When I try to use cupt update after booting with kfreebsd 9, it always fails: E: unable to bind server socket to file '/tmp/cuptyL8GPC': Invalid argument E: error performing command 'update' By contrast, kfreebsd-image-8.2-1-amd64 8.2-8+gcc45 works fine. Trying to track this down, I tried the example from the bind(2) manpage (from manpages-dev 3.32-0.2), with MY_SOCK_PATH set to /tmp/somepath so it wouldn't require root permissions. Same story there --- the 8.2 kernel works fine, while kfreebsd 9 gives me bind: Invalid argument For reference, the installed libc0.1 is 2.13-21. Anyway, thought you might like to know. The introduction of gnome-panel 3.0 to unstable is imminent. In this version, the panel-applet library has undergone large changes, and dockbarx requires changes to support this version: * updating to the D-Bus activation mechanism * porting to GTK+ 3 * porting from PyGTK to the GObject Introspection mechanism You might want to check if upstream developers provide a new version, compatible with gnome-panel 3.x. Otherwise, porting is a feasible task if you have a few hours to spare. If you feel like it, the following guides should help you: * http://live.gnome.org/PyGObject/IntrospectionPorting * http://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/gtk-migrating-2-to-3.html * http://live.gnome.org/GnomeGoals/AppletsDbusMigration For packages that provide other functionality than the GNOME applet, you can simply disable it in the build and remove the dependency if it hasnât been ported. For pure applets packages, you should ask for removal from the archive if you do not intend to port it to the new interface. Such packages that have not been ported when gnome-panel is ready to migrate will be kicked out of testing. Cheers, -- .''`. I reported this bug as RC because it clearly violates must of Debian policy chapter 9.8 . It's also very annoying and breaks uniform feel of Debian on kFreeBSD. I reported a bug against kfreebsd kernel because I believe this bug lies somewhere in tty/consio/syscons subsystems. However, I guess it would be possible to adjust keymaps instead. P.S. It was a huge pain to write this bug report in VT of kfbsd because of this problem. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: kfreebsd-amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: kFreeBSD 8.1-1-amd64 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages kfreebsd-image-8.1-1-amd64 depends on: ii freebsd-utils 8.1-2+b1 FreeBSD utilities needed for GNU/k ii kldutils 8.1-2+b1 tools for managing kFreeBSD module kfreebsd-image-8.1-1-amd64 recommends no packages. kfreebsd-image-8.1-1-amd64 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: kfreebsd-10 Source-Version: 10.0~svn226872-2 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of kfreebsd-10, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: kfreebsd-10_10.0~svn226872-2.debian.tar.gz to main/k/kfreebsd-10/kfreebsd-10_10.0~svn226872-2.debian.tar.gz kfreebsd-10_10.0~svn226872-2.dsc to main/k/kfreebsd-10/kfreebsd-10_10.0~svn226872-2.dsc kfreebsd-headers-10-amd64_10.0~svn226872-2_kfreebsd-amd64.deb to main/k/kfreebsd-10/kfreebsd-headers-10-amd64_10.0~svn226872-2_kfreebsd-amd64.deb kfreebsd-headers-10.0-0-amd64_10.0~svn226872-2_kfreebsd-amd64.deb to main/k/kfreebsd-10/kfreebsd-headers-10.0-0-amd64_10.0~svn226872-2_kfreebsd-amd64.deb kfreebsd-headers-10.0-0_10.0~svn226872-2_kfreebsd-amd64.deb to main/k/kfreebsd-10/kfreebsd-headers-10.0-0_10.0~svn226872-2_kfreebsd-amd64.deb kfreebsd-image-10-amd64_10.0~svn226872-2_kfreebsd-amd64.deb to main/k/kfreebsd-10/kfreebsd-image-10-amd64_10.0~svn226872-2_kfreebsd-amd64.deb kfreebsd-image-10.0-0-amd64_10.0~svn226872-2_kfreebsd-amd64.deb to main/k/kfreebsd-10/kfreebsd-image-10.0-0-amd64_10.0~svn226872-2_kfreebsd-amd64.deb kfreebsd-source-10.0_10.0~svn226872-2_all.deb to main/k/kfreebsd-10/kfreebsd-source-10.0_10.0~svn226872-2_all.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Bug#625412: tuxpuck: ftbfs with gcc-4.6 -Werror
tags 625412 +patch thanks. Doko's report is a false positive. The files that generate the warnings in question are not built using -Werror. However while testing to confirm that it was a false positive I discovered that tuxpuck was unbuildable in current sid for another reason. tuxpuck build-depends on both libjpeg62-dev and libsdl1.2-dev. Since libsdl1.2-dev now depends on libjpeg8-dev this renders the build dependencies uninstallable. The fix is to change the libjpeg62-dev build-dependency to libjpeg8-dev. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#625411: tla: I can't reproduce this bug
Note: i'm just doing flyby investigation of rc bugs. I have no relationship to either doko or this package. This package is building ok for me. Same here Having looked through a number of these bugs I get the impression that doko was a bit careless when doing his mass bug filing. Most are real issues but this is not the first false positive i've come across and he didn't even seem to proofread the messages (they end with The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report. but no such lines are present in this report and several others. I personally think a bug like this can simply be closed. Maybe I'm missing something or we can close this bug?
