I'm very happy with this - thank you Gregor and David.

I'm adding

  Replaces: libmysql-diff-perl (<= 0.43-1)
  Breaks: libmysql-diff-perl (<= 0.43-1)

to mysql-utilities and including list of provided utilities to package
description to address #664120 ("libmysql-diff-perl: please provide mysqldiff
keyword in package description") from mysql-utilities side.

Regards,
Dmitry.

I just rebuilt this on my amd64 system (in a sid pbuilder chroot) and
the build completed fine. Can you offer any suggestions as to where I
should start trying to track down this bug?

Sounds like a bug in emacs.

Please try this patch from [1] (found via the Ubuntu package).

Bug#666691: libglib2.0-0 makes emacs23 freeze in terminal mode

2012-03-31 Thread Vincent Lefevre
Package: libglib2.0-0
Version: 2.32.0-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
+ possible data loss from the shell

After upgrading to libglib2.0-0 2.32.0-2 or 2.32.0-3, emacs freezes in
terminal mode (e.g. with "emacs -nw" or via ssh without X forwarding)
and takes 100% CPU. Ctrl-G has no effect; it is not possible to quit
(or kill) from the terminal. This occurs at least with xterm and
gnome-terminal. If emacs is killed (e.g. with the kill command from
another terminal), the typed characters are transmitted to the shell.

There is no such problem with libglib2.0-0 2.30.2-6.

All versions currently in the archive (3.01-2, 3.05-1, 3.08-1) miss
source and are linked against a non-free library according to the
copyright information. That should make the packages not even
distributable by Debian.

Source code for upx itself seems to be available at the upstream
homepage (http://upx.sourceforge.net/, lower left has a link).

Bug#666652: Including individual glib headers no longer supported

2012-03-31 Thread Michael Biebl
severity 52 important
retitle 52 pan:Including individual glib headers no longer supported
user pkg-gnome-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org
usertags 52 + glib-single-include
thanks

Hi,

including invidiual glib headers has been deprecated for several years.

Starting with glib 2.32 it is now mandatory to include glib.h instead
of individual headers [1], or the compiler will generate an error.

With the notable exception of:
 glib/gi18n.h
 glib/gi18n-lib.h
 glib/gprintf.h
 glib/gstdio.h
Those header files are still meant to be included separately.

Usually, simply replacing #include with #include
is all that is needed (while keeping the above list of exceptions in
mind)
You can use the glib version from experimental to test if your package
builds correctly.

A simple shell script [2] has been written, that can help you
generate a patch which should fix the includes in most cases.
It's most likely not bug free and very limited, so please check the
resulting patch carefully.

Thanks!

Michael,
on behalf of the Debian GNOME team

Bug#666621: jscribble: FTBFS: tests failed

2012-03-31 Thread Martin Ueding
The problem is that the error logging facility will display a little
dialog box. So when an exception occurs while testing in headless mode,
it crashes.

That exception is now caught, I will release and package the new version
shortly.

Package: libopenscenegraph56
Version: 2.8.2-2
Severity: important

This package appears to need to depend on libxine1-x.

I intend to remove the libxine1-x and libxine1-console dependencies from
libxine1 once squeeze is released; at that point, this bug will become
serious.

It is recommended that you make use of dh_xine (supplied by libxine-dev) and
have the package depend on ${xine-x:Depends}; that way, no changes (other
than, perhaps, some source changes) will be needed once xine-lib 1.2 is
released and uploaded to unstable.

Hello,

I noticed that this bug report remained unattended, it's not showing
up on src:openscenegraph anymore -- do you happen to know why?

libopenscenegraph80 does not depend on libxine1-x, so I'm closing this
bug report.

Cheers.

Justification: renders package unusable

This bug along with the significant other number of bugs about segfaults in
linphone means that linphone is unusable by most users, which is a release
critical situation that should have been fixed before release (or linphone
removed; I'm just reporting the bug because I was testing linphone for my
purposes, not because I care about linphone especially).

If you bug me I will try to gather a core dump, strace etc, but at this very
moment, I'm in middle of a project and just need a working softphone, so will
just use something else.

Dear Maintainer,

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:

  * dvpreview.c: Use UTF-8 functions instead of deprecated API. Fixes
FTBFS.
  * {interface, main}.c: Update not to use deprecated API. Fixes FTBFS.

In particular, please review the changes to dvpreview.c regarding
filename comparison; you may well have a better solution. Thanks for
considering the patch.

User: multiarch-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org

Hi,

Shared library packages *must not* install files, which name does not
change (with the SONAME or package name). Otherwise the package will
not be co-installable with "older versions" of the library and that
makes future transitions vastly harder (if any)[1].

Also, the binary in /usr/bin is architecture dependent but the package
declares itself a "Multi-Arch: same" package. This is not allowed as
the binary in /usr/bin is not byte-for-byte identical across
architectures.

Presumably you want to move the binary to a separate package and mark
that package as "Multi-Arch: foreign".

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
amd64.

This rebuild was done by building only architecture:any binary packages
(binary-arch target of debian/rules), and using a recent dpkg that uses the
build-arch target if available.
Also, only the Build-Depends were installed, not the Build-Depends-Indep.

Relevant part:

The full build log is available from:
   http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2012/03/30/sopwith_1.7.4-5_unstable.log

A list of current common problems and possible solutions is available at
http://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS . You're welcome to contribute!

About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on about 50 AMD64 nodes
of the Grid'5000 platform, using a clean chroot. Internet was not
accessible from the build systems.

I do not intend to work on the makedev package any more. On modern
Linux systems, udev is a complete solution for everything except deeply
embedded systems, where makedev isn't the right solution either.

Bug#666680: texlive-base: fails to upgrade from 'testing'

Package: texlive-base
Version: 2011.20120322-1
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'testing'.
It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails.

This seems to be a problem with the package set being upgraded at the
same time, at this did only happen during an upgrade of dvipsk-ja.

Bug#666603: latex-make: FTBFS: ! LaTeX Error: File `a4wide.sty' not found.

The new texlive in unstable stops shipping a4wide.sty in
texlive-latex-base and ships it in texlive-latex-extra as it is
deprecated.

The fix is easy: either build-depends on texlive-latex-extra
or stop using a4wide.sty.
As I'm also upstream, I will try to upload a new upstream
release without using a4wide.sty (I have other improvements
to release at the same time) but it will probably have to wait
a few days.

  Regards,
Vincent

The problem is that:

and it keeps going and going until it crashes, and no doc is
generated. It's probably related to the recent updated of
texlive-binaries to a new upstream release.

That seems to be rsvg's fault (http://bugs.debian.org/666276), but I guess I

Interesting. I thought the glib actually uploaded to unstable disabled that
check?

See

   * Don't enforce single include for glib/gversionmacros.h since this header
is included from glib/gtypes.h which is widely used.

in -3.

Before that there even was

   * Upload to unstable.
   * Revert upstream commit for now which makes single includes mandatory as
the list of affected packages is still a bit too long.

in -2.

-> no bug here.

Anyway ee http://bugs.debian.org/665574. Which means this is actually "fixed"
already in sid since one day
("fixed" because 3.5.x in Debians build config is not even affected..) ;-)

-> no action needed here.

Regards,

Rene
