Also add your name  as maintainer in d/control and reupload for
sponsoring, and add it to the changelog. That will actually make you
the new maintainer.

The O in the title of this bug means the package is orphaned. If you
would like to be the new maintainer, you can follow this procedure to
adopt the package:
