Package: flpsed
Version: 0.3.7-1.1
Severity: grave

I suspect the ghostscript/gs upgrades in unstable are responsible,
however flpsed in unstable is currently unusable:

~$ flpsed Receipts/quickim.ps
exec: No such file or directory
Please install ghostscript and make sure 'gs' is in the PATH.

I haven't looked too deeply, but I have packaged
flpsed 0.5.0 which does function correctly and is available
at http://people.debian.org/~msp and am happy to NMU if
wanted. (See also Bug#401205)

Bug#461640: gnu-efi needs to build-depend on >= 2.17.50.0.14

2008-01-19 Thread Jonas Smedegaard
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

I found the following text in README.gnuefi:

** Prerequisites:

To develop x86 and x86_64 EFI applications, the following tools are
needed:

 - gcc-3.0 or newer (gcc 2.7.2 is NOT sufficient!)
As of gnu-efi-3.0b, the Redhat 8.0 toolchain is known to work,
but the Redhat 9.0 toolchain is not currently supported.

 - A version of "objcopy" that supports EFI applications. To
check if your version includes EFI support, issue the
   command:

 objcopy --help

and verify that the line "supported targets" contains the
string "efi-app-ia32" and "efi-app-x86_64". The binutils
release
   binutils-2.17.50.0.14 supports Intel64 EFI.

So this bug should be fixed by adding a build-dependency on
binutils >= 2.17.50.0.14

Kind regards,

  - Jonas

Bug#461640: gnu-efi: FTBFS in etch

2008-01-19 Thread Jonas Smedegaard
Package: gnu-efi
Version: 3.0d-1

Building in an environment with a backported binutils
2.18.1~cvs20080103-1 succeeds, so it seems gnu-efi needs to versioned
build-dependency on binutils.

Hello,

I received 2 mails in less than 4 hours asking whether build9 fits for a
stable release. Instead of answering again and again, here is my point:

It's hard to say.

It's already playable as is. Solo games do work but are maybe a bit boring
since the AI doesn't. There is 2 tutorial scenario. The multi-player games
between human on LAN are supposed to work (I never tried it myself), and WAN
doesn't work yet (we're waiting for ggz to stabilize).

So, yeah, I'd say that it fits for a stable release since some parts are.
But you can argue that those parts are rather thin.

I may ask upstream, if you feel it necessary.

In the meanwhile, please comment here in the BR so that the discussion keeps
open and logged.

Thanks,
Mt.

Hi there!

Due to the recent removal of apache (including it's accompanied
packages of apache-common, apache-dbg, apache-dev, apache-doc,
apache-perl and apache-ssl) and libapache-mod-perl your package most
propably isn't able to get installed or built anymore. These are the

libapache-template-perl (dependency): libapache-mod-perl

Please either send the ftp team a removal request for your package if

We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

libapache-template-perl | 0.09-4 | source, alpha, amd64, arm, hppa, i386,
ia64, m68k, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.

Packages are never removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems.

Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically
removed from the Bug Tracking System. Please check all open bugs and
close them or re-assign them to another package if the removed package
was superseded by another one.

Hi there!

Due to the recent removal of apache (including it's accompanied
packages of apache-common, apache-dbg, apache-dev, apache-doc,
apache-perl and apache-ssl) and libapache-mod-perl your package most
propably isn't able to get installed or built anymore. These are the
problems your package currently has:

libapache-mod-repository (dependency): apache-common

Please either send the ftp team a removal request for your package if
it isn't able to work with apache2, or update it to build (only)
packages for apache2.

We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

libapache-mod-repository | 0.3-11 | source, alpha, amd64, arm, hppa, i386,

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the

Bug#461157: still FTBFS + some more changes

2008-01-19 Thread Piotr Ożarowski
reopen 461157
thanks

Hi Cédric,

gaphor still FTBFS - python-setuptools and python-nose should be moved to
Buil-Depends for clean target and ez_setup disabled in setup.py to fix this
bug.

I also made few more changes (see attached diff.gz), here's a cut-and-paste
from the changelog:

  * Moved python-setuptools and python-nose to Build-Depends (for clean target)
  * Add disable_ez_install patch, dpatch added to Build-Depends
  * Add remove_shebangs patch (previously in diff.gz)
  * Removed Encoding line from gaphor.desktop file, added Version=1.0
  * Versions of required build dependencies bumped:
+ python-support to 0.6.4 - to handle Eggs well
+ python-nose to 0.9.2 - needed to run tests
  * Add python-cairo, python-gnome2 and python-gtk2 to Depends

about moving patches to dpatch - I saw dpatch in other package of yours so I
used it for disable_ez_install.dpatch. Then I noticed there are more changes in
diff.gz, so I converted them to dpatch as well - hope you don't mind.

BTW: there was an additional gaphor/UML/uml2.py file in diff.gz (automatically
generated by build_uml.py) - I didn't move it to dpatch, please check if this
file is required)

Package: phpbb3
Version: 3.0.0~RC7-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

After installing the package, I was following the instructions in
README.Debian. I logged in as Admin, and clicked on 'Administrator
Control Panel' and it asked me to type in my password again.

I get:
General Error
You need to enter your password to access the Administration Control
Panel.

I tried to find a fix for this by searching with Google and found this
problem reported several times, but the only fix I could find was to
update to RC7 style templates. I checked that the specific part of the
login template that needed to be fixed for this was already up to RC7
specification (as was expected since I have just installed RC7 with no
prior phpbb installation present, and have not added any styles or
anything). I have not yet changed any configuration settings, having
been unable to.

Discussed in http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2007/05/msg01173.html

With glibc-2.5 and gcc-4.1.2 (and gcc-4.2), the 'long double'
data type did change from a 64bit representation to a 128bit
representation on alpha, powerpc, sparc, s390. To allow
partial upgrades of packages, we will need to rename all
packages holding libraries with the long double data type in
their API. Both libc and libstdc++ do not need to be renamed,
because they support both representations. We rename the library
packages on all architectures to avoid name mismatches between
architectures (you can avoid the renaming by supporting both
datatype representations in the library as done in glibc and
libstdc++, but unless a library is prepared for that, it does not
seem to be worth the effort).

It is suggested to rename a package libfoo1 to libfoo1ldbl;
please wait with the renaming if the package depends on
another library package which needs renaming.

This package has been indentified as one with header files in
/usr/include matching 'long *double'. Please close this bug report
if it is a false positive, or rename the package accordingly.

Bug#461603: scribus: FTBFS on amd64: Uses lib64.

2008-01-19 Thread Kurt Roeckx
Package: scribus
Version: 1.3.3.11.dfsg-1
Severity: grave

Hi,

Your package is failing to build on amd64 with the following error:
chmod 755
/build/buildd/scribus-1.3.3.11.dfsg/debian/scribus/usr/lib/scribus/plugins/*.sochmod:

`/build/buildd/scribus-1.3.3.11.dfsg/debian/scribus/usr/lib/scribus/plugins/*.s+o':
No such file or directory
make: *** [binary-arch] Error 1

The problem is that the files have been put in /usr/lib64/ instead of
/usr/lib. On Debian those files should be put in /usr/lib. Things will
break if you ship them in /usr/lib64/.

It FTBFSs for me in an unstable pbuilder. I don't know if it makes a

Do the buildds use dash? I was hoping to work on this but it's a damn

Bug#459649: f-spot: Extensions broken on upgrade

2008-01-19 Thread Sikon
Judging by Ubuntu feedback, this seems to be a libflickrnet issue.

libflickrnet was recently involved in a clusterfuck in Ubuntu Hardy:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libflickrnet/+bug/182130 and there
are apparently still some incompatibilities with the new mono.

For Ubuntu user Dani Alonso, even the mautil workaround didn't help. Instead,
it output errors:
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11440518/mautil_fspot_output.txt

My theory is that libflickrnet fails to register somewhere:

Assembly not found: FlickrNet, Version=2.1.5.0, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=2491df59efa5d132

...causing errors in the F-Spot export classes:

Load exception: System.TypeLoadException: Could not load
type 'FSpot.FlickrExport' from assembly 'f-spot, Version=0.4.1.0,
Culture=neutral'.

...which in turn results in the entire export extension breaking, since the
export code throws an exception before defining extension points:

WARNING: The add-in 'FSpot.__GalleryExport,1.0' is trying to
extend '/FSpot/Menus/Exports', but there isn't any add-in defining this
extension point

Unlike meebey, though, I didn't look at the F-Spot source, so I may be wrong.

Bug#461469: qbankmanager doesn't find aqhbci backend after upgrade

Yes it helps, but thats no solution as libaqbanking20-plugins-qt
depends on libaqofxconnect4, which I don't want to install. If I remove
the ofx stuff and the plugins-qt QBM stops working again.

Probably the plugins should only be recommends, or there should be a
virtual libaqbanking20-plugin package which is provided by any of the
plugin packages and libaqbanking20-plugins-qt should only depend on the
virtual package.

Bug#459649: f-spot: Extensions broken on upgrade

2008-01-19 Thread Sikon
This bug has been reported in Ubuntu:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/f-spot/+bug/184062

I wonder if the "20 refresh menus" patch is responsible.

As for me, I had the Export menu empty before the upgrade to 0.4.1-1, where it
was populated thanks to the "refresh menus" patch. A second upgrade to
0.4.1-4ubuntu2 went smoothly and the menus are still populated.

Now I can't reproduce the problem anymore.

gtk-sharp2 is a meta package, that would fix it incorrectly. Depending
on the needed libgtk/glade/gnome/whatever2.0-cil packages would fix it
correctly though.

Bug#461527: kerry: architecture list restricted for no good reason?

2008-01-19 Thread Philipp Kern
Package: kerry
Version: 0.2.2-1
Severity: serious

Why did you restrict kerry's architecture list? In the changes you
mentioned `* Arch: amd64 arm i386 ia64 powerpc to assist
buildserver.net'. This looks very bogus to me. kerry's old version is
in the archive for hppa, s390 and sparc, thus your package will not
migrate, as long as the old binaries are present in unstable. A removal
request ought to be filed. If you are depending on mono: it is
available on s390 and sparc now, but it is nothing you should have to
care about. It would dep-wait automatically on the Debian buildds.

Kind regards,
Philipp Kern

Can you please install package libaqbanking20-plugins-qt and say wether
