I should have a new version of spyder uploaded within a couple of days. Best wishes, Julian

My mistake (I was typing from memory in a rush); here is the correct list of source packages: euler:~ $ rmadison python-language-server pyls-black pyls-spyder abydos textdistance abydos | 0.5.0+git20201231.344346a-1 | new| source pyls-black | 0.4.6-1 | new| source pyls-spyder| 0.3.0-1 | new| source python-language-server | 0.36.2-1| new| source textdistance | 4.2.0-1 | new| source Best wishes, Julian

Hi Julian I read through the rest of the thread. I requested on IRC (probably again after you) to process these ASAP, however I don't see pyls-server in NEW or at the archive yet. Has this been rejected, or am I missing something? Nilesh > >

Maybe you can contact the ftpmaster team and request a review of these packages. In order to avoid the spyder removal. Cheers

(See the other bug reports on python3-spyder.) I have a package of Spyder 4 waiting to upload, but it requires five packages to be accepted into unstable from NEW first (pyls-server, pyls-black, pyls-spyder, abydos, textdistance); once that happens, the rest of the packages are almost ready to go. I, too, hope that we can get them in before the freeze. Best wishes, Julian

The versioned interpreter can be avoided by removing '{interpreter} ' from the definition of PYBUILD_AFTER_INSTALL in debian/rules. Best wishes, Julian
Bug#976735: spyder needs source upload for Python 3.9 transition
Package: spyder Version: 3.3.6+dfsg1-5 Severity: serious Since binNMUs are not possible for binary-all packages, a source upload is needed for the Python 3.9 transition. In a more general note, does /usr/bin/spyder3 have to use the versioned interpreter instead of python3?
