Bug#425888: gnash: FTBFS [i386]: implicit declaration of function 'SWFMovie_writeExports'
tags 425888 + patch thanks A quick search indicate that the symbol in question belong to the ming package (libming0 and libming-dev), and there is no header file for it. Looking in the ming source, I find the symbol in the movie.h file: void SWFMovie_writeExports(SWFMovie movie); Perhaps the movie.h file should be included in libming-dev? Until that happen, I believe the gnash source need to define the prototype on its own. I believe this patch will solve the problem. Bug#425968: tellico: wrong translation to German
Package: tellico Version: 1.2.5-1 Severity: grave Justification: causes non-serious data loss The German translation is errenous. 'Editor' is translated as 'Verfasser', but 'Verfasser' means author. Correct translation would be 'Herausgeber'. 'Publisher' is translated as 'Herausgeber', but 'Herausgeber' means editor. Correct translation would be 'Verlag'. 'Organization' is translated as 'Unternehmen', but might be better translated simply as 'Organisation'. The resulting data base is unusable by external tools like Latex, hence 'causes non-serious data loss'. tags 425968 +upstream found 425968 1.2.11-1 severity 425968 important thanks Hi, This loss of data is not in the sense that it will actually make existing data disappear and break your existing collection, rather it doesn't export them in the expected format. So I'm lowering priority to non-RC. This bug is present in Etch. I will try to get a fix included in a point release, but I can't promise it will be accepted by the SRMs. These translations are still in the upstream svn, CCing Jens who takes care of the de translation so I can get his input and possibly a fix for it. Bug#425863: [Aaron M. Ucko] Bug#425863: FTBFS: teckit/libtool yields multiple definition errors
Hi Jonathan, the attached mail is a bug report we received for our Debian packages, the TECkit library didn't build any more on 64bit architectures. It was triggered because we configured texlive with --enable-shared to build libkpathsea.so.4.0.0. The easy solution was to use --enable-shared=default, so that it is ineffective in the directories for other libs, like TECkit. But there's also a patch in the report which allows to compile with --enable-shared in TECkit. I'm not sure it's useful for you, but just in case, here is it. (Is it okay to contact you directly, or should we send xetex-related things to the mailing list? Is that possible without subscribing?) Regards, Frank ---BeginMessage--- Package: texlive-bin Version: 2007-8 Severity: serious Tags: patch Justification: no longer builds from source The version of libtool in .../libs/teckit is buggy (rant about libtool in general elided ;-). Bug#425390: ok, so 2.0 is not in testing yet
I've can reproducibly revert to 1.5 but all attempts to then follow the steps to install 2.0 through up a popup saying something to the effect that another version of icedove is running, kill it or restart your system. There's nothing to kill, a new x zsession doesn't work, a reboot doesn't work. I can find no .pid file lurking. It doesn't check PID it just checks for the presence of .mozilla-thunderbird/default/lock sym. link. Remove it and restart the icedove. I have no idea why they would create a link with PID info and not even check if it's a stale one due to the process not being there anymore... Bug#426023: poppler: Missing Conflicts/Replaces: to old library names
Package: poppler Version: 0.5.4-4 Severity: serious Tags: patch Hi poppler developers! Recently, the library names were renamed like libpoppler1-glib - libpoppler-glib1. However, the new packages do not Conflicts:/Replaces: the old names and they cannot be installed side by side. This will create a mess on upgrades. Attached is the patch we use in Ubuntu. Ubuntu also had to do this for the qt4 package; This is not actually necessary for Debian (since the qt4 bindings weren't built in Debian before), but it would be great if you could add them nevertheless, so that Ubuntu can avoid patching the package just to add this C/R. Bug#407575: #407575: playground does basically nothing
Hi, I can observe the same behaviour here; playground doesn't execute any action, even if it reacts to mouseover-focus, right-click and so on. I've attached a strace log of playground to this mail. It basically continues polling something (I really dunno what) and get -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable) answers. This happens on any input/events. Moreover, running playground from command line, I get a long line which looks like: IOR:01001e0049444c3a426f6e6f626f2f47656e65726963466163746f72793a 312e3354424f5400010102000500554e49580a00 6c6f63616c686f7374002a002f746d702f6f726269742d6c7563612f6c69 6e632d313730382d302d3761353335336235313764643300caaedfba5400 010102002a002f746d702f6f726269742d6c7563612f6c696e632d313730382d 302d37613533353362353137646433001c00a03a0c60b01f68a8c02b 2828282828280500cc7b19dd010048000100020005001c00 a03a0c60b01f68a8c02b2828282828280500cc7b19dd01001400 01000100010509010100 And of course the above mentioned behaviour. Bug#425923: quantlib: FTBFS with new boost libraries
Luigi, On 25 May 2007 at 15:14, Dirk Eddelbuettel wrote: | | On 25 May 2007 at 22:04, Luigi Ballabio wrote: | | | | Hi Dirk, | | | | On May 25, 2007, at 6:28 PM, Dirk Eddelbuettel wrote: | | | checking for Boost development files... yes | | | checking Boost version... yes | | | checking for Boost unit-test framework... no | | | configure: WARNING: Boost unit-test framework not found | | | configure: WARNING: The test suite will be disabled | | | | And I see the same with the 0.8.0 (pre-)release snapshot of May 25. | | | | Luigi -- looks like configure needs some help. Are you still | | developing on | | Debian? | | | | Almost. I switched to Ubuntu a few months ago when I got a new laptop. | | Sure, I use Ubuntu too on several machines at work. I built my boost 1.34 | there as I wanted to play with something from the boost sandbox... | | |Do you have our Boost 1.34 installed? | | | | Not yet. The Boost 1.34 release was exceptionally bad timing for us, | | since we were finalizing release 0.8.0 when it was made. Instead of | | installing 1.34 and restarting the tests (which I did suspect would | | fail---see http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.boost.devel/159278) | | I chose not to further delay 0.8.0. In fact, the release notes suggest | | to use 1.33.1 on Linux systems. If this makes things difficult for you, | | I'll try and make a 0.8.1 release to add Boost 1.34 compatibility; but | | at this point 0.8.0 is frozen. It looks like I need that -- as Boost 1.34 is now in Debian unstable, QuantLib 0.4.0 and 0.8.0 do no longer build. So to keep QuantLib in unstable, we need to make it build with Boost 1.34. What is the best way to do that? As a very cheap and ugly alternative, I could turn Boost tests off. As I'd have to alter the package setup, I could introduce some silly bugs at that end. But if that is easier that redoing QL for Boost, I could go that way. Let me know. Regards, Dirk | I think we simply need to work the configure script. From my casual glance | at it, boost doesn't seem to have change file locations so I am confused as | to what could have caused this to break. | | [ Oh, and while I have you here: we have a really weird build bug with | QL-Swig on a few more obscure arches. I didn't bug you with that as it build | on all other version -- but see how 0.4.0 failed on a view. From the errors I | see on the failed attempts, it looks to me as if gcc et al are to | blame. We'll see. Source URLs are | http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=419742 and | http://buildd.debian.org/build.php?pkg=quantlib-swig ] | | Any thought on configure.ac for boost though ? | | Dirk | | -- | Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something. | -- Thomas A.
