Bug#649384: [Gnash-dev] Bug#649384: gnash creates world-readable cookies under /tmp
On Mon, Nov 21, 2011 at 12:56:29AM +0100, Gabriele Giacone wrote: I'd move them under ~/.gnash [0], although I don't know what could remove them at the end without introducing new rc options. Any developers alive? [0] http://paste.debian.net/plain/146441 We want to keep cookies alive when we requested to create a launcher. This is because the launcher will reference the cookie file. I don't think we implement that but libcurl also supports reading cookies back in, which would allow us to send cookies obtained by Gnash http requests back to the browser if the plugin code takes care of doing that part. In any case, the plugin should know if we want or not a launcher (only way to it is an env variable, and is the plugin itself creating the launcher) so you could cleanup the cookies if no launcher was requested... A safe way to put them in /tmp/ is still preferrable to me. They are not really meant to survive a single instance of the standalone player (except for the launcher case). --strk; () Free GIS Flash consultant/developer /\ http://strk.keybit.net/services.html -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#648947: gnome-shell fail to start leaving gnome in fallback mode
Hi Thank you for your support. This is clearly not a critical bug. Please don’t abuse bug severities. Ok sorry. Can I do something to fix the severity? * Does the “GNOME” session fail to switch automatically to fallback mode? If so please provide the glxinfo output. No. Actually fallback mode is working as expected. The problem is when I try to enable gnome-shell with gnome-shell --replace. There is something I can try ? As you said in KVM there isnt GL support, but I have direct rendering enabled and mesa-utils are working properly on the SPICE display. Is this normal? Thank you for your support
Bug#649451: hard-coded gzip-only support in apt-cdrom
On Mon, Nov 21, 2011 at 01:26, Steve McIntyre st...@einval.com wrote: I've just added support for translated description files into debian-cd, creating Translation-$LANG.bz2 on CDs to match the archive. A problem report from a user shortly afterwards described apt-cdrom issues using a DVD generated with this new code. [1] I've dug through the code in cdrom.cc and tagfile.cc and I've found that apt simply does not support .bz2 versions of the Translation files *from CD*. AFAICS it *does* support them in the main archive via HTTP etc. That's a bit of a surprise, to say the least. I am not that surprised, given that apt-cdrom is touched only once in a blue moon - last serious change is from 2009 (udev), the one before that is adding Translation support in 2007, the 2005 change is imported from the previous vcs… You get the pattern. All in all its properly save to say that the code you looked at mostly comes straight from the last millennium (literally speaking!)… My personal excuse is that i haven't used it a single time, so i am properly not the best one to hack on it, but i fear the rest of the (lets count optimistic) trio seems to have the same excuse… So after this little rant^Whistory lesson (which hopefully prevents you from expecting a response after 4 days next time as i could write more of these stories otherwise ;) ) i am willing to promise to try to have a look at it this week(end), if nobody else wants of course, but we need testers either way - volunteers? As it is, on CDs/DVDs we're stuck with only using gzip for various of the index files now until wheezy+1. That means we're going to be wasting (maybe a lot) more space on CDs than necessary. You could ask stable managers for permission for a stable-upgrade. +squeeze1 already adds some xz parts (for apt-utils tools). Note though that squeeze doesn't support xz for index files downloadable from the net, as i implemented it only in 0.8.12 after hearing it the first time on debian-devel. Not that it had ever reached deity@ or even the bts. As it is usually for deities, they are expected to know everything and also before people even think about it… So sorry for wasting cd space, but time travel isn't stable yet and my crystal ball was in repair in 2010, so i couldn't foresee what people in 2011 expected me to have done. Given that my crystal ball is still broken, it might be worthwhile to request the features expected to be present in wheezy+1 NOW instead of then they are needed and serious bugs in your eyes in 2012/3… Thanks for consideration and best regards David Kalnischkies -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#646870: gs-common: doesn't depend on anything
Le vendredi, 28 octobre 2011 00.02:07, Jakub Wilk a écrit : Package: gs-common Version: 9.04~dfsg-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable gs-common is a transitional dummy package, but it's an empty package that doesn't depend on anything. That hardly helps any transition. In fact, it breaks a number of packages that still (build-)depend on gs-common. Jonas: what about uploading ghostscript soon with the changes pushed to the Git repository by Steve Langasek (that seem to fix this RC bug by an effective removal of gs-common) ? (Or should we not remove gs-common yet ?) Cheers, -- OdyX signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.
Bug#648029: xen-utils-common: /usr/lib/xen-common/bin/xen-toolstack (and thus /usr/sbin/xm) works with bash, but not dash
How about changing the shebang of the xen-toolstack-wrapper by bash directly to avoid further issues ?

Bug#649451: hard-coded gzip-only support in apt-cdrom

A problem report from a user shortly afterwards described apt-cdrom issues using a DVD generated with this new code. All in all its properly save to say that the code you looked at mostly comes straight from the last millennium (literally speaking!)… My personal excuse is that i haven't used it a single time, so i am properly not the best one to hack on it, but i fear the rest of the (lets count optimistic) trio seems to have the same excuse… Yes, definitely the same here. I don't even have a single Debian CD/DVD/Blu-Ray disc. I exclusively install systems via network, and do not use optical discs at all. Also, there is a wishlist bug [2] for xulrunner to provide an unversioned xulrunner. Bug#649537: lvm2: lvremove only inspects the last char when doing an 'are you sure? [y/n]'
Package: lvm2 Version: 2.02.66-5 Severity: grave Justification: causes non-serious data loss I noticed that when I ran 'lvremove' on a LV I wanted to remove that I was able to type anything followed by the 'y' char and this would pass the 'are you sure' prompt. Here is an example, which I ran on a real system: root@vmdev3:/home/dblack# lvremove /dev/vmdev3-vg0/indexing.bepress.com-* Do you really want to remove active logical volume indexing.bepress.com-swap? [y/n]: noy Logical volume indexing.bepress.com-swap successfully removed Do you really want to remove active logical volume indexing.bepress.com-disk?
