The version currently in upstream TL already accepts the old options, but the one that is in the Debian packages doesn't have the feature by now. Either wait for the next upload, or remove the option, or remove the loading of grffile completely. Thanks. Type H for immediate help. ... l.33 \makeatletter It turns out that a recent (11th November, 2019) update to grffile solves this problem, since it silently accepts legacy options. Thanks.
