Bug#622628: npm dependencies waiting to be reviewed/uploaded
For npm-1.1.4, the last one is : git://git.debian.org/collab-maint/node-which.git (i asked David Paleino to take care of that one). IMO the three other modules that are left are too bound to npm to be packaged separatedly. It would also be a good idea to upload npm 1.1.4 soon, as more recent versions of npm are introducing new modules : the more we wait, the more work is needed, the more we wait :) Jérémy. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#666057: libselinux1-dev: Removal of Provides: libselinux-dev breaks libfuse-dev
Package: libselinux1-dev Version: 2.1.9-3 Severity: grave In libselinux 2.1.9-3, you removed the Provides: libselinux-dev from libselinux1-dev. This may have been a mistake since it isn't explicitly mentioned in the changelog. At any rate the result is that libfuse-dev is now uninstallable in unstable, so I can no longer build grub2. Please restore this Provides as soon as possible. (This could also be fixed by libfuse-dev depending on libselinux1-dev directly, so I've CCed the libfuse-dev maintainer; but it does seem a bit abrupt to yank the Provides out from under its feet without so much as a bug report.) Yep, once curl 7.25.0 is released and uploaded to unstable (as Julian said I'll prepare another upload for security). We should fix this through stable-security. Please send a debdiff once the fix has been testing in unstable for a few days. Attached is the debdiff for stable-security. Bug#627300: Why grave?
On 28-3-2012 14:41, Andreas Ulm wrote: IMO it's grave because a main functionality of mysql is that you can write your own my.cnf and run mysql with your user. But because of this bug you can't use mytop while running mysql as your user. At my company each developer has his/her own mysql daemon running with an own config and noone of them can use mytop due to this error. Sounds more like severity: important important: a bug which has a major effect on the usability of a package, without rendering it completely unusable to everyone. Due to using grave, mytop has been removed from testing and is now unusable by everyone... if it hasn't been installed already. He wanted to do this one month ago. Unfortunately, he didn't yet. The bug is still as before: vague and unreproducible. Please, Olaf, provide more information! I really like to get rid of this RC bug. Especially, I like to be able to decide how serious it is for the users. I can't yet, unless I put lots of time into this (possibly not masqmail-concerning) issue. meillo FYI: We are currently preparing a new (and final) version of the 0.2 branch. Bug#665999: FTBFS on kfreebsd-*: procproperties.cpp:27:23: fatal error: asm/param.h: No such file or directory
El 27 de març de 2012 19:39, Michael Biebl bi...@debian.org ha escrit: procproperties.cpp:27:23: fatal error: asm/param.h: No such file or directory This program was building before. Why was asm/param.h dependency added? Does it now rely on Linux-specific functionality, or is it optional? If this package is now Linux-specific, we have no choice. However, if it's just an oversight, it's probably trivial to fix it. Have a look at the rest of the file. Which code in it depends on that header? Does something break if you remove it? Is this code conditionalized (e.g. #ifdef __linux__)? Also, I suggest you run git blame to find the commit that introduced this regression, and see what other changes it made to the code. -- Robert Millan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Vulnerability Types: Cross-Site Scripting, Information Disclosure, Insecure Unserialize Overall Severity: Medium Release Date: March 28, 2012 Vulnerable subcomponent: Extbase Framework Affected Versions: Versions 4.4.x and 4.5.x are NOT affected by this vulnerabilty. Vulnerability Type: Insecure Unserialize Severity: Medium Suggested CVSS v2.0: AV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N/E:U/RL:OF/RC:C Problem Description: Due to a missing signature (HMAC) for a request argument, an attacker could unserialize arbitrary objects within TYPO3. To our knowledge it is neither possible to inject code through this vulnerability, nor are there exploitable objects within the TYPO3 Core. However, there might be exploitable objects within third party extensions. Vulnerable subcomponent: TYPO3 Backend Vulnerability Type: Cross-Site Scripting Severity: Medium Suggested CVSS v2.0: AV:N/AC:M/Au:S/C:P/I:P/A:N/E:F/RL:OF/RC:C Problem Description: Failing to properly HTML-encode user input in several places, the TYPO3 backend is susceptible to Cross-Site Scripting. A valid backend user is required to exploit these vulnerabilities. IMPORTANT NOTE: With these TYPO3 versions the description field of the filelink content element is HTML encoded by default. If you allowed editors to enter HTML code in this field, you may want to add the following line to your TypoScript template, before updating. tt_content.uploads.20.itemRendering.20.2.htmlSpecialChars = 0 Allowing HTML in this field is discouraged for editors, same as allowing the plain HTML content element. Vulnerable subcomponent: TYPO3 Command Line Interface Vulnerability Type: Information Disclosure Severity: Low Suggested CVSS v2.0: AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N/E:F/RL:OF/RC:C Problem Description: Accessing a CLI Script directly with a browser may disclose the database name used for the TYPO3 installation. Vulnerable subcomponent: TYPO3 HTML Sanitizing API Vulnerability Type: Cross-Site Scripting Severity: Medium Suggested CVSS v2.0: AV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:N/E:F/RL:OF/RC:C Problem Description: By not removing non printable characters, the API method t3lib_div::RemoveXSS() fails to filter specially crafted HTML injections, thus is susceptible to Cross-Site Scripting. -- MfG, Christian Welzel GPG-Key: http://www.camlann.de/de/pgpkey.html Fingerprint: 4F50 19BF 3346 36A6 CFA9 DBDC C268 6D24 70A1 AD15 ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: typo3-src Source-Version: 4.5.14+dfsg1-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of typo3-src, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: typo3-database_4.5.14+dfsg1-1_all.deb to main/t/typo3-src/typo3-database_4.5.14+dfsg1-1_all.deb typo3-dummy_4.5.14+dfsg1-1_all.deb to main/t/typo3-src/typo3-dummy_4.5.14+dfsg1-1_all.deb typo3-src-4.5_4.5.14+dfsg1-1_all.deb to main/t/typo3-src/typo3-src-4.5_4.5.14+dfsg1-1_all.deb typo3-src_4.5.14+dfsg1-1.debian.tar.gz to main/t/typo3-src/typo3-src_4.5.14+dfsg1-1.debian.tar.gz typo3-src_4.5.14+dfsg1-1.dsc to main/t/typo3-src/typo3-src_4.5.14+dfsg1-1.dsc typo3-src_4.5.14+dfsg1.orig.tar.gz to main/t/typo3-src/typo3-src_4.5.14+dfsg1.orig.tar.gz typo3_4.5.14+dfsg1-1_all.deb to main/t/typo3-src/typo3_4.5.14+dfsg1-1_all.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. If I upgrade to the version in testing (4.0.12-1) I can no longer print. The printing itself works from the application view, I can see the printing jobs with lpq, but nothing is output to the printer, the job just stays forever in lpq. I even let my computer run over night to see if just some rendering was very slow, but nothing, no print. Same results with the version in sid (4.0.13-1). No printer output. (Though I only tested in briefly with a simple plain file). If I downgrade to 4.0.9-1, switch my printer off and again on, and /etc/init.d/cups restart then printing works again (tested with plain files only so far, though). For the record: printing with usb, downgrading cups, ghostscript etc. did not help, printer worked for years, orginally with parallel, now with usb port. Bug#656040: [Pkg-ace-devel] Bug#656040: root source of problem found
Hello, Thanks for your report, and sorry for the late reply. In the process, I discovered another minor issue identified at the bottom of this update. First, forgot to mention in the initial report (should that matter) Debian version: Wheezy(testing) Debian arch: amd64 The problem is actually with package libnetsvcs-6.0.1 rather than ace-netsvcs as initially reported. This package should install a symlink to the library installed in /usr/lib from libnetsvcs.so to libnetsvcs-6.0.1.so. You'll get that symlink if you install libnetsvcs-dev package, see: http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/amd64/libnetsvcs-dev/filelist Or have the server.conf look like: dynamic Logger Service_Object * ACE:_make_ACE_Logging_Strategy() -s foobar -f STDERR|OSTREAM|VERBOSE dynamic Server_Logging_Service Service_Object * libnetsvcs-6.0.1.so:_make_ACE_Server_Logging_Acceptor() active -p 20009 I see different options here: 1 document this in a README as you suggest 2 change ace_netsvcs so that it somehow replaces netsvcs string with libnetsvcs-6.0.1.so before proceeding to the loading 3 change ACE shared library loading to teach it how to load its own libraries using SONAME rather than short name 4 make ace-netsvcs package recommend (or even depend) on libnetsvc-dev Any opinion on this? [...] The other minor additional configuration issue I discovered is that package libkokyu-dev doesn't depend on libkokyu-6.0.1 (although all the other {ACE|TAO} -dev packages do depend on their underlying base library). libkokyu-dev 6.0.1-1 does depend on libkokyu-6.0.1 according to: http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/libkokyu-dev Thanks, Regards, Thomas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. See the build log at https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=mpqcarch=armelver=2.3.1-14stamp=1332702986 The runtime of that test is 0.05 seconds on my T400 on amd64, so it seems to be a more general problem with openmpi on arm. Indeed if I extract the -13 .debs and set LD_LIBRARY_PATH, mpqc spins at 100% without output. Even if I just run /usr/bin/ompi-ps without arguments, it eats 100% cpu and spins at sched_yield() forever accordings to strace: socket(PF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, IPPROTO_IP) = 7 setsockopt(7, SOL_TCP, TCP_NODELAY, [1], 4) = 0 setsockopt(7, SOL_SOCKET, SO_SNDBUF, [131072], 4) = 0 setsockopt(7, SOL_SOCKET, SO_RCVBUF, [131072], 4) = 0 fcntl64(7, F_GETFL) = 0x2 (flags O_RDWR) fcntl64(7, F_SETFL, O_RDWR|O_NONBLOCK) = 0 connect(7, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(37855), sin_addr=inet_addr(172.28.17.11)}, 16) = -1 EINPROGRESS (Operation now in progress) sched_yield() = 0 sched_yield() = 0 sched_yield() = 0 sched_yield() = 0 sched_yield() = 0 sched_yield() = 0 [...] Reassigning to openmpi-bin for now, I am of course open to suggestions for any work-arounds or other things to try. Bug#666144: libmecab2 and libmecab1: error when trying to install together
Package: libmecab1,libmecab2 Version: libmecab1/0.98-1 Version: libmecab2/0.99.3-1 Severity: serious User: trei...@debian.org Usertags: edos-file-overwrite Date: 2012-03-29 Architecture: amd64 Distribution: sid Hi, automatic installation tests of packages that share a file and at the same time do not conflict by their package dependency relationships has detected the following problem: WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated! libmecab1 libmecab2 Authentication warning overridden. Can not write log, openpty() failed (/dev/pts not mounted?) Selecting previously unselected package libmecab1. (Reading database ... 10571 files and directories currently installed.) Unpacking libmecab1 (from .../libmecab1_0.98-1_amd64.deb) ... Selecting previously unselected package libmecab2. Unpacking libmecab2 (from .../libmecab2_0.99.3-1_amd64.deb) ... dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libmecab2_0.99.3-1_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/etc/mecabrc', which is also in package libmecab1 0.98-1 configured to not write apport reports dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe) Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/libmecab2_0.99.3-1_amd64.deb E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violates sections 7.6.1 and 10.1 of the policy. An optimal solution would consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file diversions. If the conflicting situation cannot be resolved then, as a last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual Conflict. Please take into account that Replaces, Conflicts and diversions should only be used when packages provide different implementations for the same functionality. Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages (according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be slightly out of sync): /etc/mecabrc -Ralf.
