thanks for the report. I think I have addressed this in the coming
upload of Condor 7.7.5. However, before uploading there are a couple of
other issues the need to be addressed.

Cheers,

Hi, ttf-telugu-fonts is not installable in sid:

seneca:/home/rt# apt-get install ttf-telugu-fonts
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
ttf-telugu-fonts : Depends: fonts-telu but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

The problem is that ttf-telugu-fonts depends on fonts-telu which in
turn Breaks: ttf-telugu-fonts. This probably should be
ttf-telugu-fonts (<< 2:1.0).

Hi,

This is caused by that the source code does not correspond to C99.
I will report this to upsream.
If you want to build immediately, you need to drop std=c99 option.

Best regards,
  Nobuhiro

Concerning ImageMagick 6.7.5-0 and earlier:

CVE-2012-0247: When parsing a maliciously crafted image with incorrect offset
and count in the ResolutionUnit tag in EXIF IFD0, ImageMagick copies two bytes
into an invalid address.
CVE-2012-0248: When parsing a maliciously crafted image with an IFD whose all
IOP tags' value offsets point to the beginning of the IFD itself. As a result,
ImageMagick parses the IFD structure indefinitely, causing a denial of service.

Thanks for these tips. This worked just fine.

Do you know any reason why broadcom-sta-source is shipped as binary
package for arch amd64 (and not for all arch)?
If there is any reason, I can upload my i386 package.

Bug#662964: ekiga: uninstallable

> Has libpt2.6.7 been removed from unstable??? I fear that something very

Eugen,

Yes libpt2.6.7 was updated to libpt2.10.4 as part of this transition.

However, libpt2.6.7 remains in testing and stable until the transition is
complete. ekiga3.2.7 will remain installable from both testing and stable
while we complete the tranistion.

To complete the transition we are required to update:
libpt
opal
ekiga
t38modem

You indicated that in a few weeks you wanted to upload ekiga 4.0, so ekiga
would be part of this transition. It will take a few weeks for the dependant
libs to be upgraded.

If you want to keep ekiga 3.2.7 in unstable for a longer time, I have offered
to fork ptlib/ opal packages in unstable:

! If the latter then we can create an NEW {opal3,ptlib2}6.7-lalande packages
! so we don't have to rush the ekiga transition

Please let me know if you would like me to upload the NEW
{opal3,ptlib2}6.7-lalande packages, or are happy to wait for ekiga4.0 in
unstable.

Mark

Nicolas,

Some of the libraries for ekiga are going through a transition:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=659202

It is normal during a transition for some dependant libraries to not be
availble from the unstable distribution.

In this case I would recommend you install libpt2.6.7 from the testing
distribution while the tranistion is underway:
http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=libpt2.6.7

This happens because in ortp.pc among the required Libs there's also
-lsrtp (as linphone is compiled with srtp), but libortp-dev does not
depend on libsrtp0-dev on kfreebsd-amd64 and kfreebsd-i386.
Actually, it seems that the list of architectures used for the
libsrtp-dev dependency in libortp-dev does not match the architectures
where srtp is used. Therefore, the fix for debian/control should be:

 Depends: ${misc:Depends}, libortp8 (= ${binary:Version}),
- libsrtp0-dev [alpha amd64 armel armhf hppa i386 mips mipsel powerpc s390]
+ libsrtp0-dev [!hurd-any !sparc]
to match the libsrtp-dev build dependency.

Thanks,

Depends: libsrtp0 but it is not going to be installed.
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

Keep the following packages at their current version:
 1) ekiga [Not Installed]
 2) libopal3.6.8 [Not Installed]

And thus the installation fail.

Hi Mark,

Has libpt2.6.7 been removed from unstable??? I fear that something very

Please include the source for that and actually compile that source and
use the compiled binary data instead of the one that is included now in
the source package.

 Thanks,
Rhonda

Hi Ralf,

 gosa | 2.7.3-1 | sid | source, all

As a consequence, debian-edu-config-gosa-netgroups must be updated in order
to ever become installable again.

-Ralf.

This dependency limitation for d-e-c-gosa-netgroups is absolutely intended.

Providing a GOsa² add-on in debian-edu-config is a total work-around
for the very new gosa plugin. gosa-plugin-netgroups has been developed
esp. for Debian Edu and was not in Debian when squeeze became stable.

May I suggest this: Please file a bug against the gosa package that
Debian Edu needs gosa-plugin-netgroups to become part of gosa-2.7 in
the Debian repository.

The gosa-plugin-netgroups should also Break+Replace
debian-edu-config-gosa-netgroups.

Greets,
Mike

I just heard back that they're running behind schedule by about a month, so
I'll proceed with making a release with a stripped tarball to address

Indeed.

>indeed empty?

Yes, it was here.

>In case it is, I have no idea what might have caused this, but I doubt
>it it is something related to console-setup.

It is because /u/s/d/console-setup was a directory and now is a symlink
to a directory. As per Policy §6.6, dpkg cannot handle such situation.
("A directory will never be replaced by a symbolic link to a directory
or vice versa; instead, the existing state (symlink or not) will be left
alone and `dpkg´ will follow the symlink if there is one.")

To reproduce this bug:
1) Install console-setup in a squeeze chroot.
2) Upgrade console-setup (only this package) to unstable version.

Dear Maintainer,

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:

  * Fix FTBFS (LP: #935445):
- d/maven.rules: Map plexus-component-annotations to version 1.5.5.
  * d/libsisu-ioc-java.poms: Added --java-lib to ensure jar files still get
installed to /usr/share/java.

The latest version of libplexus-containers1.5-java does not create 1.5.x
symbolic links causing a FTBFS with this package - an exact version match
is now required.

Also the default behaviour of maven-debian-helper has changed so I also
added a fix to ensure jars are still installed in /usr/share/java.

Thanks for considering the patch.

Bug#662976: [sat4j] Delay sat4j 2.3.1-1 transition to testing - breaks eclipse plugins

2012-03-07 Thread Jakub Adam

Package: sat4j
Version: 2.3.1-1
Severity: serious

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Eclipse running with sat4j 2.3.1-1 will not load any plugins[1]. Problem has to
be
fixed in eclipse package, this bug is only to prevent new sat4j to enter testing
prematurely. Once my update for eclipse is in place, I will close it.

Thank you, that works on Testing.

There's a problem where Amarok/gstreamer stops playing the current track
if you select a different preset on the equaliser. Is this known, or
should I report it as a bug?

FWIW your idea didn't look insane. I haven't come back to this yet, but if we
get to a solution for wheezy it will probably be near yours.

(I.e. it was just a time problem on my side so far.)

Bug#662971: openmsx-catapult: not installable in sid, needs update

2012-03-07 Thread Ralf Treinen
Package: openmsx-catapult
Version: 0.8.1-3
Severity: serious
User: trei...@debian.org
Usertags: edos-outdated

Hi,

openmsx-catapult depends on openmsx (<< 0.8.2). In sid we are, however,
past that version of openmsx:

% rmadison openmsx
 openmsx | 0.6.3-2| lenny | source, alpha, amd64, arm, armel, hppa, i386,
ia64, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
 openmsx | 0.8.0-1| squeeze | source, amd64, armel, i386, ia64,
kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
 openmsx | 0.8.2-1| sid | source, amd64, armel, armhf, hurd-i386, ia64,
kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, s390x, sparc
 openmsx | 0.8.2-1+b1 | sid | i386

Hence, openmsx-catapult needs to be updated in order to become installable
again.

Hi,

of gosa:

apt-key isn't going to be obsoleted. The intend is to remove the need for
'apt-key update' - the rest of the included features are sometimes needed
regardless of if you use fragment files or not (like, 'apt-key list' or managing
the (now/then) user-keyring trusted.gpg).

For the rest of the topic have a look at debian-archive-keyring/experimental
which uses a symlink in the fragmented directory - i am personally not
very keen on using symlinks for this, but i have already commented on
that to no avail (beside providing a try in implementing a 'fragmented'
keyring by having each key in a separated file), but maybe you have
more luck:

Dear Maintainer,

The following NEW packages will be installed:
  ekiga{b} libcamel-1.2-29{a} libebook-1.2-12{a} libedataserver-1.2-15{a}
libopal3.6.8{ab}
The following packages are RECOMMENDED but will NOT be installed:

Need to get 13.7 MB of archives. After unpacking 31.3 MB will be used.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
ekiga: Depends: libpt2.6.7 which is a virtual package.
Depends: evolution-data-server but it is not going to be installed.
libopal3.6.8: Depends: libpt2.6.7 which is a virtual package.
Depends: libsrtp0 but it is not going to be installed.
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

Keep the following packages at their current version:

2) libopal3.6.8 [Not Installed]

And thus the installation fail.

I can't reproduce this here with your steps.
Also, gpg doesn't complain about MD5 for me.

Note also that we haven't made a changed in 0.8.15.10 to apt-key.
The last changes were in 0.8.15.6 and 0.8.15.3, but both do not
really interact with the removed keyring.

The 'apt-key update' command is triggered in apt (and debian-archive-keyring)
postinst and works with this keyring, but it only does --list-keys on it -
which should be a read-only operation in gpg…

Does the file /etc/apt/trustdb.gpg exists on your system and has correct
permissions? (600 aka -rw---) gpg seems to complain about it.

APT doesn't really need it as all keys in the trusted.gpg keyring(s) are
considered fully trusted, but gpg cries havoc if it isn't to its liking
(similar to a secret keyring, but we got right of it in 0.8.15.3 with a bit
of tempfile trickery. For trustdb.gpg is is currently not an option though…).

I have changed to 'normal' for now as i can't reproduce it and
as an RC bug it would prevent the migration of a security bugfix to
testing…

Hi,

I'm sorry, I think I didn't express myself correctly. Please read this:
http://lintian.debian.org/tags/patch-modifying-debian-files.html

As you can see, lintian did catch issues in your openvswitch package! :)

So, if you have changes to make in let's say debian/control, then edit
the file, don't produce a patch for it in debian/patches. Same for
debian/python-openvswitch.install, or debian/dkms.conf.in.

Did you get it this time? Or should I explain further?

I hope that helps.

Bug#662948: apt: most recent upgrade corrupts /usr/share/keyrings/debian-archive-removed-keys.gpg

2012-03-07 Thread Christoph Anton Mitterer
Package: apt
Version: 0.8.15.10
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software

Hi.

I've noticed by chance the following:

When upgrading to this version (0.8.15.10), the file
/usr/share/keyrings/debian-archive-removed-keys.gpg
was somehow modified.
At some places a 0x00 was replaced by 0x03.

I reproduced this on 4 different sid machines...
Every time I did
1) debsums -asc debian-archive-keyring
   => all fine
2) upgrade apt
3) debsums -asc debian-archive-keyring
   => /usr/share/keyrings/debian-archive-removed-keys.gpg "corrupted"
4) reinstalled debian-archive-keyring

Also strange,... during the upgrade there was this warning about MD5:
Setting up apt (0.8.15.10) ...
gpg: key F42584E6: "Lenny Stable Release Key "
not changed
gpg: key 55BE302B: "Debian Archive Automatic Signing Key (5.0/lenny)

gpg: key 6D849617: "Debian-Volatile Archive Automatic Signing Key (5.0/lenny)"
not changed
gpg: key B98321F9: "Squeeze Stable Release Key
" not changed
gpg: key 473041FA: "Debian Archive Automatic Signing Key (6.0/squeeze)
" not changed
gpg: Total number processed: 5
gpg: unchanged: 5
gpg: checking the trustdb
gpg: WARNING: digest algorithm MD5 is deprecated
gpg: please see http://www.gnupg.org/faq/weak-digest-algos.html for more
information
gpg: no ultimately trusted keys found

Marking this as critical, as it _could_ (though I don't believe it) be security
relvant and as it modifies
data from another package.

Any ideas?

Chris.

Hi Thomas,

It is my understanding that placing patches under debian/patches is part of
the 3.0 (quilt) package format. Is OVS using the format incorrectly in some
way? Does that format interact with DKMS poorly in some way?

Bug#655745: freshly installed dosemu (no customization) crashes on start up with Bus Error

2012-03-07 Thread Michal Suchanek
Package: dosemu
Severity: normal

I am not getting this with dosemu 1.4.0+2010 nor 1.4.0+1999 on linux
2.6.39-rc7 3.0.0 3.2.0 and 3.3.0-rc5

So I guess there is something specific about your configuration which
makes dosemu crash.

I do have custom configuration, though.

Bug#662938: tomoyo-tools out-of-sync with kernel version -> kernel panic!

2012-03-07 Thread Rob van der Hoeven
Package: tomoyo-tools
Version: 2.4.0-20111025-3
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?

I tested tomoyo in a VirtualBox. Activating tomoyo with the
"security=tomoyo" parameter in grub went fine. The kernel log reported that
version 2.5 of tomoyo was loaded. I initialized a profile with tomoyo tools
version 2.4 and restarted the system. This gave a kernel panick message.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

Restarted the system and changed grub option in "security=none". De-install
tomoyo-tools, empty /etc/tomoyo. Downloaded 2.5 source of tomoyo-tools,
compiled it, initialized profile. Enabled "security=tomoyo" in grub and
restarted.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

System started fine, tomoyo worked.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'testing'.
It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
replaces relation.

Done, as this isn't a new problem anyway.

Calling it with an absolute path would be wrong, really; but I've
changed debian/rules for my next upload to ensure that /sbin and
/usr/sbin are in $PATH when running the test suite. Thanks.

the equalizer in amarok should be available with the gstreamer backend.

You either should load the FPU on a display, or have not to insert the SMTP
computer but from AutoCAD XP you cannot remove the wordprocessor of a MIDI IDE
editor, this way you must send a provider of the printer to boot from the
monitor.

Various packages depend on libnetcdf6 as various libraries were shipped
in that package. Splitting the package and depending on the library
packages which were merged in the old one is fine, too. But bumping the
soname of one of the libraries *and* letting libnetcdf6 just depend on
it breaks packages using the libraries - and I would guess it doesn't
even show up as transition target. Please revert that change or remove
libnetcdf6 after having a proper transition to the splitted packages.

Bug#659685: Can we have a fix please?

2012-03-07 Thread Thomas Goirand
Hi,

I had a look to the current packaging of openvswitch, in order to fix
this bug (eg: #659685) With all due respect... it's a mess.

The only reason why you are using Quilt is to patch files that are in
your openvswitch_.debian.tar.gz. Please don't abuse quilt like
this! There's no reason to patch things under the debian folder, it
should come already patched.

Your debian-changes-1.4.0-2 is reverting some of the patches previously
applied, and which would have otherwise let the DKMS module.

I have attached a patch which removes all patches in debian/patches,
since they aren't needed at all. Also, with this patch,
openvswitch-datapath-dkms works as expected (eg: it build the kernel
module), because using ${kernel_source_dir} as it should be. Please
apply this patch and upload a new 1.4.0-3 of openvswitch.
