Daniel, 952383 is fixed in git with the following changelog entry:

  * check-support-status.in:
- Don't exit gracefully if the detected Debian version is not supported,
  instead issue a warning and continue, to both do the checks that can be
  done and to not fail the package installation. Closes: #952383.

In Europe there are people prosecuted by courts because they saved other people
from drowning in the  Mediterranean Sea.  That is almost as absurd  as if there
were people being prosecuted because they save humans from drowning in the sea.
