This is no bug. at least not in the version you report it against.

openoffice.org is dead. We have transitional packages (see #612813 for
why they are not in effect yet), but admittedly nothing for "openoffice.org"
metapackage.

Which, incidentally, just got removed:

Bug#612891: FTBFS with camlp5 6.02.1

2011-02-11 Thread Stéphane Glondu
Package: matita
Version: 0.5.8-2+b1
Severity: serious
Tags: upstream

Hello,

Matita currently fails to build from source with camlp5 6.02.1 [1]. It
seems to be the only blocker to a transition to camlp5
6.02.1. Upstream is currently working on a new release but cannot give
a timeframe on when it will be fixed. I suggest to have it removed
from testing meanwhile. I submit this bug to keep matita out of
testing.

Bug#612024: [Debian-ha-maintainers] Bug#612024: DETAILS: gfs2-tools: File corruption when copying large files to gfs filesystem

2011-02-11 Thread Olaf Reitmaier Veracierta
Hi,

It is not the solution because I have two servers using the same GFS2
partition.

I've done what you said (lock_nolock) but, in that case, I prefer to use
EXT3 filesystem to store my files.

Still having replicable corruption problems with large file (>6GB) on GFS2
filesystems.

¿It means you can't handle large files on GFS2?

a Debian derived distribution based on Debian stable (currently Lenny, our next
release will be based on Squeeze).

libfinance-quotehist-perl fails to build from source, see the following log.
Apparently some of the fetched stock data has changed?

Your package fails to build with the upcoming GCC 4.4. Version 4.4
has not been released yet but I'm building with a snapshot in order
to find errors and give people an advance warning.

GCC 4.4 cleaned up some more C++ headers. You always have to #include
headers directly and cannot rely for things to be included indirectly.
It's not obvious from the log but you need stdint.h for
int32_t/uint32_t.

You can reproduce this problem with gcc-snapshot from unstable.

Bug#612918: Uses /etc/wicd/wireless-settings.conf as state file

Hi,

Using etckeeper since recently, I noticed the following change:

… which indicates clearly that wicd uses the /etc/wicd/wireless-settings.conf
as a state file, dynamically modifying values under /etc/ depending on
external conditions.

AFAIK, this violates FHS; such state files must be under /var/run or /var/lib,
not under /etc.

Cheers,

Ugh. I use etckeeper since long, but I've always missed that change. Sigh.

I'm confirming the bug.
Hope I can fix it in time for 6.0.1.

I'll make it use a newly-created /var/run/wicd/status.

Thanks for the report,

Hi,

It seems that the shlibs version of libpcre3 must be bumped,
currently depending packages get wrong required version.

I guess that adding a .symbols file would be a good idea too.

Cheers

Dear maintainer,

The Debian Qt/KDE team is planning to remove the KDE3 and Qt3 libraries from
Debian shortly after the Squeeze release. The transition phase to KDE4 and Qt4
will finish since both KDE and Nokia upstream don't maintain the old versions
of those libraries anymore.

In order to make this move, all packages directly or indirectly depending on
the KDE3/Qt3 libraries have to either get ported to KDE4/Qt4 or eventually get
removed from the Debian repositories.

Therefore, please take the time and:
- contact your upstream (if existing) and ask about the state of a KDE4/Qt4
port of your application
- if there are no activities regarding porting, investigate whether there are
suitable alternatives for your users
- if there is a KDE4/Qt4 port that is not yet packaged, consider packaging it
- if both the KDE3/Qt3 and the KDE4/Qt4 version already coexist in the Debian
archives, consider removing the KDE3/Qt3 version

Documentation on how to port to KDE4 can be found at:

Package: mutter
Version: 2.31.5-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

After upgrading to gnome-shell from experimental (2.31.5-2), it pulled in mutter
from experimental (2.31.5-1), but when trying to run the new version of
gnome-shell, I kept getting crashes. I then noticed that the following
mutter-related packages were not upgraded to the versions from experimental.
After manually upgrading them, things worked again:
 * gir1.0-mutter-2.31
 * libmutter-private0
 * mutter-common

This makes me think that the mutter package should depend on exact versions of
these packages so that they get upgraded when the mutter package is upgraded.

Bug#612956: Unmatched dependencies for nvidia-glx, xserver-xorg-core too new

2011-02-11 Thread Christian Wietholt
Package: nvidia-glx
Version: 195.36.31-6: amd64
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I am using the current (2011-02-11) version of Debian unstable. Since the last
major upgrade of the xorg xwindow system, the nvidia-glx driver refuses to
install
with the following error message

> sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
nvidia-glx : Depends: xorg-video-abi-6.0 but it is not installable or
xserver-xorg-core (< 2:1.7.7) but it is not going to be
installed
E: Broken packages

This is true for both of my systems, an older notebook and my new desktop, on
which
I did a fresh installation of Debian.

Using the free drivers won't work for me, as I need full 3D acceleration for my
work.

I hope this can be fixed soon.

Christian

Bug#612964: xserver-xorg-video-fbdev: touchscreen of Neo Freerunner unusable because touches are misplaced

2011-02-11 Thread Lancelot du Lac
Package: xserver-xorg-video-fbdev
Version: 1:0.4.2-2
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

My Neo freerunner was broken by the upgrade to wheezy. When I touch the
touchscreen in one location, I get either no response or a misplaced
touch.

I don't know how to fix this because 0.4.2-2 is the only available
version, and xserver-xorg-video-glamo appears to be broken.

Sorry I can't include the info automatically generated by reportbug,
because it's not available on my Freerunner and I'm writing this from my
desktop.

I've copied my xorg.conf and my Xorg.0.log below

xorg.conf

# input device is provided by udev

Cheers,

OdyX

Bug#612964: fix

2011-02-11 Thread Lancelot du Lac
I found a fix!

The xorg.conf file below works for me:

# complementary information on the touch screen as the
# input device is provided by udev

Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "DefaultLayout"
InputDevice "Touchscreen"
EndSection

Section "Device"
Identifier "Glamo 3362"
Driver "fbdev"
EndSection

Section "Module"
 Load "glx"
 Load "dri2"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Touchscreen"
Driver "evdev"
Option "Device""/dev/input/event1"
Option "SwapAxes" "True"
Option "InvertY" "True"
Option "Calibration" "130 920 110 900"
EndSection

Calibration is not perfect, I did it through trial and error.

Otherwise sorry guys, this shouldn't have been a bug against
xserver-xorg-video-fbdev. Actually it may not be a bug at all, though it
certainly is a major breakage.

Actually there's two problems with the freerunner that seemingly started
when the freeze was lifted.
xserver-xorg-video-glamo is removed by the upgrade because it's broken.
This means the poor guy who has it declared in his xorg.conf ends up
with a useless phone. His only hope of shifting to fbdev is if he can
ssh into the phone natively after the boot process; otherwise he's good
for a reinstall.

It finally appears that xserver-xorg-video-fbdev works nicely, as far as
I can tell.

The touchscreen problem is related to xserver-xorg-input-evdev, which
used to work without any tinkering in the xorg.conf, but now requires
that you swap axes, invert the Y axis and calibrate... Just as above, if
you can't ssh into the phone, you're heading towards a reinstall.

Oh and I certainly have to apologize for another mistake. When I write
"since the upgrade to wheezy" above, I meant in fact "since the freeze
has been lifted." I got confused because my desktop is under testing
(but the freerunner is under sid/experimental only).

Probably not the most clever bug report in Debian's history, but maybe
it will help some people.

Package: kgb-bot
Version: 1.05-1
Severity: normal

Hi KGB maintainers,
I've tried to rebuild kgb-bot for Univention Corporate Server, a Debian
derived distribution based on Debian stable (currently Lenny, our next
release will be based on Squeeze).

The guidelines for derived distributions recommend to add a distribution
specific version suffix to distinguish the rebuilt package with the original
Debian package: http://wiki.debian.org/Derivatives/Guidelines

Your check in debian/rules:

[ "$(PKG_VER)" = "$(MOD_VER)" ] \
   || ( echo "Package version ($(PKG_VER)) doesn't match module version
($(MOD_VER))"; exit 1 )

breaks such builds. The same applies to security updates, which would
be labeled 1.05-1+squeeze1 by the Security Team:

All tests successful.
Files=9, Tests=160,  8 wallclock secs ( 0.03 usr  0.06 sys +  2.41 cusr  1.23
csys =  3.73 CPU)
Result: PASS
[ "Version: 1.05-1+squeeze1" = "1.05" ] \
|| ( echo "Package version (Version: 1.05-1+squeeze1) doesn't match
module version (1.05)"; exit 1 )
Package version (Version: 1.05-1+squeeze1) doesn't match module version (1.05)
make[1]: *** [override_dh_auto_test] Fehler 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/jmm/kgb/kgb-bot-1.05'
make: *** [build] Fehler 2
dpkg-buildpackage: Fehler: Fehler-Exitstatus von debian/rules build war 2

It's not obvious to me, why the check is needed, since all KGB packages
come from the same source package, but if it's required maybe it could
be modified to test, whether only the base version is identical?

Cheers,
Moritz

Right. This was fixed in 1.06-1.

I'll plan for a stable upload since the nature of the package doesn't
rule out the possibility of future security uploads.

Thanks for your report!

For ATA discs one can use: “atacontrol cap ad0”. To know if a device
will be available through either of the tools, it should appear on the
output of “camcontrol devlist” or “atacontrol list”. And this is not
the problem, ISTR this has appeared for some time now, grub-probe
failing is.

guillem

Documentation on how to port to KDE4 can be found at:
http://techbase.kde.org/index.php?title=Development/Tutorials/KDE4_Porting_Guide

Documentation on how to port to Qt4 can be found at:
http://doc.qt.nokia.com/4.7/porting4.html

For any questions and issues, do not hesitate to contact the Debian Qt/KDE
team at debian-qt-...@lists.debian.org

Eckhart
