Hi,

What's that, and how could I fix? Do you think that upgrading to the
latest version of yum (which, the last time I saw, is 3.2.26) would fix
the issue? Is Fedora 13 running python 2.6? And what version of yum?

Can you try these packages (download them and install them with

It is a quick and dirty packaging of the last upstream 'stable' branch.
We will see if upstream already has a patch for this bug or not.

Bug#587734: amd64 and kfreebsd-amd64 in architecture list, but package fails to build

2010-07-01 Thread Matthias Klose

Package: mknbi
Version:1.4.4-5
Severity: serious

1.4.4-2 adds amd64 and kfreebsd-amd64 to the list of architectures, but the
package fails to build, using -mcpu=i386 unconditionally. If the package is
wanted to build on these architectures, then maybe -m32 -mcpu=i386 and a build
dependency on gcc-multilib is needed.

Bug#587743: gnucash: segfault on open

2010-07-01 Thread Roland Koebler
Package: gnucash
Version: 2.2.6-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Gnucash segfaults when opening an account-page:
- start gnucash
- open a gnucash-file or create a new one
- try to open an account
(e.g. click on Expenses, then double-click on Adjustment)
= Segmentation fault

*Maybe* this has something to do with newer gtk/gnome-libraries or other
libraries glade depends on, since I had to update glade and the libraries
(from lenny to testing) because glade has a serious bug in lenny, which
made it unusable for me.

What does that have to do with 587718? The bug is about not being
installable. The bug was solved by removing the dependencies on musixlyr and
musixtex-slurps? So that is fixed, it is installable (I have it installed
without any forcing).

The dependency on musixtex lacks the epoch.

That is a differnet bug, cloned, retitled, severity adjusted

Bug#586907: bug #586907 is still there

2010-07-01 Thread Sergio Fernández
Sure, I can't test with any unofficial package, but I don't have any

As I said, the patch applied it's not working as expected.

So, it was not a cache of pyc problem :-(

 With both
versions of python (2.6.5 and 2.5.5) I'm getting the error again:

   abort: authorization failed

It means that it is even worst with the patch as even python 2.5.5 is
 broken.

The only way I found to get back mercurial working it's to delete the
patch and go back to python.2.5 on the shebang.

Can you try these packages (download them and install them with
 dpkg -i *.deb) ?
 http://people.debian.org/~vdanjean/mercurial-test/
It is a quick and dirty packaging of the last upstream 'stable' branch.
We will see if upstream already has a patch for this bug or not.

    Vincent

Hi,

What's that, and how could I fix?

(Sorry, I should have Cc-ed you when reassigning.)
Apparently urlgrabber 3.9.1 broke yum badly, I'm not sure which package
is at fault here. See http://bugs.debian.org/587575#5 for traceback.

Do you think that upgrading to the latest version of yum (which, the
last time I saw, is 3.2.26) would fix the issue? Is Fedora 13 running
python 2.6? And what version of yum?

No idea here, sorry.

Bug#587748: initscripts: Dependency on 'find' under '/usr/'.

2010-07-01 Thread Mats Erik Andersson
Package: initscripts
Version: 2.88dsf-10
Severity: serious

The script /etc/init.d/urandom uses a path

   PATH=/sbin:/bin

yet it uses '$(find ...)' on line 36. Thus
the path must also contain '/usr/bin'.
In consequence the boot dependencies should
need a correction.

This was discovered using GNU/kfreebsd.

1.4.4-2 adds amd64 and kfreebsd-amd64 to the list of architectures, but the

scheduled apt and xapian transitions for squeeze, which this bug will

[Mats Erik Andersson]
The script /etc/init.d/urandom uses a path

PATH=/sbin:/bin

yet it uses '$(find ...)' on line 36. Thus the path must also
contain '/usr/bin'. In consequence the boot dependencies should
 need a correction.

Yes. This is a duplicate of #587665, where we try to come up with a
way to get this script working with only the tools available in /bin/
and /sbin/ to ensure the randomness pool is available very early
during boot.

 This was discovered using GNU/kfreebsd.

Thanks.

Happy hacking,

Vincent

Bug#587790: grub-pc: upgrade-from-grub-legacy exits with success (and deletes grub1) even when grub-setup fails

2010-07-01 Thread Lionel Elie Mamane
Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.98+20100617-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders system unbootable

grub-install fails with the following command error message:

/usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn: Your embedding area is unusually small. core.img
won't fit in it..
/usr/sbin/grub-setup: error: embedding is not possible, but this is required
when the root device is on a RAID array or LVM volume.

Leading me to think it will *not* successfully boot my system. But
upgrade-from-grub-legacy still deleted grub1, it says:

GRUB Legacy has been removed, but its configuration files have been preserved,
since this script cannot determine if they contain valuable information. If
you would like to remove the configuration files as well, use the following
command:

and indeed I don't find the grub1 files in /boot/grub, except for
menu.lst*.

So it has rendered my system unbootable, all because it ignores the
error return code of grub-install:

mas...@capsaicin:~ 0 $ sudo grub-install /dev/sda; echo $?
/usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn: Your embedding area is unusually small. core.img
won't fit in it..
/usr/sbin/grub-setup: error: embedding is not possible, but this is required
when the root device is on a RAID array or LVM volume.
1

Note that grub does not actually need RAID or LVM support to boot my
system, as the boot partition is on RAID1. My grub1 was configured to
just use /dev/sda5 (hd0,4) as root (and I would manually change that to
(hd1,4) in the interactive boot menu if the first disk were to become
defective).

Bug#587499: antlr3: mips build failure could be a buildd issue

2010-07-01 Thread Julien BLACHE
Hi,

Looks like the mips build failure could be a mips buildd issue and the
package may actually build fine if queued on the one mips buildd (ball)
that is known to work for Java.

Given the mips failure is out of family wrt hppa and kfreebsd-*, this
sounds plausible enough to ask for a requeue on mips.

Bug#587575: mock broken due to its sub components exit with python exception

2010-07-01 Thread Fathi Boudra
Do you think that upgrading to the latest version of yum (which, the
last time I saw, is 3.2.26) would fix the issue? Is Fedora 13 running
python 2.6? And what version of yum?

FC13 is running:
- python 2.6
- python-urlgrabber 3.9.1 (+patches)
- yum 3.2.27 (+patches)

Our automated buildd log filter[1] detected a problem that is likely to
cause your package to segfault on architectures where the size of a
pointer is greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64 and amd64.

Function `Createform' implicitly converted to pointer at main.c:113

This is often due to a missing function prototype definition.
For more information, see [2].

Though it is guaranteed that this codepath will cause a segfault on certain
architectures, it is not guaranteed that this codepath would ever be executed
(e.g., if the returned pointer is never dereferenced). However, this bug
does prevent the ia64 buildd from successfully building this package, resulting
in a practical FTBFS issue and warranting the serious severity.

Bug#587732: protobuf should B-D on default-jdk

 Hello,

the current version of protobuf could not be build on some architectures
(namely hppa, hurd and kfreebsd-*) because you build depend on
 openjdk-6-jdk, instead you should b-d on default-jdk.

Hmm, I see that depends on those architectures on gcj-jdk. I'll have to
see if the java bindings actually work with that jdk (I know it didn't
work with, for example, the 5 version of sun's jdk).

Since openjdk-6-jdk was available before on those arches, I hoped it
will come back. Do you think it won't?

Bug#587808: haskell-haddock: please upload to unstable for the sake of leksah packages

2010-07-01 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Package: haskell-haddock
Version: 2.7.2-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders other packages unbuildable, uninstallable

libghc6-haskell-leksah-dev is uninstallable because it depends on
libghc6-haskell-haddock-dev, which is only available in experimental;
in addition to fixing its FTBFS bug (#587807), could you please upload
it to unstable? (Doing so should also get haskell-leksah[-server] out
of BD-Uninstallable on most architectures.)

Thanks!

Bug#586907: bug #586907 is probably specific to debian python 2.6.5

2010-07-01 Thread Wagner Bruna
At this upstream issue:

http://mercurial.selenic.com/bts/issue2255

there's a patch that may fix this bug.

In short, it seems that the Python 2.6.5 package differs slightly from upstream
2.6.5, and that difference triggers the same bug for basic authentication (the
applied fix only deals with digest http authentication).

That second patch wasn't applied upstream, but I believe that fix will be
considered once 2.6.6 is released. If you apply it to the debian hg packages,
just bear in mind that it wasn't very well tested, and it's very dependant on
urllib2 behavior.

Regards,
Wagner

This package appears to be using -march=native. But it's not supported
on most architectures.
And, because - march=native is optimized to the machine that does
the build, the binary
that doesn't work with old CPU is build.

I made patch to fix this bug. Could you apply this patch?

Best regards,
 Nobuhiro

Please note that /usr/bin/runPmv still doesn't work (it doesn't work
with python2.5 as well, BTW). It warns about some deprecation warnings,
opens a window with a message that AutoLigandCommand module cannot be
loaded and then segfaults. I didn't try to fix it as it doesn't seem to
be related to #585252.

PS site/dist-packages should be cleaned, it contains data files, docs,

Package: haskell-haddock
Version: 2.7.2-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders other packages unbuildable, uninstallable

libghc6-haskell-leksah-dev is uninstallable because it depends on
libghc6-haskell-haddock-dev, which is only available in experimental;
in addition to fixing its FTBFS bug (#587807), could you please upload
it to unstable? (Doing so should also get haskell-leksah[-server] out
of BD-Uninstallable on most architectures.)

Thanks!

Bug#586143: Same problem

2010-07-01 Thread Vladimir 'φ-coder/phcoder' Serbinenko
On 06/18/2010 02:44 AM, André Nunes wrote:
Same problem here, bur a little bit worse: I can't get my system back!
I tryed to aptitude downgrade grub-pc and grub-common to 1.98-1 and
also to grub-legacy, but I keep getting the same error:

/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: no mapping exists for tagesuhu-root
Auto-detection of a filesystem module failed
Please specify the module with the option '--modules' explicitly

My system is encrypted with dm-crypt and luks, only the boot partition
 is left unencrypted.

Also, during aptitude update, I get a lot of messages regarding perl
not being able to read my locale settings

Any help just to get the system up?

Do you have LVM snapshots? If so this bug was recently fixed upstream.
