  Unfortunately I don't know Vala too ):

What about working in the collab-maint git repo (if you have an Alioth
account, just ask to be part of the group)?

  I never did collab-maint and I haven't got Alioth account. I'm very
new to all of this stuff, but it sounds great (:

If this sounds ok for you, create an account on alioth, and ask to be
added to the collab-maint project (which is a project dedicated to
 collaborative maintenance of Debian packages).

Once done, I will create a git repository for git and we can begin
 working together on it.

We have some minor differences in our packages:
   * Why build-dep on apt-utils?
   * I have switched to 3.0 (quilt) package format
   * Why not use machine readable copyright file?

I guess apt-utils was relic of Troorls package on which my package was
  based on.

Things need to be cleaned on my side as well ;)

My mentor haven't look on my package yet because of waf is
going to be removed from Debian and it's a bit problematic, cause Pino
depends on it (theoretically when it provides waf in upstream there
shouldn't be any problem, but it's only theoretically). I already
wrote an e-mail to Troorl and if my understanding is good, there
shouldn't be any problem with packaging Pino as long as upstream is
  going to provide waf (:

I didn't know waf was about to be removed from Debian. However, as far
as I know, it shouldn't cause any issue, as you state, as long as
upstream ships it in the tarballs.

Please keep me informed of Troorl's answer.

Do you have any news about this?
Are you still interested in packaging pino?

Cheers,
Julien

Bug#544573: rkhunter complains about unhide-linux

2010-03-20 Thread Julien Valroff
package rkhunter
tags 544573 - help - confirmed
thanks

Le mardi 01 septembre 2009 à 08:29 -0800, James Zuelow a écrit :
 Package: rkhunter
 Version: 1.3.2-6
 Severity: minor

When first installed, rkhunter scans will report this:

Warning: The file '/usr/sbin/unhide' exists on the system, but it is not
 present in the rkhunter.dat file.
Warning: The file '/usr/sbin/unhide-linux26' exists on the system, but it is
not present in the rkhunter.dat file.

Since unhide-linux26 is installed automatically with rkhunter,
it makes sense to me that it would be in rkhunter's database.

The solution is to uninstall rkhunter, and then re-install it.

I'm not familiar enough with deb packaging to suggest a fix, but it
seems to me that when rkhunter is installed it inventories the packages
that are already installed on the machine. But it does not account for
packages that are installed in the same apt/aptitude command that is
installing rkhunter. Just a WAG on my part.

While I was able to reproduce this issue, I am now unable (be it with
automatic file properties update or not).

Would you please check that this is ok for you as well using the latest
version in unstable?

Cheers,
Julien

debug. I suspect the new pata drivers fixed the problem.

Bug#541854: fossology: Incorrect provides in init.d script

2010-03-20 Thread Matt Taggart
 [Matt Taggart 2009-12-23]
I think it needs to be fixed before squeeze for sure, so at some
point if the other bug isn't fixed I'll do an upload.

 [Petter Reinholdtsen 2010-02-02]
We are getting very close to the Squeeze freeze planned for March.
Any hope of having this fixed by a maintainer upload, or should I
  NMU to fix it?

March is here, and no solution in sight. Please protest if I should
not NMU to fix this issue with fossology. :)

We just recently finally got a fix for the libextractor RC bug that had
been holding up the next fossology upload this whole time. While an NMU
wouldn't hurt, I will be doing an upload soon that fixes some other bugs
and backports a couple fixes from the next planned upstream version. In
hindsight an upload that just fixed a few small things might have been
worth the extra effort of upload/backport/ubuntu/etc but, as always,
hindsight is 20/20.

Bug#574687: bzr-pipeline: Honour useful options from ‘diff’ command in ‘pipe-patches’ command.

2010-03-20 Thread Ben Finney
Package: bzr-pipeline
Version: 0.0.1~bzr153-1
Severity: wishlist

The apparent purpose of the ‘pipeline’ plugin is to allow generating
patches, in a more organised fashion than using ‘diff’ for each patch.

In that case, the following options to the Bazaar ‘diff’ command
should also be supported by ‘pipe-patches’:

-p ARG, --prefix=ARG Set prefixes added to old and new filenames, as two
values separated by a colon. (eg old/:new/).
--diff-options=ARGPass these options to the external diff program.

These would allow control over the generated patch files, presumably
using existing functionality in Bazaar.

Bug#574645: freebsd-utils: swapon segfaults on kfreebsd-amd64

2010-03-20 Thread Petr Salinger
Running it with no argument at all, I also get a segfault. It looks
like the getprogname() call is the culprit. [My crash is at
swapon.c:215, which like swapon.c:160 uses a getprogname() call.]

That's a bit strange, since setprogname() gets called with argv[0] at
the beginning of main(), see debian/patches/016_swapon.diff

Bug#574689: lintian: Check installed /bin files and report debian/control::Architecture problems

2010-03-20 Thread Jari Aalto
Package: lintian
Version: 2.3.3
Severity: wishlist

USE CASE

A package, that consists of pure perl (or python) program is installed
in usr/bin (or any *bin* directory in general).

The debian/control::Architecture field is set to 'any'

SUGGESTION

Please check if all installed programs under */*bin/* are platform independent
and compare the result against debian/control::Architecture value.

Suggest 'all' (informational, pedantic, warning?) in case of they are all
scripts
and Architecture is not set correctly.

First line starts with shebang !#
