I'm not the Anki maintainer, but he's facing a few technical blockers to 
updating the package (see bug #958853 for detailed discussion). I've merged 
your report with that one so you will be notified when it's fixed.

The newest versions of Anki have a substantially different build process, 
although this is unlikely to be a noticeable difference to a user.

Dear Anki Maintainers,

The Debian package is getting outdated (version 2.1.5 from August 2019).

What about upgrading to a more recent version, such as 2.1.26, 2.1.27 or
2.1.28?
