Huh; I thought that was the uploader's (i.e. my) responsibility. Doing 
so was on my TODO.

As far as I understand, Debian's NMU rules are not intended to resolve
conflicts by overriding the maintainer (temporarily until the next
maintainer upload).


It seemed that the maintainer didn't have the interest in fixing these 
two bugs, rather than having actively stated they thought they shouldn't 
have been fixed.



Having this bug on social media probably doesn't help it either
(unrelated, but someone pointed out this happened on IRC).


I had nothing to do with that (and, indeed, haven't seen that); it 
doesn't seem like a constructive thing to have done.
