Bug#431605: korganizer: events disappear
I've always used local (no NFS nor kio slaves) plain text files ( _~/.kde/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics_ ). When I used the backup file to restore data lost, it was also located on a local disk (again, no NFS nor kio slaves) - _/mnt/hdb1/stuff/backup.ics_ - and I added it as a resource using KOrganizer's lateral bar, so I could copy events to the default iCalendar file. I've never synced it, neither with other programs nor with external hardware. Hope this helps! Alex Sune Vuorela wrote: On Thursday 12 July 2007, Alex Henry wrote: The bug has manifested again! Bug#427406: Problem still exists
Hi, manphiz [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Some search work at http://bugzilla.gnome.org shows no similar report, and as it is unreproducible anywhere, there's no reason for the upstream or Debian maintainer to address such bug, which doesn't prevent the possibility for the bug's silent disappearance either. OK, that's a reason, although at least Marco Bravi has this problem, too. Moreover, there's no difficulty to downgrade back to 2.14.5 if something still goes wrong. Finally, as the only one encountering this bug, only you can tell whether 2.18.5 is ok. So why not give it a shot? :) Another OK, I tested the current version from unstable, 2.18.5-1. Unfortunately, the problem still exists. P.S.: No offense, but I really doubt such a problem is necessary to be set as grave severity. Well, of course you're right when the severity depends on the amount of systems affected. But *if* your system is affected, it *is* a grave problem, since it's just impossible to save data, close applications etc. when this bug occurs, but you need to restart the whole system. (Although, in the first few seconds after clicking close, you can still switch to a VT and kill metacity and metacity-dialog). Greetings, Claudius -- Mail:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ICQ: 224491597 ,= ,-_-. =. Hi. Yes. I've reverted the package libgmime-2.0-2 from version (2.2.10-1) to version (2.2.9-1) of testing and mail-notification can back to work. So this is a workaround for while. Regards. Bug#428927: keepalived: FTBFS: check_data.h:38:27: error: linux/ip_masq.h: No such file or directory
tag 428927 patch thanks Michael Mende [EMAIL PROTECTED] (25/06/2007): please add linux-kernel-headers to your build dependencies. This will solve the problem. Hi, l-k-h is being dropped, that's why MadCoder removed the patch tag. FYI: /usr/include/linux/version.h is provided both by linux-kernel-headers and linux-libc-dev. But only linux-kernel-headers' version.h contains the UTS_RELEASE constant that is needed by configure script to get the right linux minor version. Without this build starts assuming linux 2.2. Please find attached a patch to fix this. It works OK on 2.6.* and I believe that it should break systems where UTS_RELEASE is defined. Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) ---BeginMessage--- Package: scsitools Version: 0.9-1.1 Severity: grave Tags: patch Justification: renders package unusable Running /sbin/rescan-scsi-bus.sh makes my (and most likely every) system unusable, I get input/output errors when trying to run programs after I ran rescan-scsi-bus.sh. The reason for this behavior is a syntax change for sg_inq; as of sg3-utils-1.24-1, it doesn't accept -36 anymore, but only --len=36. PATCH: Change INQ=`sg_inq -36 /dev/$SGDEV` to INQ=`sg_inq --len=36 /dev/$SGDEV` in /sbin/rescan-scsi-bus.sh. And while you're at it, you could append 2/dev/null to the two lines echo scsi remove-single-device $devnr /proc/scsi/scsi and echo scsi add-single-device $devnr /proc/scsi/scsi which will make the ugly error message line 183: echo: write error: Invalid argument vanish that appears for each unsuccessfully tested ID if there are narrow SCSI channels present when scanning with -w. Bug#430286: marked as done (ldbl128 transition for alpha, powerpc, sparc, s390)
Your message dated Tue, 24 Jul 2007 18:34:36 + with message-id [EMAIL PROTECTED] and subject line Bug#430286: fixed in openexr 1.2.2-4.4 has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith. Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) ---BeginMessage--- Package: libopenexr-dev Severity: serious User: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Usertags: goal-ldbl128 Discussed in http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2007/05/msg01173.html With glibc-2.5 and gcc-4.1.2 (and gcc-4.2), the 'long double' data type did change from a 64bit representation to a 128bit representation on alpha, powerpc, sparc, s390. To allow partial upgrades of packages, we will need to rename all packages holding libraries with the long double data type in their API. Both libc and libstdc++ do not need to be renamed, because they support both representations. We rename the library packages on all architectures to avoid name mismatches between architectures (you can avoid the renaming by supporting both datatype representations in the library as done in glibc and libstdc++, but unless a library is prepared for that, it does not seem to be worth the effort). It is suggested to rename a package libfoo1 to libfoo1ldbl; please wait with the renaming if the package depends on another library package which needs renaming. This package has been indentified as one with header files in /usr/include matching 'long *double'. Please close this bug report if it is a false positive, or rename the package accordingly. ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: openexr Source-Version: 1.2.2-4.4 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of openexr, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: libopenexr-dev_1.2.2-4.4_i386.deb to pool/main/o/openexr/libopenexr-dev_1.2.2-4.4_i386.deb libopenexr2ldbl_1.2.2-4.4_i386.deb to pool/main/o/openexr/libopenexr2ldbl_1.2.2-4.4_i386.deb openexr_1.2.2-4.4.diff.gz to pool/main/o/openexr/openexr_1.2.2-4.4.diff.gz openexr_1.2.2-4.4.dsc to pool/main/o/openexr/openexr_1.2.2-4.4.dsc openexr_1.2.2-4.4_i386.deb to pool/main/o/openexr/openexr_1.2.2-4.4_i386.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Bug#433214: marked as done (gambas2: Please remove udeb)
Your message dated Tue, 24 Jul 2007 18:35:51 + with message-id [EMAIL PROTECTED] and subject line Bug#433214: fixed in gambas2 1.9.49+svn476-1 has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith. (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I am talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact me immediately.) Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) ---BeginMessage--- Package: gambas2 Version: 1.9.49-3 Severity: serious Tags: d-i Justification: unauthorized udeb With your latest upload you have added a udeb to your package without any justification and without any discussion with the Debian Installer team on debian-boot at lists.debian.org. Recently the Technical Committee reaffirmed [1] that udebs and the debian-installer section of the archive are owned by the Debian Installer team. Adding udebs to the archive without discussion with the D-I team is therefore not acceptable. Even though your intention does seem to be to use the udeb with the installer, the basic principles are still the same as in that ruling. See also: http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2007/07/msg00324.html. Please remove the udeb from your package with your next upload. You are of course free to start a discussion with the D-I team about possible inclusion, but only _after_ the udeb has been removed. Note that I have requested the Release Managers to block your package from migrating to testing (as is normal for all packages with udebs). I will request removal of that block once a new version without the udeb has been uploaded. The best information source I have found after some googling is [1]. Maybe the output of the following commands on the problematic and on a working machine will narrow down the problem: perl -e use Scalar::Util 'weaken' dpkg -l perl-base debsums perl-base perl -MScalar::Util -MData::Dumper -e 'print Dumper(\%INC)' perl -V If the first statement fails on the on the specific machine, but succeeds on the working machine, then it is either a broken perl installation or a bug in the perl packages. In either case apt-show-versions is only a problem victim, but not its cause. One possible cause (from [1]) is a problem with /usr/lib/perl/5.8.8/auto/List/Util/Util.so [1] http://www.perlmonks.org/?node_id=481322 Regards, Andreas Hoenen -- Andreas Hoenen [EMAIL PROTECTED] GPG: 1024D/B888D2CE A4A6 E8B5 593A E89B 496B 82F0 728D 8B7E B888 D2CE pgpD6hyS39DW4.pgp Description: PGP signature

If I had to guess, it might have been something with QT. I had no QT libs before installing the package, and this was the first version of stellarium that used QT. There must have been a library or something that didn't get initialized properly...who knows. Either way, the bug can be closed. Sorry to waste your time. Bug#430832: Similar problems here, but with 64 bit apps
On Sun, Jul 22, 2007 at 11:08:46AM +0200, Pawel Wiecek wrote: Hi, On Jul 22, 1:24am, Aurelien Jarno wrote: I have similar problem, but with 64-bit libs. Everything works OK with [...] Could you give us more details? What is your system, an i386 one or and amd64 one? Currently it's an Intel-based (in case tis would matter, which I doubt) amd64 system, running self-compiled kernel 2.6.22-rc7 (whose configuration is mostly the same as for official Debian kernel, I only switched CPU optimization on and USB suspend off). Also, please give us the exact error message that appears when the problem arise. Here's an excerpt from syslog: Jul 19 09:48:11 kingu kernel: dpkg[30696]: segfault at rip rsp 7fffaf8ff4c8 error 14 Jul 19 09:48:12 kingu kernel: rm[30697]: segfault at rip rsp 7fff54b41568 error 14 Jul 19 09:48:13 kingu kernel: debsums[30700]: segfault at rip rsp 7fff174b9028 error 14 Jul 19 09:48:32 kingu kernel: ls[30701]: segfault at rip rsp 709204e8 error 14 And so on, and so on. These segfaults come from dpkg trying to continua with installing debs, then there are myriads of identical segfaults from the stuff that's spawned by init, until I do a hard reboot. After this init crashes with the same message. Hope that helps. If I can provide any additional info I'll be happy to do it. Ok, that's mean the problem is different, the only thing is common is that it is most probably due to your configuration, as this package is installed on thousand of machines without any problem. First, could you please make sure you don't have any LD_* environment variables defined (like LD_LIBRARY_PATH or LD_PRELOAD). Then would it be possible to send us the output of ls -l /lib? reassign 434433 perl-base thanks On Tuesday 24 July 2007 20:10, you wrote: [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: snip/ In this specific machine I get this error, but I've tried in other etch's and can't reproduce this. OK, the working machine outputs nothing, but the non-working says: $ perl -e use Scalar::Util 'weaken' Weak references are not implemented in the version of perl at -e line 1 BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at -e line 1. The bad machine has this includes that aren't in the good machine: 'Config.pm' = '/usr/lib/perl/5.8/Config.pm', 'Exporter/Heavy.pm' = '/usr/share/perl/5.8/Exporter/Heavy.pm', 'AutoLoader.pm' = '/usr/share/perl/5.8/AutoLoader.pm', 'DynaLoader.pm' = '/usr/lib/perl/5.8/DynaLoader.pm', Can you please give me any more help in this issue? Since this isn't an apt-show-versions bug, but probably a perl-base one, I'm trying to reassign it to the perl-base package. Bug#392927: Spfmilter dies unexpectedly with SIGABRT

I couldn't say whether spfmilter will then leak in the way that the comment warns ofi (I suspect not), but that would be a less severe bug in my book. I will feedback when I know more about that question. scary though it may sound, please consider applying this to libspf0, and putting the resulting package(s) forward for the next point release of etch. I've applied this patch on one of my etch boxes that often experiences this crash. It's quite memory-contrained, so any memory leaks should also be reasonably obvious. I'll report results as I get them. I've been running this for nearly a week on my medium-volume backup MX, and if there's a memory leak, it's a very slow one. My baseline (off-peak) vsize for spfmilter started out as 10340 on 7/20 and then increased to 10396 on 7/21 and to 10460 on 7/23. Nonetheless, it does appear to be leaking. I can't actually prove that it's libspf0 leaking, though, since I'm not stable enough without the patch to take any real measurements. According to my etch system, whitelister is the only other package using libspf0. It's probably worth getting in touch with its maintainer to get his take. -- Mike Markley [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
