Package: kfreebsd-9
Version: 9.0~svn225873
Severity: important

Hi,

Typical kfreebsd-amd64 experimental system. When I try to use "cupt
update" after booting with kfreebsd 9, it always fails:

E: unable to bind server socket to file '/tmp/cuptyL8GPC': Invalid
argument
E: error performing command 'update'

By contrast, kfreebsd-image-8.2-1-amd64 8.2-8+gcc45 works fine.

Trying to track this down, I tried the example from the bind(2)
manpage (from manpages-dev 3.32-0.2), with MY_SOCK_PATH set to
"/tmp/somepath" so it wouldn't require root permissions. Same story
there --- the 8.2 kernel works fine, while kfreebsd 9 gives me

bind: Invalid argument

For reference, the installed libc0.1 is 2.13-21. Anyway, thought you
might like to know.

Regards,
Jonathan

Seems to be fixed, or at least sufficiently worked around. :) Thanks
to everyone who worked on this.

Indeed. It also seems the term.h inclusion was conditional to
libreadline being present and not on ncurses. I'll fix that later
today with the accompanying upload.

Hi,

gedit 3.0.6-1 has just been uploaded to unstable. This new version is
based on GNOME 3. The plugin path has changed from
/usr/lib/gedit-2/plugins to /usr/lib/gedit/plugins.

Please update this package for gedit 3.0 and test that the plugins
shipped in this package work correctly with gedit 3.0

Bug#620137: openoffice.org-writer: Saving in docx format destroys, the entire file content

2011-10-28 Thread peter green
Is
there anything I can do to ensure that this gets looked at for the OOo
package in squeeze?
Not really, debian stable releases are all about keeping changes to
a minimum. If someone made a minimal patch to fix this issue it MIGHT
be accepted but I can't see that happening unless you do the work

yourself.

OK, understood. So what should I do?
My advice to you would be to try using the libreoffice packages from
squeeze-backports and see if they provide an acceptable soloution for
a squeeze deployment in your environment.

Also while I understand that you don't want to deploy testing widely I
would strongly reccomend testing it in your environment. The earlier in
the release cycle you spot an issue the easier it is likely to be to
get it sorted.

P.S. i'm just a guy looking through debian rc bugs. I have no relationship
to the debian openoffice guys but I do have a pretty good idea of how
debian works.

Bug#638614: FTBFS on ia64 (internal compiler error)

2011-10-28 Thread peter green

So, um, just asking here: if a package fails to build on one particular
architecture due to a bug in gcc, is that a reason to remove it from
testing
If a few minor packages are blocking a transition for any reason then
it is very likely they will be removed from testing. This isn't exactly

ideal but running testing is a game of compromises.

If you want to see openmsx back in testing the out of date package on
ia64 needs to be dealt with somehow. There are basically four ways of

doing this in descending order of preference.

1: get gcc fixed.
2: if the ICE is optimisation related reduce the optimisation level
  until it goes away.
3: use an older gcc version. Debian currently offers 4.4, 4.5 and 4.6
4: request removal of the out of date packages on ia64 and downgrade
  this bug to "important".

1 is the best long term soloution and a gcc bug report should be
 prepared and filed as a first step but based on past experiance I
 would not expect a rapid response from the gcc guys.

2 is an acceptable soloution but obviously isn't ideal.
3 is acceptable as an interim soloution but is not a long term
 answer because older gcc versions are eventually removed from

 debian.
4 is a last resort option and should only be used after reasonable
 attempts at 1-3 have failed (per the rc policy "Packages must
 be supported on as many architectures as is reasonably possible.")

If you need access to an ia64 box for testing I would suggest
asking on debian-i...@lists.debian.org

P.S. I'm just taking flyby looks at rc bugs, I have no relationship to
or interest in this particular package.

Bug#646984: busybox-syslogd: Regression in 1.19.2: Line breaks, date, hostname, type and severity missing in logread output

2011-10-28 Thread Axel Beckert
Package: busybox-syslogd

Justification: Makes package (nearly) unusable

Hi,

since 1:1.19.2-1, line breaks, date, hostname, log entry type and
severity are missing in logread's output.

It should look like this (missing parts manually added, partially with
dummy values) and did so before until and including 1:1.18.5-1:

Bug#646135: FTBFS: configure: error: readline not found

2011-10-28 Thread Daniel T Chen
Package: dvbstreamer
Version: 2.1.0-2
Followup-For: Bug #646135
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu precise ubuntu-patch

In Debian sid, the attached patch can be applied to achieve the following:

  * no_ncurses.patch: Don't look for or link against ncurses; it isn't
even used. (Closes: #646135)
  * debian/control: Because the majority of dvbstreamer's source is
GPLv2, we must use libreadline-gplv2-dev as a build-dependency.

Thanks for considering the patch.

Great. Please ping me, when you finished your tests and if they were
succesful, I'll make the upload.

That build dependency exists in the most recent surefire upload (2.10-1).

Perhaps #577704 can be closed?

still occurs 5 days later I guess that there is something broken now. -Ralf.]

Hi,

automatic installation tests of packages that share a file and at the
same time do not conflict by their package dependency relationships has
detected the following problem:

This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violates
sections 7.6.1 and 10.1 of the policy. An optimal solution would
consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming
or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the
circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file
diversions. If the conflicting situation cannot be resolved then, as a
last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual
Conflict. Please take into account that Replaces, Conflicts and
diversions should only be used when packages provide different
implementations for the same functionality.

Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

  /usr/lib/nodejs/step.js

This bug has been filed against both packages. If you, the maintainers of
the two packages in question, have agreed on which of the packages will
resolve the problem please reassign the bug to that package. You may then
also register in the BTS that the other package is affected by the bug.

-Ralf.

of this kind see http://edos.debian.net/file-overwrites/.

Yes, in fact it is a bug.

Seems like I uploaded node-step, while libnode-step was already in the archive.
Oops.

This is what I'll do now:

a) ask for removal of node-step source package;
b) rename current libnode-step to node-step, and re-upload it to NEW;
c) fix rdeps of libnode-step.

Thanks Ralf for doing these checks :)

hasn't yet been applied...

Package: phpldapadmin
Version: 1.2.0.5-2
Severity: critical
Tags: security upstream
Justification: root security hole

All versions of phpldapadmin <= 1.2.1.1 (all released versions as of
today) are vulnerable to a remote code execution bug. Arbitrary code can be
executed as the user running the web server that phpldapadmin is running
under (usually www-data). Details can be found here:
- exploit DB: http://www.exploit-db.com/exploits/18021/
- phpldapadmin bug tracker:

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=3417184&group_id=61828&atid=498546
- example of exploit in the wild: http://dev.metasploit.com/redmine/issues/5820

Justification for critical status: I'm not sure if www-data would be
considered a "privileged" account, but I believe this exploit could be
used to stage a man-in-the-middle attack against anyone logging into
phpldapadmin as the LDAP administrator user.

Justification: user security hole

Hey,

Solar Designer reported on http://seclists.org/oss-sec/2011/q4/30 that
multiple issues were found in radvd 1.8.1. Not all of them apply to
1.6-1 in squeeze or 1.8-1 in sid though.

As far as I can tell:

* CVE-2011-3601 (privilege escalation) is present in 1.8-1 but not in
  1.6-1 (no support for ND_OPT_DNSSL_INFORMATION in 1.6)
  Patch:
https://github.com/reubenhwk/radvd/commit/9dfaaaf740ce784541e76e68de4ae04dce2c0921
* CVE-2011-3602 (arbitrary file overwrite) is present in both versions
  Patch:
https://github.com/reubenhwk/radvd/commit/92e22ca23e52066da2258df8c76a2dca8a428bcc
* CVE-2011-3603 (failure to check privsep() errors) is present in both versions
  Patches:
https://github.com/reubenhwk/radvd/commit/2c50375043186e133f15135f4c93ca964238ee60

https://github.com/reubenhwk/radvd/commit/074816cd0b37aac7b3209987e6e998f0a847b275

https://github.com/reubenhwk/radvd/commit/7dc53cc3b792775369bf0b2f053a3f4ed5d87e3d
* CVE-2011-3604 (buffer overreads) is present in both versions
  Patch:
https://github.com/reubenhwk/radvd/commit/7de1b9abf87b747ee2611c0d2a94dfeee79878b4
* CVE-2011-3605 (denial of service in unicast mode) is present in both versions
  Patch:

https://github.com/reubenhwk/radvd/commit/2591d0189257caeaae2057dfed0a260310497a61

I'm reporting only one bug for all the issues, which can be fixed by
uploading 1.8.2-1 to unstable. For squeeze, backporting the patches
should be fairly straightforward.

Please add CVE numbers in the changelog.

#645987 was reported against mplayer (not mplayer2). I could have cloned
the bugreport bug didn't think about that when closing it ; and
re-assigning isn't appropriate since the issue is valid for both packages.

I cc'ed the security team so that you can update security-tracker's data.

Hello,

The package fails to build when --as-needed linker option is enabled,
because of incorrect order of parameters passed to ld. Here's the log of

libpulse-browse has been deprecated for some time now[0] and isn't
available in the latest upstream version anymore. You were probably
using your local package cache when trying to install the package
"libpulse-browse0" since that package isn't available from the official
Debian repositories anymore, at least not for your architecture[1]. It
should be safe to simply remove this obsolete package.

Best regards

Alexander Kurtz

Bug#646958: libgooglepinyin0: architecture dependent file in /usr/share

2011-10-28 Thread Jakub Wilk

Package: libgooglepinyin0
Version: 0.1.1-1
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 9.1.1

libgooglepinyin0 ships its dictionary file in /usr/share, but the file
format is not architecture-independent. The code that creates the file
looks like this:

| bool DictTrie::save_dict(FILE *fp) {
|   if (NULL == fp)
| return false;
|
|   if (fwrite(&lma_node_num_le0_, sizeof(size_t), 1, fp) != 1)
| return false;
|
|   if (fwrite(&lma_node_num_ge1_, sizeof(size_t), 1, fp) != 1)
| return false;
|
|   if (fwrite(&lma_idx_buf_len_, sizeof(size_t), 1, fp) != 1)
| return false;
|
|   if (fwrite(&top_lmas_num_, sizeof(size_t), 1, fp) != 1)
| return false;
|
|   if (fwrite(root_, sizeof(LmaNodeLE0), lma_node_num_le0_, fp)
|   != lma_node_num_le0_)
| return false;
|
|   if (fwrite(nodes_ge1_, sizeof(LmaNodeGE1), lma_node_num_ge1_, fp)
|   != lma_node_num_ge1_)
| return false;
|
|   if (fwrite(lma_idx_buf_, sizeof(unsigned char), lma_idx_buf_len_, fp) !=
|   lma_idx_buf_len_)
| return false;
|
|   return true;
| }

So the format depends on size of size_t (and on endianness, but the
package doesn't build on big-endian machines so far, so that's
unimportant).

Please either make the format architecture-independent or move the file
into a subdirectory of /usr/lib/.

Hi,

this package currently depends on python-nautilus - most likely because
it provides an extension for the nautilus file manager.

The introduction of nautilus 3 to unstable is imminent. In this version,
the extensions interface has changed, and nautilus-image-manipulator
requires changes to support this version:
 * porting to GTK+ 3
 * porting from PyGTK to the GObject Introspection mechanism

You might want to check if upstream developers provide a new version,
compatible with nautilus 3.x. Otherwise, porting is a feasible task if
you have a few hours to spare. If you feel like it, the following guides
should help you:
 * http://live.gnome.org/PyGObject/IntrospectionPorting
 * http://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/gtk-migrating-2-to-3.html

nautilus 3 packages are available from experimental. Please update and
test your package against this version and ideally upload it to
experimental, too.

Packages that remain unported will have to be removed from testing
eventually.

Cheers,

Package: teatime
Version: 2.8.0-6
Severity: important
User: pkg-gnome-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: applets-transition

Hi,

this package currently depends on libpanel-applet2-0 - most likely
because it provides an applet for the GNOME panel.

The introduction of gnome-panel 3.0 to unstable is imminent. In this
version, the libpanel-applet library has undergone large changes, and
teatime requires changes to support this version:
 * updating to the D-Bus activation mechanism
 * porting to GTK+ 3

You might want to check if upstream developers provide a new version,
compatible with gnome-panel 3.x. Otherwise, porting is a feasible task
if you have a pair of hours to spare. If you feel like it, the
following guides should help you:
 * http://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/gtk-migrating-2-to-3.html
 * http://live.gnome.org/GnomeGoals/AppletsDbusMigration

For packages that provide other functionality than the GNOME applet,
you can simply disable it in the build and remove the
build-dependency if it hasn’t been ported.

For pure applets packages, you should ask for removal from the
archive if you do not intend to port it to the new interface. Such
packages that have not been ported when gnome-panel is ready to
migrate will be kicked out of testing.

Cheers,

We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

   teatime |2.8.0-6 | source, amd64, armel, hurd-i386, i386, ia64,
kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc

--- Reason ---
dead upstream, blocks GNOME 3 transition
--

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

We try to close Bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they where closed
correctly or should have been re-assign to another package.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 638...@bugs.debian.org.

Regards,
Jonathan

[I know we had a discussion about this kind of bugs. Now the situation seems
to be different since I observed this bug first on 2011/10/24. Since it
still occurs 5 days later I guess that there is something broken now. -Ralf.]

This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violates
sections 7.6.1 and 10.1 of the policy. An optimal solution would
consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming
or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the
circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file

last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual

This bug has been filed against both packages. If you, the maintainers of

Bug#638126: panflute-applet: needs porting to new libpanel-applet interface

2011-10-28 Thread Michael Biebl
Hi Paul,

in Debian unstable, we currently have the GNOME 3 transition ongoing. As
part of GNOME 3, the old GNOME 2 panel applet interface is going away
[1]. panflute is one of the packages using that interface.

Are you, as upstream, working on a port to GNOME 3, i.e. a port to the
D-Bus based GNOME 3 panel or even integration into gnome-shell?

An answer to this question would help to decide, if we continue to ship
panflute in the Debian archive or not.

Cheers,
Michael

P.S: Please CC the bug report on replies.

That issue was fixed in rev 33471. The current snapshot that is
sitting in testing and unstable was taken from rev 33713. I've checked
that the mentioned fix is present. I guess we can close this issue for
testing/unstable. (It remains to be fixed in stable and oldstable if
applicable, though).

retitle 638110 RM: teatime -- dead upstream, blocks GNOME 3 transition
thanks

Hi,

please remove teatime from the archive. It's depending
on libpanel-applet2 which is going away with the switch to GNOME 3.
The last upstream update is from 2008, the upstream homepage [1] seems
to have gone dead. The last Debian maintainer upload was 2008-12-17.
This particular bug report has been open since 17, August with no reply
from the maintainer so far, so we don't expect any porting efforts for
GNOME 3 any time soon. The popcon count isn't too high, either.

Cheers,
Michael

I just noticed, that I missed the -e 2 when using dput and uploaded
straight to unstable, i.e. without a delay. Sorry for that.

Hi,

this package currently depends on libpanel-applet2-0 - most likely
because it provides an applet for the GNOME panel.

The introduction of gnome-panel 3.0 to unstable is imminent. In this
version, the libpanel-applet library has undergone large changes, and
hspell-gui requires changes to support this version:
 * updating to the D-Bus activation mechanism
 * porting to GTK+ 3

You might want to check if upstream developers provide a new version,
compatible with gnome-panel 3.x. Otherwise, porting is a feasible task
if you have a pair of hours to spare. If you feel like it, the
following guides should help you:
 * http://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/gtk-migrating-2-to-3.html
 * http://live.gnome.org/GnomeGoals/AppletsDbusMigration

Cheers,

So, it seems tolimar, one of our ftp-masters, was quicker than me :-)
i.e. the package got removed in the mean time, which doesn't really
change a lot though, since the version in unstable would have been
uninstallable, anyway.

The only difference is, that if you have an updated package, it will
have to go through NEW again, which thankfully is processed pretty
quickly nowadays.

Michael

thanks

Hi,

I've just uploaded an NMU to DELAYED/2, where I disabled the GNOME 2
panel applet. The changelog reads:

 hspell-gui (0.2.6-5.1) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * Non-maintainer upload, for the GNOME 3 transition.
   * Stop building the GNOME 2 panel applet and only install the
 standalone application. (Closes: #638087)
 - Add patch no-applet to stop building and installing the panel
   applet.
 - Drop Build-Depends on libpanel-applet2-dev and libgnomeui-dev.
 - Remove autoconf-gnomeui and applet patch, obsolete.
 - Use dh-autoreconf to update the build system.

The full debdiff is attached.

Please let me know, if I should delay the NMU further or if you want to
have it cancelled for other reasons.

Cheers,
Michael

Good point, I should definitely have done that.

No worries, it certainly looked that way from the available information.

I would like to keep working on the package, so if it is possible to
only kick it out where needed, that would be great.

Package: src:zfsutils
Version: 8.1-4+squeeze1
Severity: serious
Justification: breaks upgrades, does not declare dependencies properly

Out of the zfsutils package are being built several shared libraries.
These do not bump any SONAME version or provide a symbols file. Hence,
shlibs generates zfsutils dependencies unversioned:

Depends: libbsd0 (>= 0.0), libc0.1 (>= 2.4), libgeom1 (>= 7.0),
libnvpair0, libumem0, libuutil0, libzfs0, libzpool0, zlib1g (>= 1:1.1.4)

That implies that zfsutils would work with any version of libnvpair0,
libumem0, libuutil0, libzfs0, libzpool0 installed. That is, however not
true. Upgrading zfsutils from 8.1 (Squeeze) to 8.2 (Wheezy) or any later
version breaks ABIs but does not pull appropriate dependencies.

Thus, users which do not do a full upgrade are left with broken zfsutils:

root@kfreebsd-test2:~# ldd /sbin/zfs

Bug#646903: FTBFS: Cannot detect libclamav

2011-10-28 Thread Moritz Muehlenhoff
Package: dansguardian
Version: 2.10.1.1-3
Severity: serious

Dansguardian fails to build from source in Squeeze (and very likely also in sid,
since it uses the same version). This is probably caused by the clamav update
in 6.0.3 (it built fine with earlier Squeeze releases):

hecking for PCRE... yes
checking for backtrace on segfault support... no
checking for large file support... yes
checking for original destination IP checking support... no
checking for type collision with off_t... no
checking for libclamav support... yes
checking for CLAMAV... configure: error: Package requirements (libclamav >= 4)
were not met:

Requested 'libclamav >= 4' but version of libclamav is 0.97.2

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables CLAMAV_CFLAGS
and CLAMAV_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

I'm not an ideal sponsor as I don't use gnomeradio, but yes, in this
special case I'd be fine with sponsoring it.

Bug#638076: RM: bubblemon -- unmaintained, blocking GNOME 3 transition

Thanks for your clarification. I didn't see any followup from you on
these bug reports. Would have been cool if you had just replied, that
you are in contact with upstream/working on it yourself etc. so others
know what's going on.
So I wrongly got the impression, that you went completely silent and I
didn't want to imply that. Sorry for that.

If you still want to work on bubblemon and port it yourself, we can
remove it from testing only, so it doesn't block the GNOME 3 transition.

Just let us know, what you prefer.

Cheers,
Michael

Package: shermans-aquarium
Version: 3.0.1-2
Severity: important

Hi,

this package currently depends on libpanel-applet2-0 - most likely
because it provides an applet for the GNOME panel.

The introduction of gnome-panel 3.0 to unstable is imminent. In this
version, the libpanel-applet library has undergone large changes, and
shermans-aquarium requires changes to support this version:
 * updating to the D-Bus activation mechanism
 * porting to GTK+ 3

You might want to check if upstream developers provide a new version,
compatible with gnome-panel 3.x. Otherwise, porting is a feasible task
if you have a pair of hours to spare. If you feel like it, the
following guides should help you:
 * http://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/gtk-migrating-2-to-3.html
 * http://live.gnome.org/GnomeGoals/AppletsDbusMigration

Cheers,

This package builds with -Werror, and GCC 4.6 triggers new warnings
which will make the package fail to build. Currently a Debian patch
just passes
-Wno-error=unused-but-set-variable and
-Wno-error=unused-but-set-parameter
to avoid build failures, but this patch will be reverted with the
GCC 4.6.1 release, and the severity of the report will be raised.

Bug#638076: RM: bubblemon -- unmaintained, blocking GNOME 3 transition

I contacted upstream when this bug was filed originally, and he doesn't
have time to work on porting the applet it until GNOME 3 is in testing.

I tried to port the applet when GNOME 3 hit unstable on October 15, but
was unable to overcome the problems that GNOME 3 introduced on my
desktop and had to switch to XFCE.

I tried to get 2.0.16 uploaded in the middle of May 2011 (that would
have closed all the open bugs at the time, including the, then only,
RC-bug), but could not find a sponsor due to the imminent inclusion of
GNOME 3 in Debian.

Well, the other RC bug, filed on May 3 2011, would have been closed
within 11 days had GNOME 3 not blocked my finding a sponsor.

 o o o

Anyway, I just wanted to clarify these points - I see no way to avoid
removing bubblemon from Debian; so be it.

Thanks for looking into this.

Package: quick-lounge-applet
Version: 2.13.2-1
Severity: important
User: pkg-gnome-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: applets-transition

Hi,

this package currently depends on libpanel-applet2-0 - most likely
because it provides an applet for the GNOME panel.

The introduction of gnome-panel 3.0 to unstable is imminent. In this
version, the libpanel-applet library has undergone large changes, and
quick-lounge-applet requires changes to support this version:
 * updating to the D-Bus activation mechanism
 * porting to GTK+ 3

You might want to check if upstream developers provide a new version,
compatible with gnome-panel 3.x. Otherwise, porting is a feasible task
if you have a pair of hours to spare. If you feel like it, the
following guides should help you:
 * http://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/gtk-migrating-2-to-3.html
 * http://live.gnome.org/GnomeGoals/AppletsDbusMigration

Cheers,

Package: diff-ext
Severity: important
User: pkg-gnome-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: nautilus3-transition

Hi,

the Debian GNOME team is preparing the upload of nautilus 3 to
unstable.

The API of libnautilus-extension hasn't changed, but it builds
against GTK 3 now which changes its ABI, so the binary package name
was changed to libnautilus-extension1a.

Linking to both GTK 2 and GTK 3 in the same process is not supported
[1] and applications will abort. As a result, updating your package
for nautilus 3 means updating it to GTK 3.

nautilus 3 / libnautilus-extension 3 packages are available from
experimental. Please update and test your package against this
version and ideally upload it to experimental, too. This way, when we
start the transition, the package can be moved to unstable more
easily.

On behalf of the Debian GNOME team,

Michael Biebl

reassign 638076 ftp.debian.org
retitle 638076 RM: bubblemon -- unmaintained, blocking GNOME 3 transition
thanks

Hi,

please remove bubblemon from the archive. It's depending
on libpanel-applet2 which is going away with the switch to GNOME 3.
There has been some small upstream activity a few months ago but it
doesn't show any signs of a GTK 3 / GNOME 3 port.
The last action from the Debian maintainer is from 2010-06-16. This
bug report has been open since Aug, 2011 with no reply so far.
There is another RC bug which hasn't been unanswered by the Debian
maintainer for even longer, so the package looks pretty much
unmaintained and we don't expect any porting efforts any time soon.
The popcon numbers are rather low.

Cheers,
Michael
