close 432484 1.14-1 thanks -=| gregor herrmann, Tue, 10 Jul 2007 21:16:25 +0200 |=- We have 1.14 in our svn repo with the following changelog entry: libtest-www-mechanize-perl (1.14-1) WAITSFORNEWlibwww-mechanize-perl; urgency=low * New upstream release * debian/control: libwww-mechanize-perl updated dependencies to (= 1.24) libwww-mechanize-perl 1.30-2 was uploaded on 29th June, libtest-www-mechanize-perl needs at least 1.24, so I guess that should do. Eloy, am I right? Could you or someone else have a look and if possible upload libtest-www-mechanize-perl (and close this bug)? I uploaded this, but forgot to add Closes: #432484. Bug#432648: eclipse: FTBFS [powerpc]: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ljawt
Package: eclipse Version: 3.2.2-1 Severity: grave Hi! The 3.2.2-1 version of eclipse doesn't build on powerpc anymore it seems. See [1]. As it did build on that architecture and a package of it is in testing this is a regression. Please fix it, or get the powerpc package dropped by the ftp masters (the former is far more the way to go, though). Maybe it is just a missing Build-Depends, I'm not sure. Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) ---BeginMessage--- Package: snmptrapfmt Version: 1.11 Severity: serious Tags: etch-ignore Hi Jochen, The snmptrapfmt package is uninstallable in unstable because it has the following dependencies: Package: snmptrapfmt Depends: snmpd, libsnmp9 libsnmp9 is no longer available in unstable, having been replaced with libsnmp10. Because this is the result of a hard-coded dependency in debian/control, the problem cannot be fixed in a binNMU. There are two problems that I see with this Depends: field: - As far as I can tell, nothing in snmptrapfmt uses libsnmp9 directly, either by linking against it or by dlopen()ing it. If this is true, this part of the dependency line should be dropped. - snmptrapfmt *does* build dynamically-linked ELF binaries, which means that the package is missing a dependency on ${shlibs:Depends}. This is not optional, any such packages must at least declare their relationship to glibc so that packages are upgraded in the right order. Please correct these issues. severity 432543 critical retitle 432543 iso_639.tab was still used (by geneweb) reassign 432543 iso-codes thanks (severity=critical because breaks unrelated software) The build of the geneweb package is broken by the removal of iso_639.tab. I am really sorry for still using that file, but unless someone comes up with a simple command-line utility to extract information for the iso-codes XML files, using the .tab files is the only way to easily associate a language code and a language name. Bug#432657: ... buildd bug???
texi2dvi is provided by the texinfo package, which is in the Build-Depends-Indep list. This might not be correct, but if it's wrong, it's because of the use of makeinfo in building the main monotone package; not because of the use of texi2dvi in building the monotone-doc package. The buildd invokes debian/rules build instead of debian/rules build-arch, which means it ought to have installed the Build-Depends-Indep, but it didn't. Several more buildd's have since failed with the same error, so clearly they are working as designed, but I don't know what to do about it. zw -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Does this affect alpha only, or other architectures as well? Is there any way I can be notified when the buildds are fixed? I'm going to have to do another upload to correct #432657, and if I can resolve this one as well by waiting 24 hours or so I would rather do that than bug people for rebuilds later. zw -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#432659: monotone: FTBFS on alpha, configure fails mysteriously
On Wed, Jul 11, 2007 at 11:26:20AM -0700, Zack Weinberg wrote: On 7/11/07, Steve Langasek [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: The most recent upload of glibc to unstable has introduced a libc-dev dependency which is in conflict with the sbuild configuration on multiple buildds. As a result, libstdc++-dev has gone missing from these chroots, and the buildd admin will need to make some changes to restore build-essential in these environments. Thanks for the info. Does this affect alpha only, or other architectures as well? It affects multiple architectures, it seems that only alpha was affected for monotone due to timing. Is there any way I can be notified when the buildds are fixed? Not really. I'm going to have to do another upload to correct #432657, and if I can resolve this one as well by waiting 24 hours or so I would rather do that than bug people for rebuilds later. Please just go ahead with uploading, and trust that the buildds will take care of themselves (there are a *lot* of packages that will need to be given back once this is fixed, one more won't matter either way). -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world. Bug#359299: NMU available
I've now completed testing on my local system with this bug and gnucash works well with the rebuilt guile-g-wrap dependent on libglib2.0-0. The interdiff is attached. With a few minor changes in the gnucash packaging (maintainer notified) related to 289668, I have been able to completely remove libglib1.2 from this system and gnucash is fine. If anything, there appears to be a significant speed improvement in starting gnucash and saving files. I propose to make an NMU of g-wrap sometime next week. Bug#289668: Just for the record:
Package: gnucash Version: 2.0.5-1 Hi Thomas, Been checking through a few bug reports and these two need a review. IMHO 289688 is misleading - gnucash2 does not need libdb3 in Build-Depends but it also should not Build-Depend on liborbit-dev, it should use liborbit2-dev instead. This removes libglib1 from the Build-Depends chain - HOWEVER, 359299 adds it back to the runtime dependencies and in many ways, guile-g-wrap (359299) is normally expected to be part of the Build-Depends of gnucash. ./configure warns about it being needed for runtime. I've just installed my build of gnucash, removed liborbit-dev and liborbit0 (I already had liborbit2-dev and liborbit2 installed) and gnucash runs fine. As it stands, that is fine because the guile-g-wrap problem has a fix. Andreas has not yet responded to 359299. I've now added the NMU patch to 359299 and I expect to upload the NMU in the next 7-10 days. Once 359299 is closed, if you can close 289668 and update the liborbit2-dev listing, this will finally remove libglib1 from the dependency chain of gnucash. If you get the same results at your end, feel free to tag 289668 blocked by 359299, remove 'wontfix' and add 'pending' instead. Yippee!! I've built g-wrap with my NMU changes, installed it, purged libglib1.2 and libglib1.2-dev and gnucash is running fine. Maybe it was just a cache issue (but I built several packages since I last opened gnucash) but first appearances are that starting gnucash and saving files is TWICE as fast with the new packages. Yippee x 2 !! Bug#432765: ingimp: Cannot be included in Lenny
Hi Moritz, This package includes a whole copy of Gimp You are right: the source package includes a copy of GIMP and the binary packages include the GIMP binary (but not anything else). which regularly has vulnerabilities, The idea is to make it depend on the latest version of the GIMP and update it whenever a new version of GIMP comes out. So it will be updated whenever a new security fix for GIMP is released. In fact, with the last release of ingimp that I made yesterday, I set the dependency to be: gimp (= 2.2.16), gimp ( 2.2.17) to force the versions to match exactly. it cannot be included in Lenny as is. Could you explain a bit more why you think that way? As long as ingimp keeps up with GIMP releases, I fail to see how it should be treated any differently.
