). But I've put this toolbar down on the bottom of the audacity window and rarely use it. > The only thing I see is errors on the console: > > *** BUG *** > In pixman_region32_init_rect: Invalid rectangle passed > Set a breakpoint on '_pixman_log_error' to debug > > but I'm not sure if they're related or not. This bug-message I get on the console too, so it may be related to the problems but doesn't seem to cause them. Klaumi --- Klaus-Michael Klingsporn mail: klaumi...@gmx.de web: www.klaumikli.de

I've NO problems here with audacity 2.3.2-2 from testing using libwxbase3.0-0v5 and libwxgtk3.0-gtk3-0v5 version 3.0.4+dfsg-12 (both testing as well). But I remember that I had similar problems with a self-compiled earlier 2.3-version of audacity. I had to move the configuration-directory (~/.audacity-data) out of the way and to choose the classic-theme to make it work. Maybe this helps? I tried zapping ~/.audacity-data, but I have the same issue. Some widgets do not repaint properly, but the main issue is that audio tracks only seem to redraw when resizing the main window. I rebuilt audacity from git earlier today, but it still doesn't repaint the tracks (for instance, while playing, zooming, etc). The only thing I see is errors on the console: *** BUG *** In pixman_region32_init_rect: Invalid rectangle passed Set a breakpoint on '_pixman_log_error' to debug but I'm not sure if they're related or not.
