Even though mulit lines subjects are not allowed, I'm going to update cme so
that subject lines are concatenated back together. That's better than shuffling
lines around.

All the best

Bug#958746: libconfig-model-dpkg-perl: URLs in patch descriptions mangled (treated as fields?)

2020-04-24 Thread Ryan Pavlik
Package: libconfig-model-dpkg-perl
Version: 2.132~bpo10+1
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

I have used cme edit dpkg to modify metadata on some patches (which were
produced with
gbp pq). The description of one of those patches (deriving from the commit
message)
has a (final) line that starts with a url.

After modifying that patch, the description is mangled:
the URL is moved above the rest of the description and separated by blank lines,
and there is a space inserted after https:

I expected that only my manual changes, plus any re-ordering due to differing
opinions
between gbp-pq and cme, would have been made, not modifying the line
with the URL.

(My suspicion is that it parsed the https: as a RFC882 header name, so it
formatted
that "field" with a space between the header/field name and the "contents".)

Thank you,

Ryan Pavlik
