Package: llvm-gcc-4.5
Version: 0~20091229-2
Severity: minor

This doesn't Just Work for me:

$ echo 'void main(){}' >tmp.c

$ cc -fplugin=/usr/lib/dragonegg/dragonegg.so tmp.c
cc1: error: Cannot load plugin /usr/lib/dragonegg/dragonegg.so

$ gcc-4.5 -fplugin=/usr/lib/dragonegg/dragonegg.so tmp.c
Incompatible plugin version
cc1: error: Fail to initialize plugin /usr/lib/dragonegg/dragonegg.so

I'm guessing about how to use this, since there's no README.Debian.
Upstream's docs (http://dragonegg.llvm.org/) want me to build gcc from
a svn checkout, which is more effort than I care to go to.

Please add a short README.Debian (i.e. a few paragraphs) that briefly
describes how to use this package, and what to do when the above
errors show up (e.g. "don't use gcc-4.4, dummy!" and "wait, or build a
new gcc-4.5 snapshot").

While we will probably want to upload a new version of this package with
a newer ConfirmEdit, this bug affects stable, and so I propose this
minimal patch to fix it.

Upstream thinks this may be a regression in MIME-tools and he

clone the bug to libmime-tools-perl affecting libemail-abstract-perl.

Yes, I can reproduce the FTBFS with 1.14. This was corrected upstream

doesn't include adjusted prices in any tests since Yahoo changes these

Package: kamefu
Version: 0.1.1-4+b1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

After setting the path to a mame rom collection, kamefu is unable to see any
roms, und so unable to start them.

This happens both with xmame-x v 0.106 and with the mame package 0.140 from the
new queue (http://ftp-master.debian.org/new/mame_0.141-1.html )

Besides this upstream seems to have disappeared ( http://kamefu.pwsp.net. empty
since some time now )

I think it would be a good idea to remove this package from the archive.

Dear maintainer,

The Debian Qt/KDE team is planning to remove the KDE3 and Qt3 libraries from
Debian shortly after the Squeeze release. The transition phase to KDE4 and Qt4
will finish since both KDE and Nokia upstream don't maintain the old versions
of those libraries anymore.

In order to make this move, all packages directly or indirectly depending on
the KDE3/Qt3 libraries have to either get ported to KDE4/Qt4 or eventually get
removed from the Debian repositories.

Therefore, please take the time and:
- contact your upstream (if existing) and ask about the state of a KDE4/Qt4
port of your application
- if there are no activities regarding porting, investigate whether there are
suitable alternatives for your users
- if there is a KDE4/Qt4 port that is not yet packaged, consider packaging it
- if both the KDE3/Qt3 and the KDE4/Qt4 version already coexist in the Debian
archives, consider removing the KDE3/Qt3 version

Documentation on how to port to KDE4 can be found at:
http://techbase.kde.org/index.php?title=Development/Tutorials/KDE4_Porting_Guide

Documentation on how to port to Qt4 can be found at:
http://doc.qt.nokia.com/4.7/porting4.html

For any questions and issues, do not hesitate to contact the Debian Qt/KDE
team at debian-qt-...@lists.debian.org

Eckhart

Package: abiword
Severity: wishlist
Tags: experimental

libwpd 0.9.0 and libwpg 0.2.0 were released and are already in experimental.
You get this report because your package (build-)depends on it. There's API
and ABI changed there so it needs a transition. To make it the least painful
many packages should migrate quickly at least in experimental so they
can be uploaded to sid together (or at least in short delays) when it's due
time.

I had a quick chat with upstream some days ago:

13:19 <@Fridrich> _rene_: btw, I am pretty happy to have this series out of the

13:19 <@Fridrich> _rene_: although, 0.8.x showed to be really stable due to Will

13:20 <@Fridrich> _rene_: for 0.9.0, I added some no-op apis for named styles so
 that we manage to add them without breaking the binary compatibility
13:20 <@_rene_> how big is 0.9s API change? how hard will the time for koffice,
inkscape and abiword be?
13:21 -!- beppec56 is now known as beppec56_afk
13:21 <@Fridrich> _rene_: inkscape should not be so difficult, because they can
use the convenience SVG genrating method
13:21 <@Fridrich> abiword has already the modifications in trunk
13:22 <@Fridrich> _rene_: although, marc will have to finish implementing the
new callbacks to have the new features implemented
13:22 * _rene_ just cares on buildability for now :-)
13:22 <@Fridrich> _rene_: for abiword's use of WPG, they use the SVG genrating
function and include SVG in the documetn, so little change
13:23 <@Fridrich> _rene_: yeah, trunk of abiword has the patch, and it should

13:24 <@_rene_> yeah, I know, that is not my worry
13:26 <@Fridrich> _rene_: the new thing is that libwpg depends completely on
libwpd and that the painter api is completely rewritten, nevertheless, if the
project uses the SVG generator api, the buidl fix is just trivial stuff
13:26 -!- beppec56_afk is now known as beppec56
13:26 <@Fridrich> _rene_: some changes in integer types in WPXInputStream class
and using the libwpd implementations
13:27 <@Fridrich> _rene_: for koffice, it should be easy too, because they for
the time being were using the writerperfect code to generata sxw and then pass
that to their sxw import. Now, they could just generate odt and pass it to the
odt import
13:27 <@Fridrich> _rene_: but you can imagine how much I care about koffice

Ah, OK.

OK, will look how to actually do that. If not, it's not bad either as my NMU
would be lower than a eventual 0.48.1-1 anyways.

Thanks for reporting and solving inkscape bugs!
ATM I'm preparing an upload of inkscape 0.48.1 to unstable. For this I'm
porting the patch you sent previously to the new version.
I wanted to finish this today and send the new package to my sponsor Guido
Günther, who is on CC.

I didn't do anything on inkscape today, so I hope to finish this tomorrow
evening.

So yes, it would be great if you could delay your NMU a bit, since your patch
is on it's way into a new version of inkscape in unstable.

Thanks an best regards,

Could you please add an appropriate build dependency (which liblognorm
will likely need as well) and check (with pbuilder or the like) that
no others are missing?

plugins/opendocument/common/xp/crypto/blowfish/README says:

This is a quick packaging up of my blowfish code into a library.
It has been lifted from SSLeay.
The copyright notices seem a little harsh because I have not spent the
time to rewrite the conditions from the normal SSLeay ones.

Basically if you just want to play with the library, not a problem.

eric 15-Apr-1997

Seems like this wants to relax the conditions from the openssl license
to something more permissive for this code. Unsure if this is enough
though.

AFAICT there hasn't been an answer to Jari's post on the upstream ML?

Cheers,
Julien

No, it isn't. It's linked against libgphoto2_port.so.0 and *that* is
linked against libltdl.so.7.

gtkam launches just fine here.

Package: sobby
Version: 0.4.7-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

The sobby init-script is configured to create a default autosave.obby file, if
there isn't one yet. However, as the file is created by root, the file is owned
by root. Therefore, the sobby user is unable to write data to this file and the
autosave functionality isn't working. This results in loss of data upon sobby
restart.
To fix this issue, the owner of the autosave.obby file has to be changed to
sobby.

Version: 1:2.2.0~beta1-2
Severity: important

Krusader doesn't stop even by closing its window or by pressing Ctrl+q
-- it's process stays in the background after quiting the application.

I reported Bug#587842 about it, it was fixed, and now this bug appears again.

Bug#604826: abiword: diff for NMU version 2.8.6-0.2

thanks

Dear maintainer,

I've prepared an NMU for abiword (versioned as 2.8.6-0.2) and
uploaded it to DELAYED/7. Please feel free to tell me if I
should delay it longer.

I also needed to add a new build-dep on libxcb-render-util0-dev
because the lib wasn't found otherwise (some build-dep probably
has the dep before and lost it?).

Grüße/Regards,

Rene

Could you please add an appropriate build dependency (which liblognorm
will likely need as well) and check (with pbuilder or the like) that
no others are missing?

Thanks!

Bug#613221: libpixman-1-0: Breaks the GNUstep cairo backend (gnustep-back0.18-cairo)

The first "bad" is 0.18.0-1. With 0.16.4-1 (installed on an
up-to-date sid system) I get

Ink: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2: undefined symbol:
pixman_image_composite32

but if I downgrade libcairo2 to 1.8.10-6, I can't reproduce (i.e., all
GNUstep apps work as expected).

Downgrading libswscale0 to 4:0.5.2-6 solves the issue.

A similar bug is #611579. It looked too different to me though. If it
really is the same, please force merge.

Hi,

how history repeats itself...

In a move the same as #500083 a new rasqual with librasqual3-dev was uploaded
without updating redland with it. (I see a 1.0.12-1 in experimental,
though, maybe that should be uploaded to sid)?

And librasqual2-dev got removed from the archive now:

=
[Date: Fri, 11 Feb 2011 21:23:46 +] [ftpmaster: Torsten Werner]
Removed the following packages from unstable:

librasqal2-dev |   0.9.20-1 | alpha, amd64, armel, hppa, hurd-i386, i386, ia64,
kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc

--- Reason ---
[auto-cruft] NBS (no longer built by rasqal)
--
=

This now makes every package build-depending on librdf0-dev uninstallable,
because librdf0-dev depends on librasqual2-dev...

Rene

If someone wants to port kkbswitch from KDE3/QT3 to KDE4/QT4, I'll be more
than happy to keep maintaining it. but Debian can't support old libraries
for a long times, especially when upstream has newer versions.

Along side the porting, to build the package you'll have to add these
packages to build-depends: libx11-dev, libxkbfile-dev, libxext-dev,
libxt-dev, libjpeg8-dev

I'm CCing the kkbswitch author, in case he's interested or know someone who
is for doing the porting. Popcon says we have at least 280 installations of
kkbswitch.

That's correct. There are other packages which are in similar
situations, for a variety of reasons. Filing an RC bug won't change
that though; squeeze has released and it is no longer possible to add
new packages other than for exceptional circumstances.

The reason for djbdns's non-inclusion appears to be #516394. (dbndns is
built from the djbdns source package, hence its non-inclusion.)

Bug#613240: gtkam is linked against libltdl.so.3 which is not provided in squeeze

2011-02-13 Thread Thomas Richter

Package: gtkam
Version: 0.1.17-1
Severity: grave
Tags: d-i
Justification: renders package unusable

The gtkam version included in squeeze (0.1.17-1) is linked against
libltdl.so.3.
However, squeeze ships with libltdl7 (2.2.6b-2) and does not create a
link from
libltdl.so.3 to the installed version. Due to this bug gtkam is unusable
and fails
when launched from the shell. Installing libltdl3 from lenny fixes the
issue. Interestingly,
dependencies do not list libltdl, even though it is required (check with
ldd from the

command line).

Bug#613227: [epiphany-browser] Segfault on address bar input

2011-02-13 Thread Simon Wenner
Package: epiphany-browser
Version: 2.30.6-1
Severity: critical

Epiphany crashes (segmentation fault) if I enter anything into the
address bar. If I enable the adblock extension epiphany crashes right at
the start. Before the crash critical glib errors, which are related to
regular expressions, are printed out. IIRC the crashes occured after the
update of glib to version 2.28.0-1. Maybe it's a glib bug.

spine) and rrdtool renders graphing impossible. Whichever method used (cmd.php
or
the other), it is not possible to graph anymore. If I revert to these packages
from etch instead : cacti-cactid_0.8.6i-2_i386.deb  cacti_0.8.6i-3.5_all.deb
rrdtool_1.2.15-0.3_i386.deb. Graphing occurs as expected again.

Re-reading this thread, it seems to me that all the trouble here was
stemming from using backported packages, which perhaps were not
compatable with one another (the spine package from one release will not
work with cacti from another).

Since everything seems fine with lenny-squeeze updates, i'm closing this
unless someone has reason to keep it open.

2011-02-13 Thread Nanakos Chrysostomos
I know that for a long time now. How the problem can be solved from now on?
Should a DD reupload the package with a different d/control file and a newer
minor version? Is there any other approach?

Cheers,
Chris.

s/maybe/certainly which is why reporting the bug against xorg would
have been a better idea as it would have given Xorg maintainers the
information they need.

Package: dbconfig-common
Version: 1.8.38ubuntu1
Severity: major

  When I upgrade my package version from 1.5.5 --> 1.12, with mysql's script
for upgrade named : 1.6, 1.7, 1.7.1, 1.7.2, 1.7.3, 1.7.4, 1.7.5, 1.7.6, 1.8,
1.9, 1.10,
  1.10.1, 1.10.2, 1.10.3, 1.10.4 1.11 and 1.12

To have a transcript, you can use the /usr/share/doc/dbconfig-
common/examples/db-test-mysql-2.1

1. Rename the package:
/usr/share/doc/dbconfig-common/examples/db-test-mysql-2.1 to
/usr/share/doc/dbconfig-common/examples/db-test-mysql-1.5.5
don't forget to update your changelog
2. install the first package (dpkg -i your_package_name_1.5.5_all.deb).

3. Create a new package db-test-mysql-1.12 with mysql upgrade's files from:
mysql-upgrade_1.6, mysql-upgrade_1.7, mysql-upgrade_1.7.1,
mysql-upgrade_1.7.2,
mysql-upgrade_1.7.3, ... mysql-upgrade_1.10.1, mysql-upgrade_1.10.2,
mysql-upgrade_1.10.3, mysql-upgrade_1.11, mysql-upgrade_1.12 with a script
to upgrade the version
of the database: update mytable set version='1.10.1' for example for
mysql-upgrade_1.10.1;

4. Generate your package

5. Upgrade your package (dpkg -i your_package_name_1.12_all.deb)

The result is:

applying upgrade sql for 1.5.5 -> 1.6.
applying upgrade sql for 1.5.5 -> 1.7.
applying upgrade sql for 1.5.5 -> 1.7.1.
applying upgrade sql for 1.5.5 -> 1.7.2.
applying upgrade sql for 1.5.5 -> 1.7.3.
applying upgrade sql for 1.5.5 -> 1.7.4.
applying upgrade sql for 1.5.5 -> 1.7.5.
applying upgrade sql for 1.5.5 -> 1.7.6.
applying upgrade sql for 1.5.5 -> 1.8.
applying upgrade sql for 1.5.5 -> 1.9.
applying upgrade sql for 1.5.5 -> 1.10.

Some scripts (1.10.1, 1.10.2, 1.10.3, 1.10.4 1.11 and 1.12) are not applied.

I suggest that the function dbc_find_upgrades() that sort files and return
the list of the files sorted, in /usr/share/dbconfig-common/dpkg/postinst,
be corrected.

Specially replace this script:
from line 248 to 258:

# if we haven't already placed it
if [ ! "$placed" ]; then
# if the this version is less than the next sorted one
if dpkg --compare-versions $f lt $s; then
# insert it here
tlist="$tlist $f $s"
placed="yes"
else
# it's not less, so append the sorted one and continue
tlist="$tlist $s"
fi
fi

with:
# if we haven't already placed it
if [ ! "$placed" ]; then
# if the this version is less than the next sorted one
if dpkg --compare-versions $f lt $s; then
# insert it here
tlist="$tlist $f"
placed="yes"
fi
fi
tlist="$tlist $s"

  I am using Ubuntu GNU/Linux 8.04 LTS, kernel 2.6.24-23-server and libc6

Bug#613204: Two security issues

2011-02-13 Thread Moritz Muehlenhoff
Package: tsclient
Severity: grave

Please see

http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2011-0901

Since these attacks require someone into opening a malformed
RDP file, I don't think these warrant a DSA. They could still
be fixed through a point release.

Cheers,
Moritz

Bug#613187: xs/SceneQuery.xs:28: error: cannot convert [..]

2011-02-13 Thread Jonathan Yu
Dominic,

It looks like the dependencies might've changed recently...
who-uploads for both libogre-dev and libgtk2.0-dev give me nothing,
however:

 libgtk2.0-dev | 2.20.1-2 | squeeze | amd64, armel,
i386, ia64, kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc,
s390, sparc
 libgtk2.0-dev | 2.20.1-2 | wheezy  | amd64, armel,
i386, ia64, kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc,
s390, sparc
 libgtk2.0-dev | 2.20.1-2 | sid | alpha, amd64,
armel, hppa, hurd-i386, i386, ia64, kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386,
mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc

All versions are the same across the suites.

 libogre-dev | 1.6.4.dfsg1-1 | squeeze | amd64, armel, i386, ia64,
kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
 libogre-dev | 1.6.4.dfsg1-1 | wheezy  | amd64, armel, i386, ia64,
kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
 libogre-dev | 1.6.4.dfsg1-1 | sid | armel, mips
 libogre-dev | 1.7.1-1   | sid | alpha, amd64, hppa,
hurd-i386, i386, ia64, kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mipsel, powerpc,
s390, sparc

It looks like libogre-dev was upgraded recently enough to not have
migrated to testing yet.

The upstream changelog for libogre-perl (new version is 0.50) has:

0.50 2010-12-14 | support Ogre >= 1.7.2
- dropping support for versions of Ogre before 1.7.2 (released 2010-11-03)
- removed Readonly (optional) dependence (for one example)
- ported to 1.7.2

So perhaps this fix also makes Ogre work with libogre-dev >= 1.7.1?

At this point, it looks like Ogre may not support 1.7.1, and the new
version doesn't support the existing libogre-dev (not tested by me yet
though, just based on the changelog entry). A bit of a tricky
situation indeed.

Cheers,

Jonathan

libglib2.0-data 2.24.2-1 ships /usr/share/doc/libglib2.0-data as a symlink. I
assume you messed your installation somehow since it's not for you, so closing.

Bug#612922: Stable update for kgb-bot

2011-02-13 Thread Damyan Ivanov
Hi,

Please allow the attached diff in kgb-bot to stable. There are two
changes:

 1. Fix the regular expression used in debian/rules for checking
whether the package version matches the "upstream" version. We are
also upstream of the software and the check is there to ensure we
increase the version synchronously.
The check in 1.05-1 doesn't work if the revision part has any
non-digits. It works in normal circumstances, but fails (before
this change) for versions like 1.05-1+squeeze1. The package is an
IRC bot, so security updates aren't totally impossible and they
would break due to this check.

 2. I use the opportunity to "slip in" another change that addresses
another, non-critical part of the package. Without it, an
interesting and useful functionality doesn't work -- automatic
replies using polygen. The diff is minimal (2 lines), so I hope it
passes your threshold.

Thanks for your time!

Bug#613180: binutils-z80: version 2.20 contains many bugs which make it unusable for Z80 development.

2011-02-13 Thread Chris Smith
Package: binutils-z80
Version: 2.20.1-1
Severity: grave
Tags: upstream
Justification: renders package unusable

There are quite a number of serious bugs in 2.20. The most imporant being:

- Incorrect section headers of a z80-coff section are produced, so that
z80-coff files faile to maintain the alignment specified in the assembly files.

- objdump incorrectly lables sections, reporting that data sections contain
"CODE" where "DATA "was expected.

- Most seriously, Indexed register offsets are incorrectly assembled as zero if
they reference an equ declaration that has yet to be made, producing incorrect
binaries.

Please upgrade to version 2.21.

Supporting info and binutils bugzilla link:

bfd/ChangeLog:
   * coff-z80.c (r_imm32): Fix copy-paste bug that caused z80-objdump to
issue warnings about stabs debugging symbols rather than to show them
   * coff-z80.c (z80coff_vec): Allow sections to be of type SEC_CODE or

ld/testsuite/ChangeLog:
* ld-scripts/align.exp: Remove xfails for z80-*-coff

include/coff/ChangeLog:

Bug#613178: FTBFS: glib-util.h:67: error: conflicting types for 'g_list_free_full'

2011-02-13 Thread Dominic Hargreaves
Package: amanda
Version: 1:3.2.0-1
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source

Hi,

Your package failed to build on a sid chroot on 2011-02-12:

In file included from util.h:39,
 from amxml.c:34:
glib-util.h:67: error: conflicting types for 'g_list_free_full'
/usr/include/glib-2.0/glib/glist.h:53: note: previous declaration of
'g_list_free_full' was here
glib-util.h:68: error: conflicting types for 'g_slist_free_full'
/usr/include/glib-2.0/glib/gslist.h:52: note: previous declaration of
'g_slist_free_full' was here
make[4]: *** [amxml.lo] Error 1

I would guess that this is caused by a new version of glib2.0 hitting
unstable a few days ago.

Cheers,
Dominic.

Bug#613172: reportbug: samba/kswapd0/ext4 moving large files or causing high systemload cause kernel panic/system freeze

2011-02-13 Thread Barry Schut
Package: reportbug
Version: 4.12.6
Severity: critical
Tags: lfs
Justification: breaks the whole system

This problem started when i updated to Squeeze from Lenny, which never
portraited this issue.

When i try to put the system under quite some load by either compiling with
make -j3 (dualcore system)
or move a +40GB file through samba on an ext4 fs using a 1Gbit NIC the kernel
throws a trace and
freezes, compiling my own kernel (2.6.37) enabled me to do a regular reboot
now, but it is rendered
unusable from there on after untill i reboot the machine.

I have been unable to trace the problem to one specific thing, it might be
kernel related as this and
the debian squeeze kernels are newer then the one i used before. I have trace
information and system
information at the ready for anyone who wishes to view them.

Kernel/Debian developers can use my system to debug if needed.

I hope you can help, i'll be forced to return to Lenny if this cant be
resolved... and that would be a
shame... Squeeze looks good from many perspectives!

Barry Schut

Oh, and even then

drwxr-xr-x root/root 0 2011-02-13 02:20 ./usr/lib/libreoffice/basis3.3/

You install directly into basis3.3. Which might change in LibO 3.4.0 into
basis3.4. Thus you need strict
dependencies on 3.3.x. See how openclipart-openoffice.org (which has/had the
same problem) did it:

Hi,

the current version apparently build without support for AqBanking: The build
log shows that the KBanking is disabled:

 KMyMoney 4.5.0

Configure results (user options):

With the attached patch kmymoney should build with AqBanking 5 too, which is
available in experimental. Additional to the patch you need to change the build
dependencies to build depend on libaqbanking32-dev.

OK
Some elements of the build chain changed between the 27 and 29. It
causes this kind of issues and also build failures.
See bug #589464.

The bad news is that I have no clue on what is causing it (and therefor
how to fix it) ...
