Bug#540335: Acknowledgement (tar: locks machine attempting to write to tape drive)

2009-08-10 Thread Simon Gooley
Ok, thank you. Have looked further into it. Everything I've found suggests
to me that that I need to get the scsi supporting modules loaded. sg and
st. However now that I have them loading via /etc/modules at a boot time,
no /dev/st* devices are enabled and this message appears in the message log:

kernel: [ 17.705122] Driver 'st' needs updating - please use bus_type
methods

Also, and probably the clencher is that if found that the following command
also locks the machine:

mt -f /dev/ht0 status

Thanks for your help. I'll start looking into the scsi libraries i guess.
there's no-one saying they've actually got it working, just howto's.

Bug#540736: org-mode: documentation in ‘main’ under non-free license

2009-08-10 Thread Sebastien Delafond
On Aug/10, Ben Finney wrote:
The documentation for ‘org-mode’ is distributed under a non-free
 license [0], according to ‘debian/copyright’:

org-mode's documentation:

org-mode's orgcard is licensed under the GPL, and org-mode's manual
is dual licensed under the GPL and GFDL (with the following
restrictions:

Also, though not necessary to resolving this bug, it would be good to
communicate with the upstream author of ‘org-mode’ to see if the
documentation can be licensed under the same free terms as the rest of
the work. (If the FSF insist on having the terms of the FDL, the
author could dual-license the documentation under recipient's choice
of FDL or GPL to allow this.)

The upstream author is already dual-licensing a version of his
documentation, available at:

  http://orgmode.org/org_dual_license.texi

It's the version that I use in my package; I agree my phrasing in
debian/copyright is slightly misleading, perhaps it should read more
something like:

org-mode's manual is dual licensed under the GPL, and GFDL with the
  following restrictions: [...]

Or not mention the GFDL restrictions at all, since we use the GPL
licensing of the documentation anyway ? What do you think ?

Cheers,

Sorry, what question is it that I'm supposed to be answering here?

Yes, I am a DM, but I am not a DD. Most of my debian work has been
around the Haskell programming language. I've been pretty happy
with the way libsndfile has been maintained, but if it was to be
orphaned, I'd be happy to adopt it.

AFAICS, libsndfile is currently maintained.

Did you contact the maintainers announcing you would drop the .la file?
If so, then one could indeed argue that the maintainers should know what
is happening. Though now it looks like the maintainers are not aware and
most probably think there is an issue with libogg AFAICS.

Not all of them. There was mail traded with John Ferlito, who should be
adopting libtheora, libvorbis, libspiff, vorbis-tools, uriparser, libao,
so I considered those covered, likewise the other xiph codecs I maintain
which already have their .la removed.

I'm think I'm coming in rather late on this, but why were these .la
files removed? I've read through bug#539687 and its still not clear.

My apologies then, Luk was querying if the regular maintainer was MIA,
if you don't think so, that's pretty much all the answer we need on that.
#518037 is release critical though, and remains open still. Is there a

On Debian systems they add nothing but another point of failure.
At best, if they are perfectly correct, they are exactly equivalent
to not having one at all, in almost every case and certainly for
this library. At worst, when they are wrong, the effects range from
what was reported in #539889, to what has happened here until all
the rdeps have been rebuilt again.

Basically all we really need to know from you or Samuel is will this
package be uploaded in the near future, preferably with a fix to the
outstanding RC bug, or should it be added to the list of packages
that will just get a binNMU.

That one is basically down to me. I have found someone on the debian-mips
list that is willing to give me access to a MIPS machine. Unfortunately,
I've been busy and not had a chance to start work on it. I hope that
will change over the next couple of weeks.

On Debian systems they add nothing but another point of failure.
At best, if they are perfectly correct, they are exactly equivalent

Well, until libogg.la was removed all evidence I am aware of pointed
to them as being in perfect working order.

At worst, when they are wrong, the effects range from
 what was reported in #539889,

That was an aesthetic bug at best.

to what has happened here until all
the rdeps have been rebuilt again.

For this one libsndfile was working and a change in libogg broke it.
Futhermore, the use of the .la file is the default mode of operation for
autoconf/automake/libtool that libsndfile uses for configuration. it
was not brought about by some custom hack.

Basically all we really need to know from you or Samuel is will this
package be uploaded in the near future, preferably with a fix to the
outstanding RC bug, or should it be added to the list of packages

Thats Samuel's call, but if it was up to me, I would say that whoever
broke libsndfile by removing libogg.la should be doing a binNMU.

Erik

Bug#539001: more on qtiplot

2009-08-10 Thread Oscar Frasciello

Hi,
thanks a lot for your reply, don't worry for the time delay! :-)
The package works fine.
Please, excuse me if i ask you something else, but i's like to know if
there are any ways to:

1) enhance qtiplot speed..when several plots are made on a same project,
any change or operation (just as right-mouse clicking) takes really a
lot (too much) time, even on powerful machines (high-accelerated graphic
card provided) but more on light machines (just as my Asus eee-pc 1000H);

2) emulate many origin-like software plotting function every points;
it's useful when handling curves with a lot of data in a given range,
so one can plot not all the data set but a given sub-set choosen AMONG
all the data, for example among 400 data points i plot EVERY 10 so the
data plotted are just 40; i wasn't able to find, if it exist, this
option in qtiplot.

I'll really appreciate your support.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Cheers,
Oscar

Bug#536545: nvidia-glx-ia32 uninstallable and ia32-apt-get removed

2009-08-10 Thread Anders Boström
Now, ia32-apt-get is removed from sid, and a new version of ia32-libs
is in testing.

nvidia-glx-ia32 still depends on the unexistent packages ia32-libx11-6
and ia32-libxext6, and there are no sane way of resolving the depends.

I run testing as much as possible, but can't upgrade testing any more
due to this problem.

What is the plan forward? How is this going to be solved? New version
of nvidia-glx-ia32 only depending on the new version of ia32-libs?

Bug#536545: [patch] Re: nvidia-glx-ia32 uninstallable and ia32-apt-get removed

2009-08-10 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Hi,

attached is a patch to move back to the monolithic ia32-libs that just
reappeared in sid.

Package builds, dependencies look sane but I had no time to thoroughly
test it.

Andreas

PS: There is also a new 185.18.31 upstream release.

Anders Boström wrote:
Now, ia32-apt-get is removed from sid, and a new version of ia32-libs
 is in testing.

nvidia-glx-ia32 still depends on the unexistent packages ia32-libx11-6
and ia32-libxext6, and there are no sane way of resolving the depends.

I run testing as much as possible, but can't upgrade testing any more
 due to this problem.

What is the plan forward? How is this going to be solved? New version
of nvidia-glx-ia32 only depending on the new version of ia32-libs?

 / Anders

Bug#540449: gnutls version checking too strict

 Hello,
The gnutls 2.8 series will absolutely fail to work if the currently
installed version of libtasn1 or libgcrypt is not greater or equal
than the version gnutls was built against. This is much too cautious
since the libtasn1 ABI has not changed at all since 1.6. A gnutls
binary built against libtasn1 2.3 will work perfectly fiine with e.g.
 libtasn1 2.0.

It also makes our (Debian and probably other distributors) life
unnecessary difficult, without any benefit for us, we already track
 ABI through dependencies.

Please undo these changes, proposed patch against GIT HEAD attached.
 thanks, cu andreas

Hi. Just in time for the 2.8.2 release. :-)

I applied it somewhat differently, see:

Sven Joachim dixit:

Because dash now always sets up a diversion, and you cannot have more
than one package divert the same file (see #273093).

Ah, great. So there now is *no* way to tell dash to not divert it?

We *really* need to have something like a shared/binsh debconf,
like the debconf docs show for window-manager.

This is blocking my upload of an updated mksh.

Bug#540610: [DRE-maint] Bug#540610: rubygems: integrity violation

2009-08-10 Thread Gunnar Wolf
Michael S. Gilbert dijo [Sun, Aug 09, 2009 at 11:58:04PM -0400]:
  I tried testgem downloaded from
  http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278566.

  % sudo gem install testgem-0.0.1.gem
  Successfully installed testgem-0.0.1
  1 gem installed
  Installing ri documentation for testgem-0.0.1...
  File not found: lib

(I think that making document files causes this error.)

  % ls /var/lib/gems/1.8/bin/less
  /var/lib/gems/1.8/bin/less

  So, /usr/bin/less is not overwritten.
Debian's RubyGems is patched to replace the upstream's indiscriminate
  default
  directory.

ok, but when you run 'less', does that run /usr/bin/less
or /var/lib/gems/1.8/bin/less? if it is the latter, then there is
 definately a problem here.

No, Debian's path does not include /var/lib/*/bin - The default paths,
set by /etc/profile, read:

if [ `id -u` -eq 0 ]; then
  PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin
else
  PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/games
fi

Requiring rubygems does not change it, even from within Ruby:

$ irb
irb(main):001:0 require 'rubygems'
= true
irb(main):002:0 system 'echo $PATH'
/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/games
= true

So I think this bug does not bite us.

Description:

In gd_compat.[hc]

gdJpegGetVersionString() is declared as returning int not const
char*, but sizeof(int) != sizeof(const char*) on some systems like
here sizeof(int) == 4 and sizeof(const char*) == 8.

this causes a segfault on phpinfo().

Bug#540816: Two .asd's installed

2009-08-10 Thread Rupert Swarbrick

Package: cl-sql
Version: 4.0.5-4
Severity: grave

The current cl-sql package installs two copies of clsql.asd:

rup...@hake:~ dpkg -L cl-sql | grep asd
/usr/share/common-lisp/source/clsql/sql/clsql.asd
/usr/share/common-lisp/source/clsql/clsql.asd
/usr/share/common-lisp/systems/clsql.asd

Only the second one should be there. Also, the symlink seems to point at
the first, which doesn't work since the relative urls are wrong. They
end up with the following problem:

* (require :clsql)

(I set the severity to grave since, unless the user is quite
knowledgeable about asdf, they won't be able to load clsql because of
this bug)

Bug#539687: marked as done (libogg-dev: Removal of .la should have been coordinated with other packages)

2009-08-10 Thread Peter Samuelson

[Erik de Castro Lopo]
I'm think I'm coming in rather late on this, but why were these .la
files removed? I've read through bug#539687 and its still not clear.

I can't speak for Ron, but in general, the reason to remove .la files
is that pkg-config (and the .pc files in /usr/lib/pkgconfig) offers the
same functionality, and more, with considerably less brokenness. We'd
like to encourage upstreams to ship .pc files and use pkg-config in
their configure.ac scripts as the primary means of detecting the
presence of other libraries and how to use them.

Package: cl-sql
Version: 4.0.5-4
Severity: grave

The current cl-sql package installs two copies of clsql.asd:

Only the second one should be there. Also, the symlink seems to point at
the first, which doesn't work since the relative urls are wrong. They
end up with the following problem:

Package: hal
Version: 0.5.13-2
Severity: critical

Updating, or reinstalling 0.5.13-2 of the hal packages completely
hoses my whole system:
- keyboard is gone
- /dev seems to be gone

When reinstalling I get:
Reloading system message bus config...Failed to open connection to system
message bus: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket:
Connection refused
invoke-rc.d: initscript dbus, action force-reload failed.
Starting Hardware abstraction layer: haldinvoke-rc.d: initscript hal, action
start failed.
dpkg: error processing hal (--install)
...

Wonderful.

It might be that concoction of insserv that is playing a role here, since
when I tried to login in single user mode the PATH of root didn't contain
/usr/sbin, and several other strange things occurred while shutting down.

Then, even better, calling halt from single user mode didn't do a proper
shutdown, on next reboot:
/dev/sda3 contains a file system with errors, check forced.
Even better.

That is a *real* pain.

Bug#538822: Bug#540512: dash upgrade breaks mksh-as-/bin/sh

Ah, great. So there now is *no* way to tell dash to not divert it?

Apparently not. But even if there were, it would trigger the file
conflict in #538822 because *both dash and bash* ship /bin/sh now.
AFAICS the only possibility to have another package take over /bin/sh is
to remove it from either dash or bash.

We *really* need to have something like a shared/binsh debconf,
like the debconf docs show for window-manager.

Do you have an idea how to implement that? Managing /bin/sh through the
alternatives system does not seem very prudent.

Sven

Hi. Just in time for the 2.8.2 release. :-)

I applied it somewhat differently, see:
 http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/gnutls.git/commit/?id=860605be8f3b344738548ecfe0f1a6e6cb357c0b

Thanks for fixing this very quickly.

I will try to find time for a (2.8.3, probably ;-) upload tomorrow.

I thought Guillem was going to talk to you to see what the best way was

Guillem: do you think the only sane way out is to not have bash ship
/bin/sh? If so, how would bash preferably be adapted?

Bug#540610: [DRE-maint] Bug#540610: rubygems: integrity violation

   % ls /var/lib/gems/1.8/bin/less
   /var/lib/gems/1.8/bin/less

   So, /usr/bin/less is not overwritten.
Debian's RubyGems is patched to replace the upstream's indiscriminate
   default
   directory.

ok, but when you run 'less', does that run /usr/bin/less
or /var/lib/gems/1.8/bin/less? if it is the latter, then there is
  definately a problem here.

No, Debian's path does not include /var/lib/*/bin - The default paths,
 set by /etc/profile, read:

 if [ `id -u` -eq 0 ]; then
   PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin
 else
   PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/games
 fi

Requiring rubygems does not change it, even from within Ruby:

 $ irb
 irb(main):001:0 require 'rubygems'
 = true
 irb(main):002:0 system 'echo $PATH'
 /usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/games
 = true

So I think this bug does not bite us.

ok, sounds like a non-issue to me then.

Description: GRand Unified Bootloader, version 2 (PC/BIOS version)
GRUB is a portable, powerful bootloader. This version of GRUB is based on a
cleaner design than its predecessors, and provides the following new features:
 .
  - Scripting in grub.cfg using BASH-like syntax.
  - Support for modern partition maps such as GPT.
  - Modular generation of grub.cfg via update-grub. Packages providing GRUB
add-ons can plug in their own script rules and trigger updates by invoking
update-grub2.
  - VESA-based graphical mode with background image support and complete 24-bit
color set.
  - Support for extended charsets. Users can write UTF-8 text to their menu
entries.
 .
This package contains a version of GRUB that has been built for use with
 traditional PC/BIOS architecture.

Bug#540865: libxml2: CVE-2009-2414, CVE-2009-2416 pointer-user-after-free and stack overflow because of function recursion

2009-08-10 Thread Nico Golde
Source: libxml2
Severity: grave
Tags: security patch

Hi,
the following CVE (Common Vulnerabilities Exposures) ids were
published for libxml2.

CVE-2009-2416[0]:
| Pointer use-after-free flaws were found in libxml by parsing Notation
| and Enumeration attribute types. A remote attacker could provide
| a specially-crafted XML file, which once opened by a local, unsuspecting
| user would lead to denial of service (application crash).

CVE-2009-2414[1]:
| A stack overflow flaw was found in libxml by parsing root XML document
| element DTD definition. Providing a specially-crafted XML file would
| lead to excessive stack growth and denial of service (application crash),
| when opened by a victim.

If you fix the vulnerabilities please also make sure to include the
CVE ids in your changelog entry.

Bug#540867: pdns-recursor: Build-Depends on libc6-dev

2009-08-10 Thread Kurt Roeckx
Source: pdns-recursor
Version: 3.1.7.1-1
Severity: serious

Hi,

You seem to have added a build-depedency on libc6-dev (= 2.7-14)
for some reason. I really doubt that you need a version
build-dependency on that version, or even a build depedency
at all.

Note that libc6-dev is build-essential, and that the binary
package is not named the same on all arches. For intance
it's libc6.1-dev on alpha and ia64.

 Hello,

 please have a look on
 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=540506#38

It is not solved for me (and see my later response).

As written in the devref (or where was it?) only the maintainer should
 close/reassign/clone reports :)

The original bug submitter can of course close the bug report.

It's very unfortunate that you started to hijack this bug report with your
wlan problems (where there is a separate bug already), when this bug report
 was
 about something different.

So closing this one again, and let's deal with the wlan problems in #540613,
 shall we.
If #540613 doesn't match your problem, please report a new one and please
 provide more specific details.

Ok here, as I stated before I think that are two different bugs :)

I have written in
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=540506#38 =

Hello,

I do not think that the submitter is wrong with his bug.

I updated to 0.5.13-2 and my complete wlan was broken, the LED does not
show up any activity, the module wasn't loaded (sometimes), network
manager could not find the device, sometimes also iwconfig does not show
it up.

Then after some modprobe -r and modprobe iwconfig list my wlan device
but it does not work.

Now I just downgraded hal to 0.5.12~git20090406.46dc48-2 and everything
was working like before.

I am using the debian 2.6.30-1 i386 Kernel.

The submitter reported, that only his n-m does not work anymore, what is
also the case here, but also iwconfig does not report mostly the device,
sometimes it does, but then n-m is still not able to to use it (it does
not show it up at all anymore).

Downgrading solves the problem at all.

I hope you are ok with setting the severity to grave, atm it is grave
for me, because I can not use my laptop in my multi wireless lan
environments.

Bug#540890: debian-archive-keyring: decide upon squeeze key

2009-08-10 Thread Philipp Kern
Package: debian-archive-keyring
Version: 2009.01.31
Severity: serious
Justification: needs to be solved pre-release

We should decide if we take the squeeze key zobel and I created, and
which already got distributed to dato and luk and include it ASAP
(especially through a stable update also into Lenny).

Maybe we should also Shamir-share the key and a revocation cert.

Hi. Just in time for the 2.8.2 release. :-)

I applied it somewhat differently, see:

Thanks for fixing this very quickly.

I will try to find time for a (2.8.3, probably ;-) upload tomorrow.

Right, please wait a day or two for 2.8.3 to avoid the double work.

I think lenny (and etch?) needs upgraded packages, though, for the
security problem.

Package: mdbtools-gmdb
Version: 0.5.99.0.6pre1.0.20051109-4
Severity: serious
Tags: patch
Justification: no longer builds from source

The current mdbtools package fails to build from source. It used to, because
the libbonoboui-dev Build-Depends used to pull in libglade2-dev for us. But we
should list it explicitly now. libbonoboui-dev no longer does it for us.

The reason libglade2-dev is necessary is because ./configure checks for it,
doesn't find it, and so doesn't build the gmdb2 executable. Install fails
because it isn't found.

Trivial patch attached.

Bug#539687: marked as done (libogg-dev: Removal of .la should have been coordinated with other packages)

2009-08-10 Thread Erik de Castro Lopo
Peter Samuelson wrote:

 [Erik de Castro Lopo]
I'm think I'm coming in rather late on this, but why were these .la
files removed? I've read through bug#539687 and its still not clear.

 I can't speak for Ron,

Thanks Peter, you'll do.

but in general, the reason to remove .la files
is that pkg-config (and the .pc files in /usr/lib/pkgconfig) offers the
same functionality, and more, with considerably less brokenness.

I'm a big fan of pkg-config. Its a good solution to the problem.

  We'd
like to encourage upstreams to ship .pc files and use pkg-config in
their configure.ac scripts as the primary means of detecting the
presence of other libraries and how to use them.

And libsndfile has been using pkg-config for detecting all the libraries
it uses for at least three years.

The problem is that using the default pkg-config/autoconf/automake/libtool
behaviour to detect libxyz that ships libxyz.la file will create a
(probably unnecessary) dependency on that libxyz.la file.

I know this is 20/20 hindsight, but this could have been handled much
better by raising bugs against and fixing all the client libraries
*before* removing the libogg.la. It would probably also be a good idea
to discourage the shipping .la files in the debian policy manual and
adding it as a lintian warning.

Cheers,
Erik

Hi,

In SID, php-pear has a statement:

Replaces: php-xml-util, php4-pear ( 4:4.4.0-0)

meaning that, currently, it's impossible to install php-xml-serializer
completely because php-xml-util simply doesn't exist anymore. Switching the
dependency as suggested in the subject of this message would make the
package work in every situation (SID or Lenny).

Please do this change ASAP, as this is affecting other packages (including
the one that I am maintaining, and it's quite blocking my devs.). Thanks
in advance, and thank you for maintaining this package.

Bug#527762: Patch to fix the FTBFS

2009-08-10 Thread Kumar Appaiah

thanks

Please find attached a patch to fix the FTBFS. It detects the
pcap-bpf.h header instead of pcap.h, so that the new format pcap does
not cause confusion.

Should you need sponsorship, please let me know. Else I might consider
NMUing after a week or so.

Thanks!

Bug#539687: marked as done (libogg-dev: Removal of .la should have been coordinated with other packages)

2009-08-10 Thread Ron
On Tue, Aug 11, 2009 at 08:05:00AM +1000, Erik de Castro Lopo wrote:

  [Erik de Castro Lopo]
I'm think I'm coming in rather late on this, but why were these .la
files removed? I've read through bug#539687 and its still not clear.

  I can't speak for Ron,

Sorry Peter, I trimmed the cc list on my reply to Erik about this,
I figured that nobody on -release actually needed this explained
to them and it would just be noise there.

but in general, the reason to remove .la files
is that pkg-config (and the .pc files in /usr/lib/pkgconfig) offers the
same functionality, and more, with considerably less brokenness.

I'm a big fan of pkg-config. Its a good solution to the problem.

Just to be clear, this has nothing to do with pkg-config at all.
Using pkg-config isn't an alternate solution to the problem,
since there is no problem that the .la are solving for us here.

I could remove the .pc files for this lib too, and it would still
be perfectly functional, but that could be genuinely disruptive
and may require some people to edit their source, so I'm not
currently planning that. Even if I do think it's a gross overkill
for this particular package to be using it in the first place.

   We'd
like to encourage upstreams to ship .pc files and use pkg-config in
their configure.ac scripts as the primary means of detecting the
presence of other libraries and how to use them.

And libsndfile has been using pkg-config for detecting all the libraries
it uses for at least three years.

On any system with a functional linker and properly installed libraries
(ie. every Debian system), ALL you need for this library is '-logg'.
That's it. If you want to use Big Hammer infrastructure, designed for
horrors like gtk dependencies, and a more complex incantation to get
that, then that's your choice. But you don't _need_ any of those things
to use this library.

The problem is that using the default pkg-config/autoconf/automake/libtool
behaviour to detect libxyz that ships libxyz.la file will create a
(probably unnecessary) dependency on that libxyz.la file.

Definitely unnecessary, and its only libtool doing that. It will however
also work perfectly fine if it doesn't find a libxyz.la -- it's only when
it _does_ find one that the problems begin.

I know this is 20/20 hindsight, but this could have been handled much
better by raising bugs against and fixing all the client libraries
 *before* removing the libogg.la.

Given that a good proportion of them seem to be abandoned/unmaintained
at present, that wasn't going to work very well at all. This however
is going to shake those out relatively quickly and hopefully we can
correct that for a while again.

Sorry if we erred on the side of including your package in that group
but looking through some of the bug reports did give the impression
that you were much more active on it than its listed maintainer, and
that patches and suggestions from you and others weren't being acted
on, in a timely manner or at all.

It's also not entirely necessary for all client libraries to have their
own .la files removed, however much we may recommend this, and there
may even be some extremely rare case where it is actually needed for
one of them. As a minimal fix, they just need to be rebuilt with no
libogg.la present -- and that can't really be done _before_ libogg.la
is removed.

It would probably also be a good idea
to discourage the shipping .la files in the debian policy manual and
adding it as a lintian warning.

I'd agree with that. I don't know why it's never been done, this has
been common knowledge among a lot of people for a very long time now
(ie. since before the turn of the century). But that said, I don't
see a particular urgency in forcing people to do this, and indeed I've
no intention of forcing you to remove yours if you don't want to. But
I would recommend that you do, and I'm removing them from any packages
that I maintain, so that when they do cause problems, they are someone
else's problem, not mine.

I'm accepting responsibility for coordinating this transition, since
that is of my doing, but that's a one-off, not something that is going
to come out of nowhere and bite me later.

 Ron

Package: testng
Version: 5.9+dfsg-1
Severity: serious

I've added support for ant to the new version of debhelper
(currently in experimental, but unstable soon). Unfortunatly, it makes
this package fail to build.

Your rules file has:

build-stamp: patch
dh build
$(ANT) compile-15 compile-14 dist-no3rdparty javadocs

Previously, the 'dh build' was a no-op, because it didn't
know how to build, and the command just did nothing in that case.
But now, dh_auto_build tries to run ant:

sh-3.2# dh_auto_build -v
ant
Buildfile: build.xml

prepare:

validate:

copy-resources:

compile-14:
 [echo] -- Compiling 1.4 sources --
[javac] Compiling 223 source files to /tmp/testng-5.9+dfsg/build/jdk14

BUILD FAILED
/tmp/testng-5.9+dfsg/build.xml:115: /tmp/testng-5.9+dfsg/3rdparty not found.

To fix this, you can override dh_auto_build and manually call ant
with the necessary options:

override_dh_auto_build
$(ANT) compile-15 compile-14 dist-no3rdparty javadocs
