I submitted a merge request, which also drops libzinnia-dev from
Build-Depends and includes a related change in d/rules.

Bug#985758: mozc: tegaki-zinnia-japanese shouldn't be a dependency after handwriting support was removed

2021-03-22 Thread Daniel Tang
Source: mozc
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: danielzgtg.opensou...@gmail.com

This was orignally reported in Ubuntu downstream at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mozc/+bug/1920775 . I am
reporting it upstream here in Debian as per the maintainer's instructions.

Summary:

The Mozc packages shouldn't depend on tegaki-zinnia-japanese, a 26.1 MB
handwriting support package, after handwriting support was removed from Mozc (
https://github.com/google/mozc/issues/477#issuecomment-739475097 ). The
tegaki-zinnia project is also unmaintained (
https://github.com/tegaki/tegaki/issues/13#issuecomment-301248025 ).
