etl is a companion library to synfig and synfigstudio, which have been deemed
not suitable for testing at this time. Since it is unlikely that anyone would
want to use this library in their own program, and since it is actually not
recommended because upstream might be folding the library into synfig, etl
should not be part of testing at this time.

nor kio slaves) - _/mnt/hdb1/stuff/backup.ics_ - and I added it as a
resource using KOrganizer's lateral bar, so I could copy events to the
default iCalendar file. I've never synced it, neither with other
programs nor with external hardware.

   Hope this helps!

Is it just a plain text file on your local harddrive? or do you use nfs?
or some network kio slaves ? (nfs:// fish:// or ... )

Do you sync with other programs ? like kpilot, kmobiletools,

If nobody disagrees, I'll take it over, modify it to build the 2.x version
as libapache2-mod-auth-radius. I can probably get it done for a first
upload by the end of the day.

I've got the package ready. Just say the word :)

Hi Josip, I am good if you want to take over the package 100%. Just make
sure that the module actually works. Last time I checked I couldn't get
a2 to auth with radius for some reasons I was never able to debug.

So you have my blessing :)

Thank you :)

I think the change to auth mechanisms in 2.2 broke it, for all practical
purposes. I sent a separate mail about that to the author, no reply yet.

But I'll still upload a binary package with the -2.0.c code built
so that potential helpers have something more viable to work with.

For the bug log:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=231204 - fixed in upstream svn in

You cannot send the kernel on the virus, this way from the control drawer
within Outlook 96 you either never have to receive the SIMM, or should never
forward to the 6X GPU but then you either must install on the graphic AGP
terminale, or can never overclock a program on a computer and therefore you
must disable the USB ISDN driver for digiting from a analogic ISDN sendmail.

Hi there!

Due to the recent removal of apache (including it's accompanied
packages of apache-common, apache-dbg, apache-dev, apache-doc,
apache-perl and apache-ssl) and libapache-mod-perl your package most
propably isn't able to get installed or built anymore. These are the
problems your package currently has:

libapache-mod-encoding (dependency): apache |apache-ssl |apache-perl
libapache-mod-encoding (dependency): apache-common (= 1.3.28-1)

Please either send the ftp team a removal request for your package if
it isn't able to work with apache2, or update it to build (only)
packages for apache2.

 Thanks in advance,

Hi,

Your package is failing to build with the following error:

ntfs_3g-ntfs-3g.o ntfs_3g-utils.o -pthread ../libntfs-3g/.libs/libntfs-3g.so

You probably also don't want to set that rpath, which might be caused by
an old version of libtool.

Bug#427406: Problem still exists

2007-07-24 Thread Claudius Hubig
Hi,

manphiz [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
Some search work at http://bugzilla.gnome.org shows no similar
report, and as it is unreproducible anywhere, there's no reason for
the upstream or Debian maintainer to address such bug, which doesn't
prevent the possibility for the bug's silent disappearance either.

OK, that's a reason, although at least Marco Bravi has this problem,
too.

Moreover, there's no difficulty to downgrade back to 2.14.5 if
something still goes wrong. Finally, as the only one encountering
this bug, only you can tell whether 2.18.5 is ok. So why not give it
a shot? :)

Another OK, I tested the current version from unstable, 2.18.5-1.
Unfortunately, the problem still exists.

P.S.: No offense, but I really doubt such a problem is necessary to
be set as grave severity.

Well, of course you're right when the severity depends on the amount
of systems affected. But *if* your system is affected, it *is* a
grave problem, since it's just impossible to save data, close
applications etc. when this bug occurs, but you need to restart the
whole system. (Although, in the first few seconds after clicking
close, you can still switch to a VT and kill metacity and
metacity-dialog).

Greetings,

Claudius

I have got a patch from upstream, please get the source package of mono
1.2.4-4 and apply it and run at least: gfax banshee and monodevelop.

When all 3 applications run normally, I will include the patch in a -5
 upload.

with the patch applied here tomboy/f-spot/gfax work, banshee/monodevelop don't
(stop at splashscreen). Logs attached.

FYI patched packages can be found at http://people.debian.org/~filippo/packages/

thanks,

Bug#428190: PPC patch for Mono 1.2.4

I have got a patch from upstream, please get the source package of mono
1.2.4-4 and apply it and run at least: gfax banshee and monodevelop.

When all 3 applications run normally, I will include the patch in a -5
  upload.

with the patch applied here tomboy/f-spot/gfax work, banshee/monodevelop
 don't
 (stop at splashscreen). Logs attached.

FYI patched packages can be found at
 http://people.debian.org/~filippo/packages/

Thanks for testing the patch with the requested packages. Looks like
this specific bug is fixed but another one is still there as both
monodevelop and banshee show the same symptom:

(Banshee:6318): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot retrieve class for
invalid (unclassed) type `(null)'

(MonoDevelop:6330): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot retrieve class for
invalid (unclassed) type `(null)'

Sounds pretty runtime-ish

Hi.

Yes. I've reverted the package libgmime-2.0-2 from version (2.2.10-1) to
version (2.2.9-1) of testing and mail-notification can back to work. So
this is a workaround for while.

Regards.

Bug#434516: emacs-wiki: emacs22 already includes wiki-mode

2007-07-24 Thread Rebecca Breu

Package: emacs-wiki
Version: 2.72-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Emacs 22 already includes wiki-mode. If emacs 22 is installed,
emacs-wiki breaks usage of wiki-mode. On starting wiki-mode, you then get

eval: Recursive `require' for feature `sb-info'

Purging emacs-wiki fixes this.

Package: libqca2
Version: 2.0~beta2-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

(I'm not very good in english, and I hope you understand me.)

When I try to compile any project (and also examples given with the source of
qca2.0) with qca, I have the next problem :
/usr/bin/ld: warning: libQtCore_debug.so.4, needed by /usr/lib/libqca.so, not
found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link)
And my project doesn't work.

I found the required library here : /usr/lib/libQtCore.so.4.2.1.debug

Thanks !

2007-07-24 Thread Cyril Brulebois
tag 428927 patch
thanks

Michael Mende [EMAIL PROTECTED] (25/06/2007):
please add linux-kernel-headers to your build dependencies. This will
 solve the problem.

Hi,

l-k-h is being dropped, that's why MadCoder removed the patch tag.

FYI: /usr/include/linux/version.h is provided both by
 linux-kernel-headers and linux-libc-dev. But only
 linux-kernel-headers' version.h contains the UTS_RELEASE constant that
is needed by configure script to get the right linux minor version.
Without this build starts assuming linux 2.2.

Please find attached a patch to fix this. It works OK on 2.6.* and I
believe that it should break systems where UTS_RELEASE is defined.

Cheers,

Bug#434529: nvidia-glx: won't install due to missing package

2007-07-24 Thread Folkert van Heusden
Package: nvidia-glx
Version: current unstable
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,

When trying to install nvidia-glx (for compiz on my geforce 7300 gs) I
get the following error:

belle:/usr/src# apt-get install nvidia-glx
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
nvidia-glx: Depends: nvidia-kernel-100.14.11 but it is not installable
E: Broken packages

I search for the package and indeed it does not exist.
What can we do?

   * Update Debian copyright file.
+ Remove Adobe copyright notices; nothing in the upstream sources
case-insensitive matches adobe, let alone bears a copyright notice of
   theirs.
+ Add many copyright notices, licenses, and other notations of status
(such as public domain) from upstream sources.
+ Add other information required by Debian Policy §12.5.
   * Update package description.
+ Stop claiming that the package also provides font file manipulation
utilities. It no longer does; those moved to xfonts-utils. (To aid
transitions, xfonts-base should have grown a dependency on xfonts-utils,
but etch is out now and it's too late to help people upgrading from
   sarge.)
+ Stop documenting the dependency on xutils; debhelper now worries about
this for us via dh_installxfonts and ${misc:Depends}, so the dependency
is no longer directly our responsibility.

+ Stop claiming that the package also provides font file manipulation
utilities. It no longer does; those moved to xfonts-utils. (To aid
transitions, xfonts-base should have grown a dependency on
 xfonts-utils,
but etch is out now and it's too late to help people upgrading from

+ Stop documenting the dependency on xutils; debhelper now worries about
this for us via dh_installxfonts and ${misc:Depends}, so the dependency

It would be good if someone also addressed the description problems I

paragraph which still exists in 1.0.0-5:

This package contains primarily fonts in the ISO 10646-1 and ISO 8859-1

Package: scsitools
Version: 0.9-1.1
Severity: grave
Tags: patch
Justification: renders package unusable

Running /sbin/rescan-scsi-bus.sh makes my (and most likely every) system
unusable, I get input/output errors when trying to run programs after I
ran rescan-scsi-bus.sh.

The reason for this behavior is a syntax change for sg_inq; as of
sg3-utils-1.24-1, it doesn't accept -36 anymore, but only --len=36.

PATCH:

Change

  INQ=`sg_inq -36 /dev/$SGDEV`

to

  INQ=`sg_inq --len=36 /dev/$SGDEV`

in /sbin/rescan-scsi-bus.sh.

And while you're at it, you could append

  2/dev/null

to the two lines

  echo scsi remove-single-device $devnr /proc/scsi/scsi

and

  echo scsi add-single-device $devnr /proc/scsi/scsi

which will make the ugly error message

line 183: echo: write error: Invalid argument

vanish that appears for each unsuccessfully tested ID if there are
narrow SCSI channels present when scanning with -w.

If I chose the wrong severity and/or tags, please let me know.

The build uses a more recent libfreetype. It's probably just the

Discussed in http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2007/05/msg01173.html

With glibc-2.5 and gcc-4.1.2 (and gcc-4.2), the 'long double'
data type did change from a 64bit representation to a 128bit
representation on alpha, powerpc, sparc, s390. To allow
partial upgrades of packages, we will need to rename all
packages holding libraries with the long double data type in
their API. Both libc and libstdc++ do not need to be renamed,
because they support both representations. We rename the library
packages on all architectures to avoid name mismatches between
architectures (you can avoid the renaming by supporting both
datatype representations in the library as done in glibc and
libstdc++, but unless a library is prepared for that, it does not
seem to be worth the effort).

It is suggested to rename a package libfoo1 to libfoo1ldbl;
please wait with the renaming if the package depends on
another library package which needs renaming.

This package has been indentified as one with header files in
/usr/include matching 'long *double'. Please close this bug report
if it is a false positive, or rename the package accordingly.

Package: gambas2
Version: 1.9.49-3
Severity: serious
Tags: d-i
Justification: unauthorized udeb

With your latest upload you have added a udeb to your package without
any justification and without any discussion with the Debian Installer
team on debian-boot at lists.debian.org.

Recently the Technical Committee reaffirmed [1] that udebs and the
debian-installer section of the archive are owned by the Debian
Installer team. Adding udebs to the archive without discussion with the
D-I team is therefore not acceptable.
Even though your intention does seem to be to use the udeb with the
installer, the basic principles are still the same as in that ruling.

See also: http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2007/07/msg00324.html.

Please remove the udeb from your package with your next upload.
You are of course free to start a discussion with the D-I team about
possible inclusion, but only _after_ the udeb has been removed.

Note that I have requested the Release Managers to block your package
from migrating to testing (as is normal for all packages with udebs).
I will request removal of that block once a new version without the
udeb has been uploaded.

Regards,
Frans Pop

Bug#434433: apt-show-versions fails to install

Hi,

some quick remarks:

It looks like your perl installation on the specific machine is somehow
broken. The best information source I have found after some googling is
[1].

Maybe the output of the following commands on the problematic and on a
working machine will narrow down the problem:

perl -e use Scalar::Util 'weaken'
dpkg -l perl-base
debsums perl-base
perl -MScalar::Util -MData::Dumper -e 'print Dumper(\%INC)'
perl -V

If the first statement fails on the on the specific machine, but
succeeds on the working machine, then it is either a broken perl
installation or a bug in the perl packages. In either case
apt-show-versions is only a problem victim, but not its cause.

One possible cause (from [1]) is a problem with
/usr/lib/perl/5.8.8/auto/List/Util/Util.so

After a reboot, the program runs flawlessly. I couldn't tell you what
the problem was. If I had to guess, it might have been something with
QT. I had no QT libs before installing the package, and this was the
first version of stellarium that used QT. There must have been a
library or something that didn't get initialized properly...who knows.

Either way, the bug can be closed. Sorry to waste your time.

I think this is related to an API change and recent upload of a new FLAC
Library, from libflac-dev's changelog:

  * New upstream release. closes: #405167, #411311
- libOggFLAC and libOggFLAC++ have been merged into libFLAC, so
  remove their corresponding packages.
- Because of the API changes required to effect the above, there has
been yet another soname bump. libflac7 - libflac8 and
libflac++5 - libflac++6. Emails have been dispatched to the
  maintainers of dependent packages.

The Full Build log is available and can be viewed at:

Could you give us more details? What is your system, an i386 one or and
  amd64 one?

Currently it's an Intel-based (in case tis would matter, which I doubt) amd64
system, running self-compiled kernel 2.6.22-rc7 (whose configuration is mostly
the same as for official Debian kernel, I only switched CPU optimization on
 and USB suspend off).

Also, please give us the exact error message that appears when the
  problem arise.

 Here's an excerpt from syslog:

Jul 19 09:48:11 kingu kernel: dpkg[30696]: segfault at rip
  rsp 7fffaf8ff4c8 error 14
Jul 19 09:48:12 kingu kernel: rm[30697]: segfault at rip

Jul 19 09:48:32 kingu kernel: ls[30701]: segfault at rip
  rsp 709204e8 error 14

And so on, and so on. These segfaults come from dpkg trying to continua with
installing debs, then there are myriads of identical segfaults from the stuff
that's spawned by init, until I do a hard reboot. After this init crashes with
 the same message.

Hope that helps. If I can provide any additional info I'll be happy to do it.

Ok, that's mean the problem is different, the only thing is common is
that it is most probably due to your configuration, as this package is
installed on thousand of machines without any problem.

First, could you please make sure you don't have any LD_* environment
variables defined (like LD_LIBRARY_PATH or LD_PRELOAD).

Then would it be possible to send us the output of ls -l /lib?

Aurelien

 Hi,

 some quick remarks:

It looks like your perl installation on the specific machine is somehow
broken. The best information source I have found after some googling is
 [1].

Maybe the output of the following commands on the problematic and on a
working machine will narrow down the problem:

 perl -e use Scalar::Util 'weaken'
 dpkg -l perl-base
 debsums perl-base
 perl -MScalar::Util -MData::Dumper -e 'print Dumper(\%INC)'
 perl -V

If the first statement fails on the on the specific machine, but
succeeds on the working machine, then it is either a broken perl
installation or a bug in the perl packages. In either case
apt-show-versions is only a problem victim, but not its cause.

OK, the working machine outputs nothing, but the non-working says:

$ perl -e use Scalar::Util 'weaken'
Weak references are not implemented in the version of perl at -e line 1
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at -e line 1.

The bad machine has this includes that aren't in the good machine:

  'Config.pm' = '/usr/lib/perl/5.8/Config.pm',
  'Exporter/Heavy.pm' = '/usr/share/perl/5.8/Exporter/Heavy.pm',
  'AutoLoader.pm' = '/usr/share/perl/5.8/AutoLoader.pm',
  'DynaLoader.pm' = '/usr/lib/perl/5.8/DynaLoader.pm',

Can you please give me any more help in this issue?

Since this isn't an apt-show-versions bug, but probably a perl-base one, I'm
trying to reassign it to the perl-base package. Please act otherwise, if you
think this is not the propper way to deal with this problem.

FWIW, this is fixed by upgrading to (at least) Email::MIME 1.858. However,
in the meantime, the libemail-simple-perl upgrade to 2.002-1 has caused
more test failures that are fixed upstream in Email::MIME::Modifier 1.442.

I have both libemail-mime-perl 1.860 and libemail-mime-modifier-perl

Hi,

The copyright file in this package does not include
the location of the upstream sources, which is a violation of
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-docs.html#s-copyrightfile
(the copyright file must say where the upstream sources (if any) were
obtained).

Julien Cristau told me that the xfonts-* packages include a bunch of
different fonts from http://xorg.freedesktop.org/releases/individual/font/
I'll fix the copyright file, thanks for noticing. :)

Bug#432323: Patch doesn't help?

2007-07-24 Thread Steve Greenland
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but applying this patch to 0.4.5.4-1
did not make my lockups go away.

I did the following on my sid system:

apt-get source aptitude
apt-get build-deps aptitude
cd aptitude-v
edited src/vscreen/vscreen.cc to add braces, here's the current fragment:
   if(result != 1)
  {
if(errno != EINTR) {
// Probably means that there was an error reading
// standard input. (could also be ENOMEM)
  vscreen_post_event(new fatal_input_error(errno));
  break;
}
  }
else...

edited changelog to add new version
debian/rules build
fakeroot debian/rules binary
Installed the resulting dpkg. Dates on /usr/bin/aptitude show it to
be the new version.

This was indeed the case as I found out. The problem was that
ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 is being searched in /lib64 while libc.so.6 -- in /lib.
With libc6-amd64 still installed files in /lib came from libc6 while contents
of /lib64 -- from libc6-amd64. Obviously this worked only if libc versions in
both directories were the same...

Sorry for bothering you.

I've applied this patch on one of my etch boxes that often experiences
this crash. It's quite memory-contrained, so any memory leaks should
also be reasonably obvious. I'll report results as I get them.

I've been running this for nearly a week on my medium-volume backup MX,
and if there's a memory leak, it's a very slow one. My baseline
(off-peak) vsize for spfmilter started out as 10340 on 7/20 and then
increased to 10396 on 7/21 and to 10460 on 7/23. Nonetheless, it does
appear to be leaking. I can't actually prove that it's libspf0 leaking,
though, since I'm not stable enough without the patch to take any real
measurements.

According to my etch system, whitelister is the only other package using
libspf0. It's probably worth getting in touch with its maintainer to get
his take.

Due to some changes in the build procedure the package is missing some

Looks like I shouldn't file bug reports to my own packages... :-)

Ok, qca2.pc actually is in the package, which should be ok. Still I had
problems compiling software using qca2. The reason was a version check
for QCA_VERSION = 0x02. -beta2 actually had that QCA_VERSION, but in
later betas, the version was _decreased_ to 0x016363 (1.99.99). Noticing
that, I hope now I'm able to compile some tests against qca2.

As I am an optimist, I already close this bug, as obviously the package
is fine. And after all, qca2 is still in experimental, which looks like
a good excuse for all the other silly bugs I may have missed...

Actually the packages provides its own copy of awe_voice.h, for

does (it does compile, and since that's almost the same header, the

It looks like your deb unpacking somehow is corrupted. It could be because of

I am using the exact same binaries here without any problems.

Please try reinstall kdelibs4c2a.

And please - in the future try to use english output from commands.

Hi,

While reviewing packages that were not included in Etch, your package
came up as a package that should maybe be orphaned by its maintainer,
because:
 * RC bug opened for ~200 days with no answer from the maintainer
 * new upstream release available

If you think that it should be removed from Debian instead of being
orphaned, please reply to this bug and tell so.

If you agree that it should be orphaned, sending the following commands
to [EMAIL PROTECTED] should do it (after replacing nn with
this bug's number):

severity nn normal
reassign nn wnpp
retitle nn O: jetty -- Java servlet engine and webserver
thanks

For more information, see
http://www.debian.org/doc/developers-reference/ch-pkgs.en.html#s-archive-manip
http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/

If you disagree and want to continue to maintain this package, please
close this bug, preferably in an upload also fixing the other issues.

Thank you,

Hi Loïc _o/

Easy patch: just add libcal3d12-dev to the libcal3d*-dev alternative and
the package builds fine; tagging accordingly.

Cheers,
