Bug#958451: ausweisapp2: gets stuck when using service "Arbeitnehmer online"

2020-04-22 Thread David Hebbeker
Package: ausweisapp2
Version: 1.20.0-2~bpo10+1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I am trying to use the service "Arbeitnehmer online" by Datev:

 1. Start `AusweisApp2` with no further arguments using CLI
 2. Visit with Firefox
https://www.datev.de/ano/nutzungsbedingungen.html
 3. Accept terms on website refering to
https://secure6.datev.de/zrrgnpa/register.do

 - browser waits forever for 127.0.0.1

This is something that should be forwarded upstream, as the bug doesn't
seem Debian-specific to me.

I have CC'ed one of the upstream developers.

@Andre: Would it be possible to allow issues in the Github tracker?

Hi there,

yes, it's a duplicate.

Hi Adrian,
should be the same issue as #958190, where simply the UI doesn't start at all on
a fresh Debian buster.

Not sure what dependency might be missing.

Bug#958451: ausweisapp2: gets stuck when using service "Arbeitnehmer online"

2020-04-23 Thread Jürgen Bausa
I am the reporter of the duplicate bug #958190. On my system qml-module-qt-
labs-platform is installed.

With "export QML_IMPORT_TRACE=1" I get:

QQmlImports(qrc:/qml/main.qml)::addLibraryImport: "Qt.labs.platform" 1.1 as ""
QQmlImports(qrc:/qml/main.qml)::importExtension: loaded "/usr/lib/x86_64-
linux-gnu/qt5/qml/Qt/labs/platform/qmldir"
QQmlImportDatabase::registerPluginTypes: "Qt.labs.platform" from "/usr/lib/
x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/qml/Qt/labs/platform"
QQmlApplicationEngine failed to load component
qrc:/qml/main.qml:31 module "Qt.labs.platform" version 1.1 is not installed

The file /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/qml/Qt/labs/platform/qmldir exists.

Maybe its a problem with the version? Ausweisapp2 asks for 1.1. But how do I
know, which version is provided by the debian package? qt version is 5.12.5
but I thinks that doesnt help.

I assume that the QML platform module on stable is simply too old and I'm afraid
there is not much we can do about this as updating the platform module would
involve updating all of Qt.

You could ask the Qt maintainers if they have an idea how to address this but
I don't think there is. The only possible solution I see is when upstream
reduces
their version requirement from 1.1 to 1.0.

Please note, while I gladly try to support the package on stable, backports
packages
are not officially supported, so we can't take the full extent of measures to
address this problem.

Bug#958451: ausweisapp2: gets stuck when using service "Arbeitnehmer online"

2020-04-24 Thread Jürgen Bausa
Dear Adrian,

ok, I understand. I will try to find out which version of the QML platform
module is offered by Buster. And then try to change the requirement in
Ausweisapp2.

However, I am wondering why the second bug report on this problem disappeared.
I think it would be good to keep at least one of this two bug reports (or
merge them) with an explanation. This would help all people who try to use the
backport.

I'm not sure whether overriding the version requirement will fix the problem,
normally the minimum version for a dependency is set for a reason. The software
might behave erratically.

I merged both bug reports into one because these are reporting the same issue.
