Well I suppose I can upload 2.11.4-pre1 to Debian on the same day.

Sure, but that means that the fix would only be in Debian with the release of
2.11.4 in about three weeks right? Then I should still disable the test in
order not to have a broken sagemath all this time.

We need to check that the fix for this bug do not create regressions,
and this takes time.
Indeed this bug occured while fixing another.

If I release 2.11.4-pre1 on April 3, would that be OK ?

Of course I can disable the test that is timing out and ignore the other
failures, but that leaves some functionality in pari and sagemath broken.
Normally it's better to just fix bugs. If you confirm that you prefer to wait
for pari 2.11.4 with this I will go ahead and disable the test.

Best,
Tobias

I plan to release 2.11.4 in May, and 2.11.4-pre1 two weeks before.
If this is too late for you I can do something, but to be honest,
Sagemath is making this bug RC completly artificially.
Why not disable the test until that ?

Hi,

sure, I can run a test build once 2.11.4-pre1 is out.

Hi Tobias,

Sorry for this regression, I forgot to backport the fix for #2164.

Unfortunately, it seems nobody from Sagemath checked PARI 2.11.3-pre1 during the
two-weeks test period.

Would you be willing to test PARI 2.11.4-pre1 when it is published?

Hi Bill,

please consider backporting the patch for the pari bugs #2164 and #2208. It
seems to be a serious bug and it breaks several things in sagemath that worked
with 2.11.2.

The patch is at
https://pari.math.u-bordeaux.fr/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=pari.git;a=commitdiff;h=c7a1d35f382e96ddf14694be27a0ca5746880700
