We have 1.14 in our svn repo with the following changelog entry:

 libtest-www-mechanize-perl (1.14-1) WAITSFORNEWlibwww-mechanize-perl;
 urgency=low

   * New upstream release
   * debian/control: libwww-mechanize-perl updated dependencies to (=
 1.24)

 libwww-mechanize-perl 1.30-2 was uploaded on 29th June,
libtest-www-mechanize-perl needs at least 1.24, so I guess that
 should do.

 Eloy, am I right?
Could you or someone else have a look and if possible upload
 libtest-www-mechanize-perl (and close this bug)?

I uploaded this, but forgot to add Closes: #432484. Closing manually.

Hi there!

Due to the recent removal of apache (including it's accompanied
packages of apache-common, apache-dbg, apache-dev, apache-doc,
apache-perl and apache-ssl) and libapache-mod-perl your package most
propably isn't able to get installed or built anymore. These are the
problems your package currently has:

rt3.6-apache (dependency): apache |apache-perl |apache-ssl

Please either send the ftp team a removal request for your package if
it isn't able to work with apache2, or update it to build (only)
packages for apache2.

 Thanks in advance,

Bug#432648: eclipse: FTBFS [powerpc]: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ljawt

2007-07-11 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Package: eclipse
Version: 3.2.2-1
Severity: grave

Hi!

The 3.2.2-1 version of eclipse doesn't build on powerpc anymore it
seems. See [1]. As it did build on that architecture and a package of
it is in testing this is a regression.

Please fix it, or get the powerpc package dropped by the ftp masters
(the former is far more the way to go, though). Maybe it is just a
missing Build-Depends, I'm not sure.

 So long,
Rhonda

Hi!

The Build-Depends on powerpc can't be satisfied and thus the package is
not buildable:

  Tried versions: 0git20070620-1
   - Does not satisfy version, not trying
E: Could not satisfy build-dependency.
#v-

Please update your Build-Depends accordingly so the package can be
built on powerpc again.

 So long,
Rhonda

Hi!

pulseaudio fails to build on powerpc. You can look up the build logs

Package: monotone
Version: 0.35-1

The buildds on i386 and powerpc report texi2dvi to be missing. This is
probably a problem in the Build-Depends line.

(I compiled in a sid chroot before uploading, but that was an existing

I am well aware that this is a compiler bug but before submitting it against

Failing that, I suggest we drop arm from the list of supported architectures

BTW, it is possible that the compiler bug is already known. I haven't
looked in the GC bug database yet.

Bug#432659: monotone: FTBFS on alpha, configure fails mysteriously

2007-07-11 Thread Ludovic Brenta
Package: monotone
Version: 0.35-1
Severity: serious

The configure fails mysteriously on alpha:

checking whether the compiler supports tr1::unordered_map... no
checking for early 4.0-series g++ bug in tr1 hashtables... yes
checking whether C++ streams support sync_with_stdio... configure: error: could
not generate input for test 1
See `config.log' for more details.
make: *** [config.status] Error 1

This is the only architecture where the configure fails.

Please look in the configure script to see if there is anything specific
to alpha. If not, let's attempt the build again with the next upload.
If it fails again, I suggest we drop alpha from the list of supported
architectures for this package.

Bug#432660: ogre FTBFS due to broken SSE detection on HPPA

2007-07-11 Thread Riku Voipio
Package: ogre
Severity: serious
Justification: FTBFS on hppa
Version: 1.4.2-2

Ogre attempts to build sse optimizations for platforms that do not have
sse intructions set. This bug also affects the unofficial armel port, and
possibly others (once the other bugs preventing those builds get fixed..)

However, atleast powerpc port did the right thing. Most likely just the

This might also be because it has been tried to be built on one of the slower

I have at least seen that in other packages.

Hi Jochen,

The snmptrapfmt package is uninstallable in unstable because it has the
following dependencies:

  Package: snmptrapfmt
  Depends: snmpd, libsnmp9

libsnmp9 is no longer available in unstable, having been replaced with
libsnmp10. Because this is the result of a hard-coded dependency in
debian/control, the problem cannot be fixed in a binNMU.

There are two problems that I see with this Depends: field:

- As far as I can tell, nothing in snmptrapfmt uses libsnmp9 directly,
either by linking against it or by dlopen()ing it. If this is true, this
part of the dependency line should be dropped.
- snmptrapfmt *does* build dynamically-linked ELF binaries, which means that
the package is missing a dependency on ${shlibs:Depends}. This is not
optional, any such packages must at least declare their relationship to
glibc so that packages are upgraded in the right order.

Please correct these issues.

Thanks,

Adding libid3tag0-dev to Build-Depends: fixes the MP3 support:

and the resulting package indeed shows MP3 files again.

Thanks for coonsidering

Bug#432543: geneweb: FTBFS: debian/get-iso-codes returns error 1

severity 432543 critical
retitle 432543 iso_639.tab was still used (by geneweb)
reassign 432543 iso-codes
thanks

(severity=critical because breaks unrelated software)

The build of the geneweb package is broken by the removal of
iso_639.tab.

I am really sorry for still using that file, but unless someone comes
up with a simple command-line utility to extract information for the
iso-codes XML files, using the .tab files is the only way to easily
associate a language code and a language name.

Please re-instate the generation of iso_639.tab.

Tobias, can you do it? I don't remember what you did change to
iso-codes build system to stop providing that file.

Bug#432410: util-vserver - FTBFS: Build-depends on removed package: modutils

2007-07-11 Thread Micah Anderson

Ola,

The modutils package has been removed from sid and lenny as it is a
package that supports 2.4 kernels, which are no longer a part of any
Debian release (including Etch).

Modutils functionality is now provided by module-init-tools, however I
am not sure why it is needed for util-vserver, do you?

Additionally, the dependency is: modutils|module-init-tools so I am not
sure why the build failed.

Micah

Ogre attempts to build sse optimizations for platforms that do not have
sse intructions set. This bug also affects the unofficial armel port, and
possibly others (once the other bugs preventing those builds get fixed..)

However, atleast powerpc port did the right thing. Most likely just the
configure check is broken.

Bug#432410: util-vserver - FTBFS: Build-depends on removed package: modutils

Ahh I see. I thought it was for 2.6 as well.

Modutils functionality is now provided by module-init-tools, however I
am not sure why it is needed for util-vserver, do you?

I have searched some and it seems to be the configure script that need
to find modprobe command. I do not really know why, but maybe it
write the path somewhere. I do not know.

Additionally, the dependency is: modutils|module-init-tools so I am not
 sure why the build failed.

That is quite strange, yes. Maybe the build script is broken?

Bug#432657: ... buildd bug???

2007-07-11 Thread Zack Weinberg

texi2dvi is provided by the texinfo package, which is in the
Build-Depends-Indep list. This might not be correct, but if it's
wrong, it's because of the use of makeinfo in building the main
monotone package; not because of the use of texi2dvi in building the
monotone-doc package. The buildd invokes debian/rules build instead
of debian/rules build-arch, which means it ought to have installed the
Build-Depends-Indep, but it didn't.

Several more buildd's have since failed with the same error, so
clearly they are working as designed, but I don't know what to do
about it.

Bug#432659: monotone: FTBFS on alpha, configure fails mysteriously

2007-07-11 Thread Zack Weinberg

If you look carefully at the buildd log for this one, you see it went
off the rails a long time before that...

checking whether we are using the GNU C++ compiler... no
checking whether g++ accepts -g... no
checking dependency style of g++... none
checking for C++ compiler warning flags... unknown

^^ this looks like a completely nonfunctional C++ compiler. Actually,
there are problems even earlier:

The following extra packages will be installed:

 libc6.1-dev libicu36 libicu36-dev libstdc++2.10-dev libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2
 linux-libc-dev zlib1g-dev

^^ g++ *2.95*?! What on earth is it doing using that dinosaur?
Upstream doesn't support anything before 3.3, and would like to bump
that to 3.4.

I need advice from the alpha porters on what might be wrong here and
how to proceed. debian-alpha cc:ed.

The most recent upload of glibc to unstable has introduced a libc-dev
dependency which is in conflict with the sbuild configuration on multiple
buildds. As a result, libstdc++-dev has gone missing from these chroots,
and the buildd admin will need to make some changes to restore
build-essential in these environments.

Closing the bug report since this is not a bug in monotone.

Thanks for the info. Does this affect alpha only, or other
architectures as well? Is there any way I can be notified when the
buildds are fixed? I'm going to have to do another upload to correct
#432657, and if I can resolve this one as well by waiting 24 hours or
so I would rather do that than bug people for rebuilds later.

Bug#432659: monotone: FTBFS on alpha, configure fails mysteriously

The most recent upload of glibc to unstable has introduced a libc-dev
dependency which is in conflict with the sbuild configuration on multiple

 build-essential in these environments.

Thanks for the info. Does this affect alpha only, or other
 architectures as well?

It affects multiple architectures, it seems that only alpha was affected for
monotone due to timing.

Is there any way I can be notified when the buildds are fixed?

Not really.

I'm going to have to do another upload to correct #432657, and if I can
resolve this one as well by waiting 24 hours or so I would rather do that
than bug people for rebuilds later.

Please just go ahead with uploading, and trust that the buildds will take
care of themselves (there are a *lot* of packages that will need to be given
back once this is fixed, one more won't matter either way).

which points to version 9,0,48,0 makes md5sum fail.

#432403 was no bug about a new upstream version. This is no valid reason
 to close such a bug.

I fixed the bug with my upstream hat on, since it isn't Debian-specific:

videolink (1.2.1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Fixed build failure on 64-bit architectures

 -- Ben Hutchings [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue, 10 Jul 2007 19:59:17 +0100

(the urgency=medium should have gone in the Debian changelog, but
never mind).

Yes. This is bug #424906 in python-central. There is a workaround
mentioned in that bug. I am going to leave this bug on the player so
I don't get any more duplicate bug reports however.

Bug#359299: NMU available

2007-07-11 Thread Neil Williams
I've now completed testing on my local system with this bug and gnucash
works well with the rebuilt guile-g-wrap dependent on libglib2.0-0.

The interdiff is attached.

With a few minor changes in the gnucash packaging (maintainer notified)
related to 289668, I have been able to completely remove libglib1.2
from this system and gnucash is fine. If anything, there appears to be
a significant speed improvement in starting gnucash and saving files.

I propose to make an NMU of g-wrap sometime next week. Let me know if
you want to make an upload yourself.

Bug#289668: Just for the record:

2007-07-11 Thread Neil Williams
Package: gnucash
Version: 2.0.5-1

Hi Thomas,

Been checking through a few bug reports and these two need a review.

IMHO 289688 is misleading - gnucash2 does not need libdb3 in
Build-Depends but it also should not Build-Depend on liborbit-dev, it
should use liborbit2-dev instead. This removes libglib1 from the
Build-Depends chain - HOWEVER, 359299 adds it back to the runtime
dependencies and in many ways, guile-g-wrap (359299) is normally
expected to be part of the Build-Depends of gnucash. ./configure warns
about it being needed for runtime.

I've just installed my build of gnucash, removed liborbit-dev and
liborbit0 (I already had liborbit2-dev and liborbit2 installed) and
gnucash runs fine.

As it stands, that is fine because the guile-g-wrap problem has a fix.

Andreas has not yet responded to 359299. I've now added the NMU patch
to 359299 and I expect to upload the NMU in the next 7-10 days.

Once 359299 is closed, if you can close 289668 and update the
liborbit2-dev listing, this will finally remove libglib1 from the
dependency chain of gnucash. If you get the same results at your end,
feel free to tag 289668 blocked by 359299, remove 'wontfix' and add
'pending' instead.

Yippee!!

I've built g-wrap with my NMU changes, installed it, purged libglib1.2
and libglib1.2-dev and gnucash is running fine. Maybe it was just a
cache issue (but I built several packages since I last opened gnucash)
but first appearances are that starting gnucash and saving files is
TWICE as fast with the new packages.

Yippee x 2 !!

Summary attached.

Bug#432765: ingimp: Cannot be included in Lenny

2007-07-11 Thread Francois Marier
Hi Moritz,

This package includes a whole copy of Gimp

You are right: the source package includes a copy of GIMP and the binary
packages include the GIMP binary (but not anything else).

 which regularly has vulnerabilities,

The idea is to make it depend on the latest version of the GIMP and update
it whenever a new version of GIMP comes out. So it will be updated whenever
a new security fix for GIMP is released. In fact, with the last release of
ingimp that I made yesterday, I set the dependency to be:

  gimp (= 2.2.16), gimp ( 2.2.17)

to force the versions to match exactly.

it cannot be included in Lenny as is.

Could you explain a bit more why you think that way? As long as ingimp
keeps up with GIMP releases, I fail to see how it should be treated any
differently.

Cheers,

Francois

tomorrow I'll try bringing all of the installed packages up-to-date.
just in case. It's only been since Saturday, but there's 76 updated
 packages in the queue already.

The immediate suspect would be libneon26, but there is only one version
of that, 0.26.3-1, which satisfies the dependency in libsvn1. So you
and Troy surely have the same version of libneon26.

 OK,

 1. backup your .mozilla-thunderbird directory

 2. please try if using a new profile fixes this for you (e.g. move
 .mozilla-thunderbird somewhere else to test)

3a. if it doesn't help, please come back
That didn't help. It still fails if I have messages set to be signed
 automatically.

BTW - I tried BOTH things you suggested. I completely moved
~/.mozilla-thunderbird out of the way, started icedove, setup a new account,
setup enigmail preferences, and then attempted to send email. I got the same
problem of it failing to be able to create a message.

A list of error messages under various settings is in the original bug
report, they are the same now.

I then tried putting my original one back and removing XUL.mfasl and
compreg.dat, but taht didn't work either.

I've re-downgraded to the 'testing' version of icedove and enigmail.

Any update on this?

When running under 2.6.21-2 in testing, the 3c509x network card
intermittently locks up after a few hours.

When shutting down for a reboot, messages appear on the console like
interrupt posted but not delivered

Rolling back to 2.6.18-4 fixes the issue.

Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately, upstream's sources (neither from
git nor svn) build with 2.6.21. I'll wait a couple of months -- if the
situation doesn't improve, I guess removal from the archive is the right
choice.

The upgrades were irrelevant. Same behavior.

I tried removing ~/.subversion, but that did not change anything.

I then removed /etc/subversion, and now it works. Unfortunately,
I did not save a copy of the files that were in that directory.
And, I did not check my backup _before_hand -- it turns out that
the files weren't in the backup, either. But, that's a different
problem.

So, I can tell you the workaround -- rm -rf /etc/subversion. But,
I can't tell you _what_ about that directory being empty that makes
it work; I hadn't changed any of the config files from what they
were in the package itself (at least, afaict...).

Hrrm. The default /etc/subversion/config and /etc/subversion/servers
are entirely empty except for comments and section headers.

If you purge then reinstall subversion, it will restore the default
files in /etc/subversion. Can you confirm that this does not break
your system again?

Thanks.
