Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
i386.

This rebuild was done with gcc 4.3 instead of gcc 4.2, because gcc 4.3
is now the default on most architectures (even if it's not the case on
i386 yet). Consequently, many failures are caused by the switch to gcc
4.3.
If you determine that this failure is caused by gcc 4.3, feel free to
downgrade this bug to 'important' if your package is only built on i386,
and this bug is specific to gcc 4.3 (i.e the package builds fine with
gcc 4.2).

Ugh. I was thinking about making 03_autoinstall skip all tests if
AUTOMATED_TESTNG is set. That would hopefully work around the ftbfs.

I've done this in SVN, please take a look.

This is a problem of lacking the build-dependency on
xutils-dev, which contains xmkmf. because of this, the
appropriate option isn't passed to gcc.

Anyway, this is already fixed in my local repository. I'll
upload soon.

Bug#468797: dynamips: dpkg-buildpackage -b fails on amd64

Hi,

Am 08.06.2008 um 22:12 schrieb Faidon Liambotis:

Any reason why this fix is not present (i.e. uncommented) in Debian?
This is an RC-bug, preventing dynamips from being included in testing.
The reason for that is, I have not found time to create build
environments for non i386 or amd64 architectures to test the build
process. Provide build logs for all the architectures and I will
enable it in rules file.

Justification: makes package unsuitable for release

Hi,

The version of vblade currently in unstable and testing doesn't work at
all (probably because of #423408). The new upstream release (16) works
fine. Please consider packaging it.

Bug#477027: jpoker: FTBFS: HTTP Response 404 fetching http://gems.rubyforge.org/yaml

2008-06-08 Thread peter green
It seems that tiddlywiki_cp is under a suitable license though the
licenecing could do with a bit of cleanup (the license headers are
missing from some files but one of those files looks like trivial
boilerplate code to me and the others are just test code, an install
script is lgpl v2 only but I don't think that is related to the other
code in the package). Unfortunately it is not currently packaged in debian.

It looks to me like there are two ways to fix this bug
1: package tiddlywiki_cp seperately and build-depend on it
2: include the tiddlywiki_cp code in the jpoker source

option 1 seems the more sensible option to me.

note: I'm just doing quick investigations of/trying to prepare patches
for rc bugs, i'm not a dd and I don't code in ruby.

Bug#458716: NMU: Added libdbus-1-dev to fix the FTBFS

2008-06-08 Thread Marco Rodrigues

Hi!

I'm attaching a debdiff that fixes the current FTBFS. It'll fix for Debian and
Ubuntu.

No need to have pkg-config in Build-Depends to build it correctly.

Thanks

Package: avant-window-navigator
Version: 0.2.6-4
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 7.2

Hi!

The package only losely suggests compiz, and even there not as its
primary preference:

Suggests: metacity (>= 2.21.5) | xcompmgr | compiz | xfwm4 (>= 4.2)

Though, trying to start avant-window-navigator gives this message:

#v+
Error: Screen isn't composited. Please run compiz (-fusion) or another
compositing manager.
#v-

It seems to be running somehow, but does nothing at all. Opening
awn-manager does show that it should display something. I haven't found
anything in the documentation about what could be meant with "another
compositing manager", but given that metacity is in the Suggests next to
compiz (which is explicitly mentioned) leaves me in the impression that
it should be enough.

Would be kind to know what I'm doing wrong, if compiz is really
required, and last but least: Why it's only a Suggests and not a Depends
if it is required.

 So long,
Rhonda

Thanks Riku,

Andi, given this is looking like a bug not with mapnik itself, would it
be okay to lower the severity, or even reassign it somewhere else?

Dominic.

Bug#485229: python-tagpy: fails to init with undefined symbol

Hi

As I'm running a bit out of ideas, I'm asking tag maintainer, maybe
he can see what can be wrong:

So libtag does not export this symbol, but as far as I can see it is
defined in headers (taglib/id3v1genres.h):

namespace TagLib {
  namespace ID3v1 {
[...]
String genre(int index);

From my POV is looks like a missing symbol or export in libtag...

python testsuite, mentioned at:

The full build log is available from:
   http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2008/05/27

This rebuild was done with gcc 4.3 instead of gcc 4.2, because gcc 4.3
is now the default on most architectures (even if it's not the case on
i386 yet). Consequently, many failures are caused by the switch to gcc
4.3.
If you determine that this failure is caused by gcc 4.3, feel free to
downgrade this bug to 'important' if your package is only built on i386,
and this bug is specific to gcc 4.3 (i.e the package builds fine with
gcc 4.2).

A list of current common problems and possible solutions is available at
http://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS . You're welcome to contribute!

About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on about 50 AMD64 nodes
of the Grid'5000 platform, using a clean chroot containing a sid i386
environment. Internet was not accessible from the build systems.

The libapache-dbilogconfig-perl package has been removed from Debian testing,
unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read

this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.

Bug#468797: dynamips: dpkg-buildpackage -b fails on amd64

2008-06-08 Thread Faidon Liambotis

Erik, hi,
Any reason why this fix is not present (i.e. uncommented) in Debian?
This is an RC-bug, preventing dynamips from being included in testing.

I intend to do an NMU if you don't act on this bug soon.

Thanks,
Faidon

PS. If you ACK this NMU, would you ACK a move from non-free to contrib
which seems more appropriate?

This happens when ~/.cpan/CPAN/MyConfig.pm isn't seeded yet. The
CPAN::FirstTime module tries to prompt for the configuration, but the
magic in t/03_autoinstall apparently manages to override the prompt to
return 'n', which isn't a valid choice for an absolute path to the CPAN
build directory.

As a result the PROMPT loop in /usr/share/perl/5.10/CPAN/FirstTime.pm:653
is never exited.

I suppose we need to get the whole CPAN module to use something outside
$HOME. No idea how.

Justification: FTBFS on i386

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on i386.

This rebuild was done with gcc 4.3 instead of gcc 4.2, because gcc 4.3 is now
the default on most architectures (even if it's not the case on i386 yet).
Feel free to downgrade this bug to 'important' if your package is only built
on i386, and this bug is specific to gcc 4.3 (i.e the package builds fine with
gcc 4.2).

I'd look into this, but paer.d.o is still locked down.

Cc'ing the debian-hppa list. Could somebody please help out and give
me access to an hppa host where this is reproducible? Alternatively,
a patch for the bug would obviously be fine by me too :)

This bug should be fixed by xkeyboard-config 1.3-1.

Please reopen if it is still happening.

Package: amule
Version: 2.2.0~20080309-2
Severity: serious

Hi,

your package failed to build from source.

The reason seems to be a bad interaction of cpp, the cwchar header
(more specifically the #include_next directive) and the -isystem /usr/include
option.
If you believe that this should work feel free to reassign the bug to
the part you think is at fault. Dropping the -isystem /usr/include
option should work as a solution either way AFAICT.

hi Adeodato,

I wanted to try amule in experimental, but could not
properly install it, since libupnp2 is only compiled for freebsd...
so here comes the first question,
 - may amule depend on libupnp3 , that is available in sid ?

The second comment is: ince I really wanted to try it, I forced install
of amule even w/o libupnp2... and it works! So maybe
the dependency on libupnp2 is bogus? May it be a recommends?

a.

Please do not report issues for non-installable packages, as generally
we already know about them.

A new liboobs package is currently sitting in NEW so this is only a
transient issue.

As suggested (see the quoted answer from debian-sparc), I'm reassigning bug
#479185 to gcc-4.3.

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on i386.

Build deps using a | b are not supported by sbuild (they would cause
uncertainties in the resulting binary packages). Please depend
directly on plib-dev.

The full build log is available from:
   http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2008/04/01

A list of current common problems and possible solutions is available at
http://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS . You're welcome to contribute!

About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on about 50 AMD64 nodes
of the Grid'5000 platform, using a clean chroot containing a sid i386
environment. Internet was not accessible from the build systems.

What should I do to fix this?
Sorry, I am not really into packaging and I have very little knowledge about
it.

aptoncd does need lsb-release to word properly.

Copy /usr/share/doc/moc/examples/config.example.gz $HOME/.moc/
gunzip $HOME/.moc/config.example.gz and mv config.example
config. Edit config, find "# Layout1", uncomment and enjoy moc.

Bug#482894: vlc-nox: vlc needs a recompilation with the lastest ffmpeg lib

2008-06-08 Thread Gregory Hainaut
Package: vlc-nox
Followup-For: Bug #482894

Hi, I had the same problem of broken ffmpeg into vlc. A recompilation fix the
problem.
I suppose the reason is the update of ffmpeg (0.cvs20070307 to 0.svn20080206).

Note: the version 0.8.6.e-2.4 of vlc in the report is my self-compiled version.

Regards,
Gregory

Nice.
I don't have Debian machine at moment. I am trying hard to get it asap
and fix bug :)

I am not delegating work to users! I just asked as I really have no
idea at moment to fix this bug.

It is indeed deserve to fix. The latest upstream release was on: 12 March 2006.

Joe, can you please fix this annoying bug? Also, what about releasing
new version of sitecopy?

Christian, please look at bug also.

SDL does not build. Rather, it loops through configure endlessly.

To reproduce:
1) apt-get source libsdl1.2debian
2) cd libsdl1.2-1.2.13
3) dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot

I am using Debian Testing. I updated all of the packages today, except
for xorg, which I am keeping at 7.2

Sorry. This was my mistake. Before filing this report, I only gave 5
minutes for SDL to do it's thing, and then gave up. I realized I should
have been more patient, and tried again just now. SDL loops through
configure 8 times, probably one for each package it tries to build. It
takes almost 10 minutes to finish with configure.

I've split out the etc-in-svk stuff into a separate package (etcinsvk -
currently in NEW), and made debian-edu-config recommend this package.
It should make debian-edu-config installable even when svk is broken.

The changes are in svn, and we should upload a new version of
debian-edu-config when etcinsvk make it into the Debian archive. Or
perhaps we should upload it right away, to cut the hard dependency?

Happy hacking,

Well, this just looks like one more reason to have something to handle
removed packages from the archive... you shouldn't still have these packages
installed...

Anyways, looks like I'll have to remedy this...

The full build log is available from:
   http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2008/06/02

Hi,

While reviewing some packages, your package came up as a possible
candidate for removal from Debian, because:

 * Last maintainer upload in 2004.
 * Low popcon.
 * RC buggy.
 * Severely outdated, upstream has 1.0.3 according to
   http://camelbones.sourceforge.net/.

If you think that it should be orphaned instead of being removed from
Debian, please reply to this bug and tell so.

If you agree, sending the following commands to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
should do it (after replacing nn with this bug's number):
severity nn normal
reassign nn ftp.debian.org
retitle nn RM: camelbones -- RoM; outdated, unmaintained, RC buggy
thanks

For more information, see
http://wiki.debian.org/ftpmaster_Removals
http://ftp-master.debian.org/removals.txt

If you disagree and want to continue to maintain this package, please
just close this bug, preferably in an upload also fixing the other
issues.

Thank you,

Hi Daniel,

I can't reproduce this here, not even with all nameservers commented
out of /etc/resolv.conf (so it's not a case of the tests requiring
network access.)

Are you using a sitefinder-like lying DNS server that gives A records
for unexisting names? See e.g.

 http://lists.oarci.net/pipermail/dns-operations/2008-May/002678.html

In that case, I don't think this qualifies as 'serious' (although it
should probably be fixed anyway by disabling the corresponding tests.)
