Bug#949674: firefox: Firefox 72.0.2-1 crash on launch.

2020-01-23 Thread Emmanuel Fleury
I confirm that the problem was coming from sqlite3 package.

I downgraded to libsqlite3-0:amd64 3.30.1 (from 3.31.0) and everything went back
to normal.

After trying to check what else updated and searching around, it seems this bug
is related to sqlite3:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=949644

After downgrading to libsqlite3-0_3.30.1-1, firefox starts again.

I confirm the problem as well and there is the exact same problem with
thunderbird (same behavior and same error message).

This might be caused by a shared library or something in between.

I can confirm that I am experiencing this bug as well on Sid. Even firefox-esr
fails to start for me.

Bug#949674: firefox: Firefox 72.0.2-1 crash on launch.

2020-01-23 Thread zeden
Package: firefox
Version: 72.0.2-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Since the last update for firefox on debian sid (72.0.2-1) I have been
unable to start the browser, as it crashes on launch.

Created a new profile and proceeded to start the browser from terminal
and get the following gtk alert message:

"Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your
tabs and windows when it restarts.

Unfortunately the crash reporter is unable to submit a crash
report.

Details: The application did not leave a crash dump file."

The terminal shows the following:

$ /usr/bin/firefox - newprofile
ExceptionHandler::GenerateDump cloned child 26104
ExceptionHandler::SendContinueSignalToChild sent continue signal to
child
ExceptionHandler::WaitForContinueSignal waiting for continue signal...
