Bug#981837: pipewire:amd64: Fails to play audio and video

2021-02-10 Thread felipe
After asking for some help on #pipewire channel, I could make pipewire work
again by creating the following file:

$ sudo touch /etc/pipewire/media-session.d/with-pulseaudio

and restarting pipewire service.

This bug can be closed, but it would be better if there was a changelog
(apt-listchanges) mentioning the removal of this
file, which is necessary even if I don't have pulseaudio in this system.

Bug#981837: pipewire:amd64: Fails to play audio and video

2021-02-04 Thread zeden
Package: pipewire
Version: 0.3.19-3
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: ze...@riseup.net

Dear Maintainer,

After the last update of pipewire on debian sid, I have been unable to
play audio and video.

Bellow are the errors I gathered:

$ pw-play --list-targets
[W][03493.811358][module-rtkit.c:517 set_nice()] could not set nice-level
to -11: No such file or directory
Available targets ("*" denotes default): -1
[W][03493.812846][module-rtkit.c:504 idle_func()] could not make thread
realtime: No such file or directory

$ sudo journalctl -p 3 -xb --unit=user@1000.service
pipewire[1082]: Failed to receive portal pid:
org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NameHasNoOwner: Could not get PID of name
'org.freedesktop.portal.Desktop': no such name

Before this update, I could use pw-play with targets -1(default), 39(usb sound
card), 40(onboard) and 41(hdmi). Now I can't even list them.
