Bug#947980: firmware-atheros: Please package new "upstream" firmware version

2020-02-10 Thread jnqnfe
yes, please update this for me also.

I have QCA6174; I've been experiencing a problem whereby sometimes
webpage loading hangs, fixed by turning wifi off and on again.

Also, I'm seeing a LOT of this in dmesg:
[37875.481395] pcieport :00:1c.4: AER: Corrected error received:
:00:1c.4
[37875.481402] pcieport :00:1c.4: AER: PCIe Bus Error:
severity=Corrected, type=Data Link Layer, (Transmitter ID)
[37875.481405] pcieport :00:1c.4: AER: device [8086:9d14] error
status/mask=1000/2000
[37875.481407] pcieport :00:1c.4: AER:[12] Timeout

I'm already using the latest UEFI (mentioned in [2] below).

I see that from the changelog of this package that QCA6174 seems to
have last been updated last May. It seems to have seen a few updates in
the linux firmware git ([1]) since then.

I see in the Arch Wiki ([2]) that the above issue is discussed and
there is a suggestion of manually installing the latest firmware from
the linked 'kvalo' github repo. I've not tried this yet (nor
alternatively that in the linux repo).

Bug#947980: firmware-atheros: Please package new "upstream" firmware version

2020-01-02 Thread Chris Lamb
Package: firmware-atheros
Version: 20190717-2
Severity: wishlist

Hi

I get the occasional firmware crash on my QCA6174-based Dell XPS13. I
had a look to see whether there was new version available and one
appeared to have been added a few days ago:

https://github.com/kvalo/ath10k-firmware/commit/4d382787f0efa77dba40394e0bc604f8eff82552

(Is this something that could/should be packaged? Thanks in
advance.)

Regards,
