Bug#340657: /usr/src/linux information in Sarge release notes

2005-11-24 Thread John Talbut

Package: Release Notes for Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 (`sarge')

The following information/patch is desirable under 5.2 Upgrading to a
2.6 kernel:

If for any reason you are using software that refers to /usr/src/linux,
note that is likely to contain out of date files or links to the
previous version of the kernel after upgrading. Normally Debian
packages do not use /usr/src/linux. If it is still needed you can
probably delete the old folder (or rename it to, e.g. /usr/src/oldlinux
just for safety) and then replace it with a symlink to the new kernel
source, e.g.

cd /usr/src/
ln -s kernel-source-2.6.8 linux

Sunbird is the standalone version, lightning is the extension for thunderbird
(IceDove in debian) see http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/ .

I see that iceape-calendar has gone into testing. Is this not based on Mozilla
CalExt? If so, can it not be configured to work with IceApe or IceDove? And if
iceape-calendar can go into testing, can lightning?

Bug#408464: gnome-volume-manager: UDF CDs are mounted as iso9660

2007-02-13 Thread John Talbut
I have been having the same problem. I have managed to get my system to mount
UDF CDs, sort of, after some considerable research and configuration - which
most users will not have the time or knowledge to do.

In order to mount UDF CDs the package udftools needs to be installed and
configured. Then the system needs to mount /dev/pktcdvd/0.

So I think what this issue amounts to is that udftools should be installed as a
dependency for gnome-volume-manager with the appropriate configurations so that
gnome-volume-manager sorts out which file system is on the disc and automounts
the appropriate one.

Package: pmount
Version: 0.9.13-1+b1
Severity: normal

When I insert a USB flash drive it mounts with permissions set at drwx--

rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,quiet,shortname=mixed,uid=1000,gid=1000,umask=077,iocharset=utf8

In order to get some correct operation I need to use a line in fstab including
umask=000 and the entry in mtab on automounting is then
/dev/myFlash /flash/myFlash vfat
rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,uid=1000,umask=000,user=john 0 0

Package: linux-source-2.6.18

Severity: important

This is similar to 265747, which was determined to be a kernel problem, but this
is happening with a different kernel version, different package (wodim) and
different drive.

I insert a blank CD-R disk in the drive.

I run:
  wodim dev=/dev/cdrw /home/john/debian-testing-i386-CD-1.iso

I get:
wodim: No write mode specified.
wodim: Asuming -tao mode.

Bug#416388: linux-source-2.6.18: Wodim hangs and system may freeze

2007-03-27 Thread John Talbut

Thanks, Oleg, that has made a bit of difference.

I did:
hdparm -d0 /dev/cdrw
in a root terminal

and it responded with:
/dev/cdrw:
  setting using_dma to 0 (off)
  HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted
  using_dma=  0 (off)

I then proceeded as before. Wodim hung as before, but then everything unfroze
when I pressed the eject button on the cdrw drive. It still did not write, nor
eject, but I have got a message from Wodim indicating that it is not recognising
the blank disk.

Bug#739346: ristretto: Order by exif date

2014-02-17 Thread John Talbut

Package: ristretto
Version: 0.6.3-2
Severity: wishlist

Sorting images into file name order is unhelpful when a folder contains
images from different cameras or ones that have been renamed. It would
be useful if there was an option to sort the images in exif date/time order.

Bug#752701: initramfs-tools: Does not load firmware for in kernel wireless drivers

2014-06-25 Thread John Talbut

Package: initramfs-tools
Version: 0.109.1
Severity: normal

After compiling and installing a kernel using the latest source in
stable (linux-source (3.2+46)) the wireless does not work. The kernel
is compiled with all required drivers built in, i.e. no modules,
including the RTL8195SE driver. The firmware-realtek package is
installed. This kernel uses an initramfs (there does not seem to be any
choice about this). I cannot find any evidence of a wireless driver or
firmware being included in the initramfs. I have the same problem on
another computer with a different make of wireless chip.

Bug#752701: initramfs-tools: Does not load firmware for in kernel wireless drivers

Wed, 25 Jun 2014 22:43:56 +0200 maximilian attems wrote:

> We don'T support NFS over wireless there would be no other reason

Another reason is that if wireless firmware is not loaded in the
initramfs then it does not get loaded at all.

This is a general problem that I have had now with three different
wireless drivers. The problem is that the built in wireless driver
starts working before the disk file systems have been mounted, and hence
the firmware is not available.

It is a bug, not a matter of a user setting. Whether the solution
adopted lies with the initramfs or somewhere else is something for
developers to decide.

How can I progress this?

When booting and lightdm is started (and before any attempt to login
graphically), can you switch to a console tty, login as root and check
if logind is running (the process would be /lib/systemd/systemd-logind
from the systemd package)

In tty1 as root, ps -e -f includes the line:

root30471 0 14:10 ? 00:00:00/lib/systemd/systemd-logind

ps -rf only gives one line, for ps

Bug#748917: [Pkg-xfce-devel] Bug#748917: lightdm: fails to register a logind session

2014-05-25 Thread John Talbut
I seem to have found out the cause of this which is to do with the
migration to the systemd init system. I had updated all the packages to
the latest versions in Jessie and everything seemed to be working apart
from no logind session being registered. However, I compile my own
kernels and the kernel I was using was not set up for systemd init to
function fully. I recompiled a kernel in accordance with the systemd
readme file and now everything is working, so the bug can be closed.

Thank you both for your help.

Regards

John

Bug#659720: Subject: libreoffice: Cannot save or open documents with passwords

Spreadsheets and writer documents saved with passwords with earlier
versions of LibreOffice cannot be opened with LibreOffice 3.4.5, the
message is "The password is incorrect" after putting in the correct
password.
Documents cannot be save with passwords using LibreOffice 3.4.5, when
trying to save a document as "Password 345 test.odt" and inputting a
password, the message is "Error saving the document Untitled 1: General
Error. General input/output error"

This seems to be LibreOffice bug:

It is claimed that this only affects Ubuntu, see

Is this a known problem? Is it related to
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=689722, which is
supposed to have been resolved?

Is there a workaround so that I can boot my machine? Or a version of
the installer that does not lead to this problem? Or a way of using the
installer?

Is more information needed? If so, what? I will help if I can.

Bug#644957: libreoffice-base: Base runs extremely slowly

2011-10-10 Thread John Talbut

Package: libreoffice-base
Version: 1:3.4.3-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I have reported this issue against openjdk-6-jre,
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=641537 . However the
problem is even worse in LibreOffice 3.4.3-3 using openjdk-7-jre. It
has been reported upstream as
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35023 and marked not their
problem on the basis that base works OK with earlier versions of Java.
However, until it can be identified what the change is in Java that has
affected base it cannot be clear whether it is LibreOffice or a Java
problem.

Bug#644957: libreoffice-base: Base runs extremely slowly

2011-10-11 Thread John Talbut

Hi René

I marked the bug as grave for LibreOffice-base (not LibreOffice) because
base runs so slowly with openjdk-7-jre that it is unusable. It is not a
grave bug for openjdk-7-jre because it can be used for other things.

The question seems to be, how can this bug be resolved, whichever
package is responsible. It seems to me that at present
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=641537 has insufficient
information.

I appreciate that many people feel that Java is inherently too slow, but
it appears, according to
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35023 that base still runs
OK on earlier versions of openjdk. So which of the changes to openjdk
have slowed base down? When we know this we should be in a position to
say what the bug is in openjdk or whether some change needs to be made
in base to accommodate some intended change in Java.

Regards

John

Bug#471961: Still a problem

2011-09-28 Thread John Talbut
I am getting this problem with 2.2.5, which no longer depends on
libopenh323-1.18.0.

Are there any workarounds or any diagnostics I can do?

Bug#643867: ekiga: on h.323 call video flashes when connection is completed

2011-09-30 Thread John Talbut

Package: ekiga
Version: 3.2.7-4+b1
Severity: important

When making an h.323 call as soon as the other computer accepts the call
the video on the calling computer flashes rapidly between, I think,
called video, calling video and default screen.

In the log the following keeps repeating:

Bug#717194: Not gsd?

2013-07-24 Thread John Talbut
Hmm, I don't think this is a gnome-settings-daemon problem as I do not
have it installed, I am using xfce. When I try to run evince
(evince-gtk) it segfaults with the same messages as above.

Bug#659720: Reproducibility

2012-02-20 Thread John Talbut
Hi Rene

I have created a document and posted it upstream as requested. I cannot
open it with 3.4.5-2, so if you can then there must be something
different between your set up and mine (above).

John

Bug#641537: Current situation

2011-12-06 Thread John Talbut

Following a strace that I posted at:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/File:Bug_35023_strace.log.7z

Opinion here:
http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Trying-to-diagnose-base-running-extremely-slowly-tt3426499.html#none

is that the bug is to do with Java stack guard as detailed in these
Sun/Oracle Java related bug reports:

http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6929067: Stack guard
pages should be removed when thread is detached

http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6978641: Fix for
6929067 introduces additional overhead in thread creation/termination paths

However, I am not at all clear what has happened about 6978641.

Bug#675491: module-cork-music-on-phone is a problem

2012-06-09 Thread John Talbut
I have also been having a problem with PulseAudio not starting after a
recent upgrade.

I tried cleaning up the ~/.pulse folder but it did not help.

However, default.pa was causing PulseAudio to attempt to load
module-cork-music-on-phone, which no longer exists.

Changing the line in $HOME/.pulse/default.pa from
load-module module-cork-music-on-phone
to
load-module module-role-cork

solved the problem.

Bug#646018: network-manager-gnome: forgets wireless key if a connection is lost

2011-10-20 Thread John Talbut

Package: network-manager-gnome
Version: 0.9.0-2
Severity: normal

The wireless driver keeps dropping the network connection (nothing to do
with this bug). When the network manager applet tries to re-establish
the connection, a pop-up window appears asking for the key. The first
time this happens the existing key is offered. If the connection still
fails the next time the pop-up window appears the key has been deleted.
If I click "Cancel" in the pop-up window the first and each subsequent
time, and then click on the network manager applet in the panel, I can
select my network and re-connect (maybe after several goes) without
being prompted for a key.

Bug#807600: initramfs-tools: LVM called before encrypted partition is mounted causing boot to hang

2015-12-10 Thread John Talbut

Package: initramfs-tools
Version: 0.120
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
I compiled a static kernel from the latest source in Debian Testing,
4.2.6. I have successfully compiled kernels many times before.

I have a boot partition and the rest of the hard disk is in an encrypted
partition.

When I come to boot it fails to ask for the password and starts getting
the following lines being repeated on the console:

/run/lvm/lvmetad.socket: connect failed: No such file or directory
WARNING: Failed to connect to lvmetad. Falling back to internal scanning.
Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while...

In addition a previous kernel that I had been using also fails to boot.
On the other hand the latest stock modular kernel boots OK.

I am attaching a dmesg which I was able to obtain from a boot failure.
The lvmetad lines do not appear in dmesg.

The information below refers to the system booted with the 4.2.0-1-amd64
stock kernel.

Bug#807841: evince: Selected search results are off screen

2015-12-13 Thread John Talbut

Package: evince
Version: 3.18.2-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

I open a pdf file using evince. I use evince's search facility to find
some text. I get a list of results in a side pane. I click on any of
the results and the result is not highlighted in the main pane.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

I had to move the image up or down to find the text, which is just below
the bottom or above the top of the pane, depending on the direction of
search.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

I expect to find the search results in the pane, clear of the bottom and
top.

Bug#807600: Boot hangs

2015-12-13 Thread John Talbut
OK, so it seems that his may be a problem with cryptsetup. Is this a
known problem? Is there a workaround?

I have tried a boot with debug on. Trace attached.

Is there anything else I can do to help diagnose the problem?

Bug#792473: cups: After updating to 2.0.3-6 in testing cups interface no longer works

2015-07-20 Thread John Talbut

On 20/07/15 15:37, Didier 'OdyX' Raboud wrote:

John & Guido; can you please send the output of the following commands
to the bugreport (as root)?

# grep -E 'WebInterface|Listen' /etc/cups/cupsd.conf
# lpstat -H

If the first doesn't show "Listen localhost:631" but the latter outputs
"localhost:127", then these are occurences of bug #792730.

Cheers,
OdyX

P.S. I'll upload cups 2.0.3-9 as soon as I get feedback on #792731

I followed Brian's suggestion, i.e. I replaced:
Listen Servername:631
with
Listen localhost:631
in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf

and now everything seems to be working. For completeness (and after the
above modification which I made earlier in the day):
root@johnwtnc110:/home/john# grep -E 'WebInterface|Listen'
/etc/cups/cupsd.conf

Listen localhost:631
Listen /var/run/cups/cups.sock
WebInterface Yes
root@johnwtnc110:/home/john# lpstat -H
localhost:631

Thanks for all your work and for looking into this.

Best wishes

John

Bug#785265: Segfault

2015-05-20 Thread John Talbut
I am getting this problem as well. I had two computers one of which was
working after the recent set of updates in stretch and the other was crashing.
I decided to check on differences in the installations and on the computer that
was working I had all the xserver video packages installed and on the other I
only had the package for the (Intel) graphics card in use. I deleted the extra
packages from the working computer and it now crashes. I reinstalled all the
deleted packages and it still crashes. The one thing I could not reinstall
were the modesetting configuration files which I had purged.

I would provide a gdb trace but I am hitting some problems. I am using lightdm
and xfce so the instructions for getting a core file at
http://x.debian.net/howto/use-gdb.html do not help. What should I set on my
system?

Also I do not have a file /etc/X11/core for # gdb -c /etc/X11/core
/usr/bin/Xorg.

And when I try Starting X from gdb I get a blank screen and an unresponsive
system

Bug#785265: xserver-xorg was not installed

2015-05-21 Thread John Talbut
In my case I had uninstalled xserver-xorg after the recent update,
possibly because the description:

"This package depends on the full suite of the server and drivers for
the X.Org X server. It does not provide the actual server itself."

suggested it was not required. Clearly it is. Reinstalled it and
everything is working.

Hello John,

How are you going on with this issue? When you say "Firefox" we expect
you mean "any browser". What do you mean by "generic printer"?

What does 'netstat -tulpan | grep 631' give you?

Regards,

Brian.

Hello Brian

Sorry, I meant Iceweasel browser.
The LibreOffice print dialogue only listed "generic printer".

I have tried running cupsd as root. Iceweasel still can't establish a
connection to the server at localhost:631, but LibreOffice now lists
several printers however they do not relate to the printer currently
available on the network where I am.

running netstat -tulpan | grep 631 as root gives me nothing.

Regards

John

Hello John,

An empty output for the netstat command would imply the cups daemon is
not running. Which would imply something untoward if it happens after
the machine has been rebooted. Does it?

The status of cups can be confirmed with

   systemctl status cups cups.socket cups.path cups-browsed

Please post the output of this command.

Brian.

That doesn't look very healthy but I don't know what significance it has
in the context of this report. My system shows "Active: active (waiting)".

Do you get any error message from Iceweasel if you run it from a terminal?

Please post the output of 'netstat -tulpan | grep cups'.

These don't mean that much to me and are probably nothing to do with
what we are investigating. They are likely harmless. I thought the
output might show a complaint that the program could not connect to
localhost:631.

This is the worrying bit. You have shown you have cups running but there
is no sign here that it is listening for any connection on 127.0.0.1,
which is localhost.

We need to see your /etc/cups/cupsd.conf. Please would you post it. Send
the contents of /etc/hosts too.

Hope this helps

Bug#810160: icedove: FileLink does not work with Box

2016-01-06 Thread John Talbut

Package: icedove
Version: 38.5.0-1+b1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
I attempt to send an email with a large file attached. I have an
account with Box and I have previously successfully sent large
attachments using this service.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
When I attach the file I get a message saying "This is a large file. It
might be better to use Filelink instead." I click on Link and I get a
message "Your file is being linked. It will appear in the body of the
message when it's done."

   * What was the outcome of this action?
A rotating symbol appears next to the file name in the attachment box.
Nothing else happens, however long I wait.

Checking with Box they referred to an earlier Mozilla bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1021684 which is marked as
resolved. Apparantly "Mozilla's response was that the current
Thunderbird version 33 beta may be built on the current API calls."

I would guess that you didn't enable CONFIG_EFI_PARTITION and thus the
kernel can't decode the partition table.

Thank you, yes, that was it. I did not realise that I had an EFI
partition, I live and learn.

I think I was thrown a bit by
/usr/src/linux-source-4.3/block/partitions/Kconfig which says:

config PARTITION_ADVANCED
..
Say Y here if you would like to use hard disks under Linux which were
partitioned under an operating system running on a different
architecture than your Linux system.

..
If unsure, say N.

and

config EFI_PARTITION
..
Say Y here if you would like to use hard disks under Linux which were
partitioned using EFI GPT.

As far as I was aware my disk was all partitioned under Linux.

Is there somewhere where I could suggest modifications to the Kconfig?

Comments/Problems:

The system has a 256MB SSD and a 1TB SSD. The installation is LUKS
encrypted apart from boot and efi partitions. The 1TB SSD is for user
files and is LVM volume group da and logical volume da, the 256MB is
volume group dk and divided into root, home, var, tmp and swap
partitions. The installation proceeded correctly up to installing GRUB.
It is not clear where to install it but wherever I try I come up with
a message "Unable to install GRUB in /dev/sda" (or the equivalent in
other partitions). It did seem as if initrd was trying to mount root on
a partition that had not been decrypted, but trying in rescue mode when
the partitions are decrypted before attempting to install GRUB comes up
with the same error.

Bug#1032435: installation-reports: Fails to install GRUB bootloader

2023-03-07 Thread John Talbut

Thanks, Pascal.

Install in /dev/sda was just an example, it is the one that the
installer suggests. I have tried /dev/nvme1n1, /dev/nvme1n1p1 (the ESP
partition) and /dev/nvme1n1p2 (the boot partition) all with the same
result: The rescue operation 'grub-reinstall' failed with exit code 1

I gave up trying to get the legacy system to work after it failed
following updating from bullseye to bookworm by changing sources.list
and I am attempting to do a fresh install for an EFI boot.

/dev/sda is the USB stick which contains the installer. You cannot
install GRUB there.

Does the installer boot in EFI or legacy mode ?
grub-installer prompts in which device to install GRUB when installing
for legacy/BIOS boot. It means either the installer booted in legacy
mode or booted in EFI mode but you chose to revert to legacy boot after
being warned (maybe wrongly) about an existing system set up for legacy
boot. When installing GRUB for EFI boot, it automatically chooses one of
the selected EFI partitions.

The partition layout on /dev/nvme1n1 is set up for EFI boot. GRUB could
be installed for legacy boot in /dev/nvme1n1, but it would not be best
because there is not "BIOS boot" (bios_grub) partition.

Bug#1032435: installation-reports: Fails to install GRUB bootloader

2023-03-09 Thread John Talbut

Thanks, Pascal, you gave me some more ideas where to look.

I have spent a lot of time on this without being able to discover
exactly where the error lay in order to be able to correct it without
going back to square 1. In the end the only thing that has worked has
been a complete reinstall including erasing all previous information in
all partitions.

Consistently what was happening whatever I did was that when I tried to
boot it would go straight to grub>: - The grub prompt on a blank screen.
When I checked the settings and files information on this screen, e.g.
using ls and set commands, the information never corresponded to what
was actually installed.

Clearly something was wrong that was used very early in the boot process
but I was unable to find what. None of the information that I could
find online that I could make sense of stated exactly which files or
settings the UEFI firmware first goes to.

One thing that seems to be the case but is not made clear is that grub
needs two partitions for booting. One is a plain EFI partition and the
other is a normally formatted (e.g. ext4) partition mounted at /boot.
Confusingly, although the EFI partition seems to get mounted as
/boot/efi it has to be a separate partition in the installer
partitioning scheme.

OK. I noted that comment although there is no reference to Mesa in my

But IIRC (based on other messages found via google) the bug is caused
by the DRI driver in the via drm module in the kernel; though I am not
an expert in the field so I might be wrong.

I do not know whether it is significant but I do not have that

Hi

Raphael Geissert wrote:

The problem you are facing appears to be a hardware problem, and according to
Xavier Bachelot (one of the openchrome devs) it is likely to be in the i2c
bus. He suggests forcing the only active output to be the CRT, to try to
workaround the incorrect mode used when something is detected on the tv out.

Try by adding the following line to the Device section of your xorg.conf:
Option "ActiveDevice" "CRT"

OK, done that. So far so good, however it is intermittent. I had a
system crash last week, possibly due to hardware, and had to reinstall.
This bug reoccurred after the re-installation but before I had altered
xorg.conf.

Presumably this is a problem that affects auto-detection as it did not
used to happen (i.e. before auto-detection).

Bug#462467: acpid: /proc/acpi/event has been deprecated in Linux kernel 2.6.24

2008-11-07 Thread John Talbut
I think this bug needs to be reclassified as important. It is throwing
up the same symptom as
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=440870, i.e.
Installation fails acpid: can't open /proc/acpi/event: No such file or
directory.
Effects of this is that I get an "Errors were encountered while
processing" message whenever I try to install or update with Aptitude
and deporphan does not work.

Bug#440870: Installation fails acpid: can't open /proc/acpi/event: No such file or directory

2008-11-12 Thread John Talbut
I have resolved my problem - I did not have /proc/acpi/event support
(config ACPI_PROC_EVENT) compiled into my kernel (as suggested by the
Debian supplied /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.26/drivers/acpi/Kconfig).

I was confused by these two bugs, hence I am sending this note to both.
Bug 440870 is supposedly just about the file being exclusively opened
by hal and is marked fixed.

My problem seems to be to do with the retention by Debian of
/proc/acpi/event and therefore to do with bug 462467. However, the
resolution to my problem is given under bug 440870.

Bug#505580: Package: installation-reports

2008-11-13 Thread John Talbut

Package: installation-reports

This is mainly to report that I had some trouble installing the software
on the USB. Generally available versions of boot.img.gz screwed up the
USB drive, after doing:
zcat /data/Downloads/Debian/boot.img.gz > /dev/sda
the drive became unreadable. However, the daily image listed below
worked OK.

The other problem I had was knowing which iso image to install.
http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/manual/en.i386/ch04s03.html just says "copy
a Debian netinst or businesscard ISO image to it." which I did not find
particularly helpful. Also I understand that it is important to get the
iso image from the same source as the boot.img.gz file.

Boot method: USB

On another Linux computer I:
Downloaded
http://people.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i/images/daily/hd-media/boot.img.gz
and
Image version:
http://gensho.acc.umu.se/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/i386/iso-cd/debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso

Inserted a usb flash memory and in a user terminal did
zcat /data/Downloads/Debian/boot.img.gz > /dev/sda

Then in a root terminal did:
mount /dev/sda /mnt
cp /data/Downloads/Debian/debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso /mnt
umount /mnt

(see http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/manual/en.i386/ch04s03.html)

Date: 3/11/08

Machine: MSI Wind U90

The rest of the installation was fairly straightforward though I have
not got around to getting the wireless to work yet.

Bug#508441: cups-driver-gutenprint: cups-calibrate does not work with current ppd

2008-12-11 Thread John Talbut

Package: cups-driver-gutenprint
Version: 5.0.2-4
Severity: normal

The cupsColourProfile produced by cups-calibrate does not seen to be of
any use with the current ppds. According to
http://www.cups.org/documentation.php/doc-1.4/spec-ppd.html
cupsColorProfile is deprecated. The ppd that I installed (Epson Stylus
Color 1520 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.2) seems to use a different, more
complex approach to colour correction.
